Changmin was walking aimlessly in the agency's building with nothing to do in particular. He didn't feel like training or doing anything, but he hoped that maybe, going to the agency would help him. He was wrong.
Since he was there, he only met a lot of hypocritical trainees who suddenly complimented him for reasons he didn't get or curious gazes from people all around each corner. He didn't know what was going – he didn't care either – but it was slowly starting to piss him off.
He didn't care about any of them. He wanted Junsu.
On his errand, he ended up in front of their usual room, empty room, and met the manager who was visibly passing by.
“Changmin-ah~” the older man called him warmly. “I hadn't had time to tell you, but this show was amazing! I really didn't expect that. I’m glad the training had been so profitable.”
Changmin frowned a bit and nodded. True, the manager had been there he thought, but he didn't want to hear this from him. He wasn't the one he wanted to talk to for now.
“Well, I can't say much for now, but I have a meeting with the boss in a minute.” The manager smiled and patted his shoulder like a father would do to his son. “I will let you know the decision.”
Changmin nodded, barely listening to him and not even trying to get what decision he was referring to. He didn't care nor understood whatever the older man was saying and simply bowed when the employee left. Right now, his whole mind couldn't think of anything beside Junsu.
He hadn't seen Junsu in three days. He started to strongly feel the gap.
Somehow, Junsu kinda of disappeared and Changmin suspected he was just trying to avoid him. In fact, he hadn't been around since the show. After his performance, Changmin ran after Junsu as fast as he had been able to. But he never found him that day. When he came back to the school, Yoochun was talking to some other men and Junho was busy talking on the phone. Changmin suspected it was Junsu he was talking to, but he couldn't be sure. When he had asked, the guy stayed silent and offered a compassionate smile.
Since he didn't want to talk to anyone beside Junsu at the moment, Changmin went back to the dressing room and waited. He avoided all the people coming toward him to greet or congratulate him. He waited for hours, hoping Junsu would come back eventually. His bag was still there, in the room to keep his hope up, but when Junho knocked and asked for it, he knew it was useless.
Changmin contemplated the possibility of following Junho, because he knew the twins would end up talking to each other sooner or later, but he also felt like Junsu wouldn't want to see him. He couldn't understand why, but he knew it.
Junsu was like his other half, that's why. They completed each other to be one. Changmin still wanted to believe they Would be one, one day.
When he came back home, he felt down, but he was tired enough to go to sleep, convinced he would talk with Junsu the day later.
But Junsu didn't show up. He didn't come to the training, he didn't answer his messages nor calls and he was nowhere near his usually spots. During the two following days, Changmin had called again and again, sent plenty of messages, went to his home and to Yoochun's, but he still had no news of Junsu.
Changmin couldn't feel more desperate at the time.
With a sigh, he palmed his face and tried to keep the faith. It couldn't end like this. Not so suddenly, not with no reason. His and Junsu's feelings were strong, he couldn't mistake about this. The moments they shared, the trust between them, this intimacy... it couldn't be nothing. His feelings were mutual, he couldn't have misunderstood Junsu's intentions, could he?
Lost in his thoughts, he took a moment to understand the song he could hear was actually his phone's ringtone. Surprised, he looked at his screen where Yunho's name appeared in bold letters.
“Oh Hyung. Annyeong,” he said flatly, as he picked up the call.
“You secretive child!” Yunho called him, half-scolding, half-laughing.
“Huh?!”
“I knew you were wasting your talents, but I can't believe you're such a great singer.” Yunho said again teasingly.
“What are you talking about?” Changmin frowned, surprised to hear him talk about this suddenly.
“In fact, the main question is 'How did you hide this from me? From everybody?'” The older asked again without answering any question.
“What?”
Changmin heard Yunho chuckle slightly and he finally answered with a soft voice.
“The video, this song.”
“The video...” Changmin repeated, more lost than ever, unable to understand where this conversation was going to.
“Yeah, it's getting pretty famous among the trainees. Many people call it your 'pre-debut revelation',” Yunho kindly explained. “I even heard it had been planned by the agency, is it true?”
As he listened to his explanation, Changmin frowned more. Eyebrows raised, he looked at his phone as if it would help him understand better the situation. Indeed, the agency planned things for him... but nobody was supposed to know and there was no reason for Yunho to suddenly bring up the topic.
“Planned? I don't get what you're talking about hyung.”
“This show you did, dongsaeng, don't tell me you forgot already.” Yunho playfully said.
“How do you know about that?” Changmin asked, a bit bothered as he noticed too many people seemed to know about it already.
“The agency showed the video to almost everybody. It made a big fuss.”
“What?! How come there is a video??” he cried out stunned.
“You didn't know?”
“No! I didn't... It wasn't supposed to...”
Then Changmin stayed silent for moment, lot of thoughts running through his mind.
“So, you're going to make début now, right?” Yunho called him back on earth. “Actually, I heard about your début before but I wasn't too sure what to think about it. I knew they didn't plan another rookie group any time soon and – no offence – I couldn't believe you would go by yourself.”
“Hyung...”
“Now I know I made a mistake. Because the rumour was surely true, you're going to debut.” More than a question, it was an affirmation, and the younger man didn't know what to answer to this.
“I...” Changmin started and stopped just as fast.
He swallowed and heard Yunho chuckle on the other side of the line.
“I know you can't say much, no worry. I w
