Junhyung didn’t go to parties. You didn’t even catch him flirting. Truthfully, it scared you a bit. *Why did his behavior change so suddenly? Is it because he’s really sick?*
A few weeks later, the doctor called for the results. Junhyung told the manager to cancel his schedule for the day without giving a reason. He came out of his apartment and headed to his car.
Junhyung stopped when he saw a figure by his car. *Is it a fan?* He squinted his eyes.
You looked up, and his eyes rounded.
Smiling, you waved.
Junhyung came over, “What are you doing here? I canceled my schedule today.”
“I know. You’re going to the hospital now, right?” You asked. He was quiet. “I’ll go with you. It’s better than going alone.” You offered.
Junhyung was stuck between telling you to go home and telling you to get in the car.
“Come on. I’ll be there with you.” You softly said.
Junhyung caved in. “Get in.”
You smiled and got into the car. He drove to the hospital. Junhyung put his hat and sunglasses on so that no one would recognize him. You followed him into the hospital and up the escalators to the doctor’s office. He reached out but couldn’t bear to touch the doorknob.
“Do you…want me to open it for you?” You asked.
Junhyung couldn’t hear you. The blood was rushing through his ears and he could only hear his loud heartbeat.
You lightly put a hand on his shoulder, “It’ll be okay.”
Junhyung relaxed at your touch. With courage, he opened the door.
The doctor looked up, “Oh. Hello, Mr. Yong Junhyung-shi. Take a seat, please.” You and Junhyung sat down.
