Overheard

Orange Sky

You overheard their conversation.

“For your information, Miss Kim Hye Li has a heart ailment, Hepatitis B. So, her life span is not very long if she doesn’t find a heart donor in two weeks from now. Her blood type is AB. It’s quite easy to find the donor but this is heart not blood. It’s quite rare to find a heart donor now. The heart transfers will be in Tokyo, Japan because we don’t have enough equipment” He informs.

“Actually, we already know she had the Hepatitis B since she was in elementary school but we never inform her. We don’t want she gets scared and hopeless,” explain your parents.

“How could you both do that to me?” You open the door and enter in by pulling your wheelchair yourself towards them.

“How could you both secret the important thing from me? You both don’t love me. You both want me die. You both think me as a burden all this while,” you turn back and pull your wheelchair outside and lead yourself to a small garden at the hospital area.

You cry hardly while hitting your pain heart, you fanning yourself by your own hijab and wipe your tears. You’re sobbing when you’re thinking about the all the lies.

“Hye Li!” Hong Ki calls for you.

“Go away, Abi! I’m sick because of the lie. You love to see me die right?” You say in sarcastic.

“Hye Li, it’s me, Hong Ki!” You turn and look at him, surprised.

“Oh, you! I’m sorry for being too harsh to you,” you say in guilty.

“Oh, it’s okay. But why you seem too emotional now?” he asks you gently for the first time.

“Family matter,” you say without hesitate.

“Hye Li, what is your full name?” he asks, suddenly.

“Oh, my Korean name is Kim Hye Li but my Islamic name is Nur Suhaila Kim,” you smile in pain while opening your purdah slowly.

“Oh Islamic name still can put the family name.”

“Mr. Lee Hong Ki, Islam does not forcing someone. We can still use the name of family, it doesn’t matter at all,” you say.

“You can open that purdah in front of me? Islam doesn’t forbid it?” He asks.

“Not and I can reveal my face and palm to unknown person,” you say.

“You’ve a very good look, Hye Li,” he praises.

“I think that’s why my principal asks her students to wear purdah. To get away from slander,” you chuckle.

You cough badly until there is some blood flowing from your throat and out from your mouth.

“Hye Li, blood!” he says.

“It’s okay!” You say to be strong.

“Wait for a minute, I’ll get you some drinking water. Don’t go anywhere,” he runs away and within a minute, he comes to you back.

“Here your drink, cold drink can contract your internal wound,” he passes you a bottle of cold mineral water and tissue paper.

“Thank you,” you thank him and wipe the blood then drink the water slowly.

“Are you sick? Do you’ve any bad sickness? Please answer me truth!” He asks.

You just shake your head.

“Are you sure?” He asks same like the way of Dr. Lee asked you last time.

“Yes!”

“Kim Hye Li, don’t go away from us!” You heard your parents shouting your name.

“Hong Ki, you better go now! My parents don’t like I befriend with non-Muslim especially with a guy. Go now! Hide or what!” you push him away gently.

“Meet on the other day!” He says delightful.

“I’m not sure if there still have another days for me,” You say upset.

“Ha?” he questions.

“Nothing!” You smile.

He runs away from you.

Chapter 10: First of all congratulation for this story and I admit it it is a nice story and it's a good try from you my dear. But, I would like to correct some mistake here. Hepatitis B is not a heart ailment, it's a disease that associate with liver. Second, heart cannot be separated into half like kidney, people will still alive if they donate one of their kidney but if they donate their heart, they will no longer alive. That's all :) and I know you have this writing talent and I wish you all the best for the future. Keep writing ok
