Chapter 8

Song Ji sat at a small bar in her long coat and was wearing sunglasses. She drank 4 bottles of Soju and just sat there by herself.
“Ji Eun…” Kris called out to her. Ji Eun got up and tried to walk straight but lost balance and fell into Kris’s arms.
“Don’t touch me!” JI Eun Slurred on her words as she pulled herself out of his arms.
Kris followed her a while. She sat down at a bus stop and began to cry.
“I have loved him for 6 years. I have never stopped. But why won’t he come back to me?” Ji Eun sobbed. She covered her face with her hands.
Kris looked away. He couldn’t bear to see the person he loved cry.
Kris carried the drunken Ji Eun to her dorm.
“Do you still love her?” Hana asked Kris.
“Yes. I do.” Kris said moving her hair out of her face.
“She still hasn’t let go of him…” Hana sighed before leaving them.
Hana drank the cup of water in one go. She did not like seeing Ji Eun in so much pain, but she was the one who chose that path. She did not have to sacrifice herself for his happiness.
Kris came out of the room sighing.
“Just wait a little longer. She will eventually turn to you…” Hana encouraged Kris.
Kris smiled and left the dorm. He had other things on his mind. His contract for SM was going to expire in a few months. He wasn’t happy with the contract. He barely got screen time and also rarely got any lines. He was getting tired of this unequal life.
Ha Jeong arrived home.
“This is apparently for you…” Young Jae said bringing a large basket filled with flowers, chocolates and candies.
Ha Jeong saw a small note.
‘Ha Jeong-ah…
I will understand if you don’t come but…
In front of EVERLAND 2PM
This Friday…’
Ha Jeong sighed before taking the basket into her room and left the card on the table.
Youngjae and Daehyun watched Ha Jeong walk inside and spotted the note on the table.
“OMG!!!” Ha Jeong is going on a date!!” Daehyun yelled. Everyone came running and looked at the note.
Yongguk looked at the note and walked off to Ha Jeong’s room.
“Are you going to go?” Yongguk asked. Ha Jeong turned around and stared at Yongguk.
“Why? Do you not want me to go…?” Ha Jeong joked.
Yongguk shrugged and walked away.
Ha Jeong for some reason wanted to go but didn’t want to go. To be honest she didn’t know what she wanted. A small part of her wanted Yongguk to stop her from going.
Yongguk walked into his room. A part of him wanted to say ‘Don’t go…’ but another side of him didn’t want to say that. He brushed back his hair with his hands and sat on his bed covering his face.
Ha Jeong began to type away on her computer.
“The forgotten lover…” She began to type up the title.
It was the first book she had begun to write in ages. She saved the file and began to type away.
“Sometimes people forget that we are humans too. Wetoo go through heartbreaks, one sided love and bad relationships…- Jung Daehyun”
Ha Jeong was coming out of the dance practise room when she saw Daehyun sighing deeply on the seats.
“What’s wrong? Are you not satisfied with the breakfast I made today?” Ha Jeong asked.
“No. It’s just, forget.” Daehyun said standing up and leaving.
“You like Iseul don’t you?” Ha Jeong shouted. Daehyun ran over and covered Ha Jeong’s mouth.
Daehyun shushed Ha Jeong before taking his hand off .
“I am friend zoned.” Daehyun sobbed.

Daehyun and Iseul were laughing as they prepared for their duet. They finally decided to take a break and Iseul stared at Daehyun.
“Daehyun I have something to say.” Iseul smiled.
Daehyun’s heart started to beat faster.
“What is it?” Daehyun barely managed to say without squeaking.
“You are a really good friend. Let’s be best friends forever…” Iseul said playfully punching Daehyun.
Daehyun had stopped listening. His soul had left his body.

“You sad person…” Ha Jeong stared at Daehyun in disbelief.
“Help me!” Daehyun grabbed Ha Jeong by the collar.
“Calm down. Iseul likes bad guys who are cold and charismatic.” Ha Jeong looked Daehyun up and down.
“You are nowhere there…” Ha Jeong said shaking her head.
“I can be cold.” Daehyun stood up in confidence and walked off.
Ha Jeong smiled to herself. She looked at the time. There was about 2 hours before the date.
She sighed before getting up only to see Ji Eun standing in front of her with her arms crossed with an unpleasant look.
“Why did you kiss him?” Ji Eun asked looking pissed.
“It was a onetime thing…”Ha Jeong said.
“I told you not to get involved with him-“Ji Eun got cut off.
“Look! Nothing is ever going to happen he is still hung up on you after the break up. Be nicer to him…Don’t play with him.” Ha Jeong then got up and walked towards the station to catch the bus to Everland.
She arrived there and saw Jin Woo standing in front of the entrance. Ha Jeong sighed before walking towards him. Jin Woo turned and smiled at her. He pulled out a single rose. Ha Jeong smiled and took the flower but didn’t say anything.
“I will go and buy the tickets first.” Jin Woo then walked to go and get the tickets. Ha Jeong sighed before looking at the rose.
“This isn’t my favourite flower. I never got to tell him that. After all I got dated him for 6 months but it felt like they were dating for 6 years.” Ha Jeong said.
They headed inside and had a lot of fun on the rides. They went on scary rides and romantic rides and peaceful rides. Ha Jeong did have a lot of fun. They were walking towards the exit when they were called over to the middle by a MC and a crew of Cameramen.
“Are you too a couple?” The MC asked.
“Yes we are.” Jin Woo smiled before putting an arm around Ha Jeong.
“Would you like to take part in the Couple game? You just need to; using your mouth make the Peppro as short as possible the person with the shortest Peppro will win two tickets to the musical.” The MC explained.
Ha Jeong and Jin Woo started to move in towards each other. Ha Jeong could feel Jin Woo’s breathe on her but her heart did not beat as fast as she thought it would.
“0.3 cm! We have our winners.” The MC announced as he handed them the award.
Jin Woo gave it to Ha Jeong.
“You can keep it and go with her best friend…” Jin Woo smiled.
Ha Jeong was blanking out.
Yongguk watched them from the TV. Yongguk didn’t know why but he was getting annoyed. He turned off the TV and was about to walk to his room when he heard a knock on his door. He opened the door.
“Yongguk. Just listen to me I am not here to start anything. I am just here to give the Pendant back.” Ji Eun just then gave him the pendant and turned around to leave but Yongguk called out to her.
“Do you want to go to a nearby café?” Yongguk asked. Ji Eun smiled brightly.
Yongguk and Ji Eun sat at the table they always sat at.
“Remember we always used to sit here.” Ji Eun smiled.
“Yea. I remember.” Yongguk replied but he couldn’t help but keep thinking.
‘Why I am I here? Do I really want to start things up again with Ji Eun?’
He watched Ji Eun talk and he causally replied back to everything but he just couldn’t focus on her and kept thinking on the scene when Ha Jeong and Jin Woo almost kissed. He felt annoyed and irritated thinking about it; and he hated himself for that because Ji Eun who he loved much more was sitting in front of him trying to patch thing up with him but he couldn’t stop thinking about Ha Jeong.
Suddenly the door opened and Ha Jeong and Jin Woo entered the café. Yongguk had now stopped listening to Ji Eun and continuously stared at Ha Jeong. Ha Jeong saw Yongguk and Ji Eun sitting together and sighed deeply before sitting opposite Jin Woo.
Ha Jeong tried her best to ignore Yongguk and Ji Eun but she couldn’t help but keep listening to Yongguk’s conversation. She hated herself. The person she loved most was sitting in front of her and talking to her but she just couldn’t concentrate on what he was saying to her.
Yongguk couldn’t help but keep glancing at Ha Jeong. He just couldn’t pay attention to Ji Eun. He couldn’t understand himself. Why was all his attention diverted to Ha Jeong?
Ji Eun started to get irritated and lost her patience. She purposely knocked over her not so hot coffee and spilt it on Yongguk’s pants area.
“Oh my goodness I am so sorry.” Ji Eun Apologised and got a tissue and began to clean his pants.
Ha Jeong and Jin Woo turned to look at Ji Eun and Yongguk. She didn’t want her to touch him. She didn’t like them being so casual with their skin ship. Ha Jeong stood up and just left the café. Jin Woo ran after her.
“Ha Jeong what’s wrong?” Jin Woo yelled after her.
“Jin Woo! I loved you. I think I still do but I don’t love you more than-“Ha Jeong got cut off by Jin woo.
“It’s okay.I already know. But can’t you give me another chance to make you fall for me again like the first time we met?” Jin Woo asked.
Ha Jeong looked at Yongguk and Ji Eun still sitting in the café and nodded and Jin Woo hugged her.
“I will make you feel happy.” Jin Woo said smiling.
Yongguk stared at them from inside the café. He didn’t want Jin Woo to hug her, he wanted to hug her.
