Ramen Date

Body Language

Jiho’s apartment was exactly what Eunmi had thought it would look like, yet, just cleaner. She was surprised at how everything was put away, and not much mess was laid about. She had seen a few male only households and was disgusted by the mess they left behind.

“Sorry for the mess, I didn’t think you would agree to come over.” Jiho said as he scratched the back of his neck.

Eunmi just waved off his comment and took a seat on one of the couches in his living room. She sunk in low and reveled at the feeling of comfort – now if only she could get out of her dress. She looked around his living room in curiosity. He had a normal sized flat screen TV, and a decent stereo system, but what made Eunmi sit up in slight surprised was his impressive CD and record collection. She walked over to it – aware that Jiho was watching her – and skimmed through the titles. She trailed a finger down the CD’s and stopped at a few, tapping them with a small smile.

At least her future husband had great taste in music.

“Sorry that I don’t own any classical music… I promise I’ll buy some once we get married.” Jiho said from the kitchen. Eunmi closed her eyes and sighed inwardly as she let her hand fall. She hated classical music, it was only a cover so that her father would never find out about her real love of music.

Jiho noticed how stiff she got once he mentioned the classical music. He watched as her hand fell down to her side, and how her head hung low. Why the sudden change in body language?

Eunmi collected herself and turned around, smiling at him with a small smile. Hopefully he didn’t notice her sudden mood change.

“So… ramen?” Jiho asked as he gives a small smile and walks into the small kitchen.

Eunmi followed him and leaned against the counter as she watched him move about his kitchen. She couldn’t help but notice how his shirt became taunt over his muscular shoulders and back as he bent and reached over. Jiho looked back at her, as if waiting for an answer.

“Oh.” Eunmi said as she felt a slight blush cover her cheeks. “I haven’t had ramen since my… since my mother died.” She replied as she looked up at Jiho.

“What?!” He exclaimed in disbelief.

Eunmi shrugged sheepishly with a small smile. “She used to take me out after school for some at her favorite restaurant.”

Jiho was quiet as he watched her. She had a distance in her gaze and she smiled a small smile. He felt guilty for bringing up the topic, he should have just left it.

“Well – mine won’t be as good as that restaurant, but I promise to take you one day.” He said with a genuine smile.

Eunmi’s gaze seemed to refocus on Jiho and she stared at him. Why was he being so nice to her? She was a stranger to him, and a stranger with a complicated and messy past.

“That would be nice.” She said with a shy smile. It was strange to her to already be making future plans – even though small and non-important – with someone.

Jiho turned back around and began making the ramen. It wasn’t long before Jiho was setting a steaming post ramen on his table and Eunmi began to salivate. She quickly picked up her chopsticks and leaned in so that she could get the first bite, but she was suddenly stopped when Jiho intersected hers.

“Yah!” He said playfully. Eunmi looked up in surprised and quickly shrank back in her seat and looked down at her lap.

“I didn’t mean it in that way, Eunmi!” Jiho said quickly as he saw that she had shrank back. “I was just joking. Please eat.” Jiho said again as he reached over and handed her back her chop sticks.

Eunmi looked up and took them tentatively. Jiho instantly regretted opening his mouth.

“Please eat. I’m really sorry.” Jiho said over at Eunmi who finally raised her head to look at him. She gave him a small smile.

“Lets eat before the noodles get soggy.” Eunmi replied as she took the chopsticks and began to eat.

Jiho watched as she expertly twirled the noodles around her sticks and blew on the still steaming noodles. Her eyes sparkled as she stared down at the food, and she smiled before she finally let the noodles into with a loud and satisfying slurp.

“Mmmm…” She moaned in pleasure as her taste buds exploded. She leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes as she savored the taste. Jiho watched her with a small amused smile.

“That good?” Jiho said with a small scoff. He then dug his chopsticks in to the pot and began to eat as Eunmi opened her eyes and watched him eat.

“So good.” She said.

Till the pot was empty they took turns back and forth eating out of the pot in silence. It was a comfortable silence between two people who we’re hungry. They scared the occasional giggle and moan from the delicious food, but that was as far the conversation went. But once the food was all gone, they sat, leaning in the chairs and looking at each other, a satisfied smile plastered on her faces.

“I’ll do the washing.” Eunmi said as she stood up and grabbed the pot.

Jiho quickly stood up and stopped her by gently grabbing her wrist. “Don’t – you’ll get your dress dirty.” He said.

Eunmi looked down at her dress and then back up at Jiho. He did have a point, but he did cook for her.

“Don’t worry – It’ll be fine.” She said trying to sound reassuring. Jiho just shook his head.

“If you insist, at least change into something. Let me lend you some clothing.” He said as he took her wrist and pulled her out of the kitchen and down a small hall into a room.

Eunmi stood in the rather small room. At one end was a small double bed with a laptop at one end, and notebooks littered the floor on the side. One the other side stood two rows of clothing racks filled to the brim. She watched him as he rummaged though a small bin, pulling out a pair of black sweat pants. Then he moved to his clothing rack and pulled another black t-shirt from its hanger.

“They’ll probably be big – but its better then getting your dress dirty.” He said as he handed them to her. “I’ll go wait for you in the other room, you can change in here.” He said with a small shy smile as he walked out of his room and closed the door.

Eunmi stood there for a few second before she slipped out of her dress – which was tight and uncomfortable, and pulled on Jiho’s clothing. He was right it was obviously way too big, but she felt like she could breath. She pulled her hair back into a bun, and tentatively left his room and made her way back to the main living area.

She found him sitting on the couch with a notebook open in his lap, and he was scratching his head with the pencil as he looked deep in though. He looked up when he heard the floorboards creak as Eunmi made her way back, and he couldn’t help but stare back.

He had heard his friends say how their girlfriends look so much hotter when they wore their clothing, but Jiho never believed that. He thought, how can girls look hot in boy clothing, yet seeing Eunmi, looking small and shy in his clothing made her look so much ier then when she wore her tight dresses.

“Thank you.” Eunmi began as she pulled at the loose clothing. “For the clothing…” she continued when Jiho didn’t say anything. She cleared and awkwardly which brought Jiho back to reality.

“Come and sit down. I already washed the pot.” He said. He gave her a small smile as he closed his journal.

Eunmi approached him cautiously and sat down at the other end of the love seat. She felt somewhat uncomfortable, being so close to… well a stranger. They remained silent for a few minutes until Eunmi with the last bit of nerves she had spoke.

“How about we play a game?” She suggested as she turned around and looked at Jiho. He turned to her with raised brows.

“What kind of game are you suggesting?” Jiho asked with a mischievous little smile. Eunmi rolled her eyes at his obvious innuendo.

“Since we don’t really know each other… how about 20 confessions?” Eunmi knew that this proposed game could go terrible wrong, yet it was the only way she thought she could break the silence and at the same time, get to know the real Jiho.

“Can I suggest a rule?” Jiho asked as he down fully pivoted his body so that he sat directly in front of Eunmi – only inches apart. Eunmi nodded and Jiho continued. “Only honest, truthful and meaningful confessions – none of that my favorite color stuff.”

“Well, that was quite obvious.” Eunmi replied with a small chuckle. Jiho nodded and waited. “Rock, paper, scissors?” Eunmi prompted as she held out her fist.

Jiho smiled and they battled to who would confess first, and unfortunately Jiho won – meaning that Eunmi would have to confess first. She sighed as she thought of what she should confess.

“I – I don’t like classical music.” Eunmi confessed, relishing in the feeling of getting it off her chest. “I mean, I don’t mind it, but it’s not what I listen to everyday.” She watched as Jiho’s face morphed from surprised to curious.

“What do you listen to then?” He asked. His whole body language changed, as he leaned forward closer to Eunmi, who unconsciously leaned closer also.

“Don’t laugh…” She began, and when she saw that Jiho shook his head she took a deep breath. “I… I listen to underground rap.”

Jiho was silent as he stared at her some more. “You’re joking right?” He said in disbelief.

Eunmi just shook her head and with a small confident smile she stood up, made her way to his music rack and pulled out one of her favorite albums. She walked back, folding herself on the couch and handed him the album.

“This is one of my favorite albums that I can listen to all day.” She said with an admiring smile. Jiho looked down at the CD then back at her, his mouth hanging slightly agape.

“No way!” He exclaimed with a laugh, looking back up at her with a genuine smile. “That’s amazing – this is a classic!” He exclaimed. “Wait – so if you listen to underground rap, have you heard of me?” He asked suddenly curious and somewhat apprehensive.

“Hmm… I don’t think I have. What’s your street name?” She asked, suddenly curious about the whole situation.

“I go under the name of Zico. I’ve done some work with Kim Fana and my friend Beenzino…” He said, and watched as her eyes slightly bulged, in recognition.

“I have!” She exclaimed with a smile. “Whaa, what a small world.” She said in amazement. She looked at him with more admiration, and couldn’t help but let her heart flutter. “Ok… ok your turn.” She said shyly as she looked down.

Jiho looked at her and couldn’t help but smile. He was going to marry someone who knew his music and knew the music he loved – could he have gotten a worse outcome.

“I really want to kiss you right now.” He blurted out before he could stop himself.

Eunmi’s head snapped up and she looked at him surprised. She was about to say something, when Jiho cut her off.

“Sorry – that was really impulsive, but I guess its an honest confession…” He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. A pink hue crept up his face as he tried to avoid her eyes, and he suddenly began to inwardly curse himself for not being more attentive to his words.

“Well… I mean we are getting married next week… it would be very awkward and embarrassing if, if we didn’t practice…” Eunmi said as she tried to rationalize Jiho’s answer and her own growing want.

Jiho looked up at her with a smirk, and confidently patted his lap motioning her to come closer. Eunmi swallowed hard as she inched her way closer to him, wiping her sweaty palms on his shirt.

It wasn’t as if she never kissed someone before, she just never kissed someone she actually really liked, and she got the feeling that she was about to fall very hard for this Woo Jiho.

As she approached him, Jiho grabbed her by the hips and maneuvered her so that she was straddling his lap. She let out a small squeal of surprise, but then she was silenced when she came face to face with a very very handsome face. She took in every detail, his thick tempting lips, his rather large characteristic nose, his expressive eyebrows, but what really made her melt was his eyes. His cat like eyes, with his deep brown eyes, and his beauty marks that trailed around them. She instinctively brushed her fingers over the marks, in fascination.

She smiled as she looked at his eyes, which were staring right back at her, and she couldn’t help but blush a light pink. And when she stole a glance down at his lips, Jiho took that moment to capture hers. It was a soft and tentative kiss at first, and when Jiho pulled away, unsure of her reaction Eunmi pouted and pulled away.

“After confessing, that’s all your going to do?” Eunmi stated somewhat annoyed at being lead on. “Was this just a trail or something?” Her brows knitted in a cute way and Jiho couldn’t help but smile as he leaned back in and capture her lips once more – this time with more vigor.

This time, Eunmi kissed him back, whilst trailing a hand through his hair. She didn’t know what had passed through her, but kissing Jiho just felt right. Her mind blanked and only focused on the feeling of Jiho on her. She was hyper sensitive to how his hands moved up and down her sides like a ghost, almost scared to fully touch her, and she was aware of how his breathing began to hitch when she s her hand though his soft black locks.

“Tell me… tell me if you want to stop.” He said as he pulled away, but this time it was Eunmi who kissed Jiho back.

Her body felt like it was melting against his, their heat combined felt comfortable and right, and she didn’t want the kiss to stop. Jiho taking the hint, playfully nibbled on her bottom lip and Eunmi instinctively opened so that his tongue could explore hers. She relished in the feeling of the kiss, and she subconsciously let out a small quiet moan.

They weren’t sure how long they were kissing for, but it was certain that they would have gone on longer if a shrill voiced didn’t break them apart.

“I think you should defiantly stop.” Yoora stated in a loud, annoyed and raged filled voice.

Chapter 14: Of all I have read, this is by far the best fanfic that involves Jiho :) other ones have him being a complete , but this one shows gentle, caring sides which I really enjoy reading. Please continue when you have a chance, and I hope your study is going well!
P.s this will probably be the only fanfic I'll ever comment on, that goes to show how intriguing your ideas and storyline is. I would like to say that I hope nothing happens between Beenzino and her, but tbh everyone needs some kind of interference since Yoora is gone.
Keep up the good work! Here and at Uni :)
