This painting always reminds me of him. Those hands struggling, bleeding, scratching each other. It might look pointless and sad for some ones but for me they are the best. I could stay hours watching them and thinking about the day I met him.
~
I started my after school routine, like the brat I was, of kicking the doors and turn upside down the desks of some classroom on the school. It was a pointless and bratish activity but fun for me at that time. I loved to see everybody going crazy about the mess the next day. That day I decided to go for the clubs’ classrooms. Music, theater, maths, etc. I made my way to the painting classroom, and when I was about to kick the door I saw someone was inside through the glass of it. This boy was facing the window, I could only see his back and the paint he was working on. I didn’t understand it so slowly I found myself entering the classroom to catch a better glimpse of it. The guy turned around abruptly at hearing my steps.
-Yah, you scared me! –He said.
-I'm sorry…
-Whatever. Are you taking this class? I have to tell you we still don’t have a tutor, so go home. –He said facing his painting again.
-I..actually I don’t.
-Uh- He looked at me up and down- I know you…You’re that troublemaker everyone talks about, Moon something.
-Junyoung. So am I that popular? – I laughed at my own popularity. - Where’s your teacher anyway?
-I don’t have. As I’m the only one taking this class they didn’t even care to provide a teacher, but they let me use the room to paint so I don’t care. The question is what are YOU doing here? You don’t seem like the painting type. –He faced his painting again.
-I was just…passing by. You caught my attention. –I lifted my eyebrow at how weird sounded that- I mean…the fact of you being here caught my attention.
-Whatever, stay if you want but in silence please. If I listen a single sound I can’t concentrate.

His name was Kim Dongjun and was 3 years younger than me and that explained why I hadn’t seen him around before. He was the calm type of guy, not really the kind of brat I used to hang out with. Maybe it was the fact that he was and artist but he had this aura, the kind of person you want to be around. And above all, he was beautiful. Every inch of him was art. His smile, his eyes, and the way he was so concentrated while painting; everything of him was pure art. I became a regular spectator of his session of painting. He didn’t bother my presence so I just stayed there watching him.
-So pretty – I muttered one day looking at his face.
-Uh? Do you like it? It’s not finished yet though. – He looked at me and I fake interest on the painting.
-Eh?...ah yes...of course.
-You should try painting, maybe you get to like it.
-I don’t think so, I barely write, so I don’t think so. – He gave a slight chuckle that made my head spin around and went back to his painting.

Months passed and Dongjun was becoming the only thing that matter every day. Being by his side was the only think that mattered to me. Things just went smoothly between us. He was not a fool, he knew I was there for a reason. One day on one of his 5-minutes-breaks, he took one of his brushes and got close to me. He took my face with one hand and with the other paint an X on my cheek. I looked at him shocked but I didn’t respond, just did the same he did and planted a kiss on his cheek. Since that day we knew we were together.
~
-What are you painting now? – I said resting my head on his shoulder as he was working.
-Two people fighting.
-What? I don’t get it. I can’t understand where one body and the other starts.
-It’s a symbolisms. You don’t need to understand because you’re dumb.
-Yah! Try me!
-Ok – He rolled his eyes- see these are the hands, and the arms, there’s blood and you can see they are pushing each other.
-Ah… I like it.
-Tsch. I don’t believe you, but I like your white lies.- He tickled his head and kissed me.
-Anyway, I think you should paint less scary things, huh.
-Like what, master?
-Mmm…-I turned his body to face me and whisper to his ear- Like two people making love.
-You’d like that, don’t you? – He laughed softly- Ok, maybe after I finish this I would paint that for you. – He sticked his tongue out and faced his painting again.
-Yah, you! Stop ignoring me!

That day I came late to the classroom he was sat looking at the window with a box on his side.
-What’s with you?
-Ah, you’re here. –He turned to greet me – I was waiting for you.
-uh? What’s the matter?
-This, this is for you. – He passed me the box-
-Ok. –
I took it and watched it a bit perplexed. He looked at me a bit anxious so I unwrapped the box. I opened it and smiled automatically at his content. The painting of the bleeding hands was perfectly finished.
-This is for me?
-You said you liked it. I tried to finished it the faster I could so it’s not perfect but..
-No. It’s perfect. Really is perfect, I love it. I love it so much.
-Ok. –He blushed furiously and I hugged him the tightest I could.
-I love you.

This piece of art can’t be compared to anything. Every day it reminds me of that love, of that kindness that can never be replaced by any other. Looking at it as I grow older has gave me strength and faith to go on. So many years passed and even though I still don’t know how to paint, I do appreciate this as the most beautiful piece of art on this life.
-Yah! Moon Junyoung, staring again on that piece of ? That was the worst thing I’ve painted in my entire life, so embarrassing you still have it.
-I love it
-Tsch. One of this day I’m so throwing it away.
-If you do that I’ll kill you, Kim Dongjun.
-Whatever! –He left our bedroom, nagging again at me because I still have this with me... and I always will.
