Behind The Bookshelf"Whaaa." I said, turning to look around in the restricted vault.
Minho nodded, smiling. "Aren't they beautiful?" he asked, sighing enchantedly.
"My gosh, they're...they're amazing!"
Around us, in a dark room blocked from the world, were thousands of exquisite diamonds, with all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes.
We walked around, and Minho pointed out a few of his favorites, a small purple one, a circular silver one, and an oddly shaped rainbow colored diamond he called his "ultimate favorite".
"So, why are these down here? Why can't everyone see them?" I asked.
Minho shook his head. "Well for one, if they're in the light, their vibrance isn't as enhanced. See how dark it is? It makes them shine even brighter. And also just because they are worth so much, security would have to be way too tight, and right now the museum can't afford that. We're lucky enough that the museum owns them." Minho smiled. "Do you like them?"
I nodded my head. "They're...so beautiful." I said.
"Just like you." Minho whispered.
I turned around, my eyes wide. "W-what?"
Minho looked down at his feet. "You know, I usually don't trust someone enough to show them things like this, that mean so much to me. But you, well, just like these diamonds, you shine, even in the darkness of the world. You're special."
I felt my face get warm, and I brought my hands to my cheeks to cover my blushing. "Thank you...so much." I exclaimed, unable to control my smiling.
Minho bowed. "My pleasure." he said, then guided me to look at some more diamonds.
But my attention wouldn't focus on the diamonds now. Rather, I couldn't help but think about what he had just said. I was...special? For the rest of the day, there wasn't a moment I wasn't smiling.
“How are the patients?” A doctor asked.
“The girl is fine, with minor injuries. However…her head…she hit it pretty hard. There’s no saying as to how her condition is going to be once she wakes up. We’re keeping a close eye on it.”
“And the woman?”
The other doctor shook his head. “She didn’t make it.”
The doctor sighed, rubbing his temple. “What about the boy?” he asked.
“I’m not sure. The only family we know of is his aunt, who lives in the U.S. We’re doing our best to contact her. That may be his only choice.”
The doctor nodded, taking out a pen and pad. “What is the boy’s name?”
“Choi Minho, sir.”
