Mei Li had asked if she wanted to go to Music Bank today since she had no school, and of course, the kpop fan agreed. She didn’t get to go to Exo’s comeback stage, but at least she’d be able to go to this performance.

Jessica had given them a ride since she wanted to go support her boyfriend as well. When the reporters first caught Jessica and Kris holding hands coming out of the hospital before, they hadn’t made any official statement regarding their relationship with each other. But like the man he was, Kris didn’t want to hide anymore and he told them straight up in an interview, ‘Yes, I am dating SNSD’s Jessica.’

SM didn’t have as strict of a dating ban as people thought. They would rather have their idols date secretly if they could help it, but if it got out, they’d find ways to deal with it. Since Jessica and Kris are from the same label, there weren’t many sasaeng fans that went crazy because of the news. Mei Li and Luhan didn’t have too much trouble with it either.

And then there was Anne.

Will the fans accept it if Tao and I go public with our relationship?

She had always wondered what the answer to that question would be. And truthfully, one of the other reasons as to why she didn’t really want to reveal their relationship to anyone was because she was scared that the fans wouldn’t accept it. She wasn’t exactly worried for herself, but for Tao. His popularity could drop because of her, and he may even be ridiculed for dating a high school student.

“Anne, are you okay?” someone nudged her.

Anne snapped out of her daze and blurted. “Huh?”

“You were so excited a minute ago and now you seem really deep in thought,” Mei Li pointed out. “Is something wrong?”

“Oh it’s nothing,” Anne smiled. “I think my brain’s just not processing the fact that I’m here at Music Bank right now, haha.”

Jessica laughed and poked Mei Li. “Don’t worry,” she told Anne. “Your sister was like that too.”

“Hey!” Mei Li whined.

“Noonas!” a voice called.

They all turned to see Taemin coming over to them. “And hello to you too, Anne,” he smiled kindly. “Long time no see.”

“Hello Taemin-ssi,” Anne greeted him. “Yea, it’s been a while.”

“So you two noonas are here to support your boyfriends and you dragged Anne along?” Taemin let out a fake gasp. “That’s not nice of you!”

“Hey, she wanted to come!” Jessica retorted.

“Are you here to support Exo too?” Mei Li asked.

“That, and because I’m one of the emcees today,” Taemin explained.

“Taemin, get ready! You have to go on soon!” one of the staff members shouted.

He turned to leave but Mei Li stopped him. “Wait, don’t tell Exo that we’re here. I want it to be a surprise.”

He nodded understandingly and left.

“Doesn’t Luhan oppa know you’re here?” Anne asked.

“No, I lied to him and said I was too busy to come,” Mei Li smiled sheepishly.

“Then how about you, Jessica unnie? Does Kris oppa know?”

Jessica frowned. “He never even asked if I was coming,” she explained. “He always tries to keep his ‘cool’ image so he never says stuff like that.”

Anne and Mei Li chuckled and took a seat on the couch, watching the tv screen that showed the live broadcast.

All of Exo seemed really nervous when they were being interviewed by Taemin before their performance. But once it was their turn to get on stage, their expressions instantly changed.

Anne had probably watched the music video a thousand times, so she knew when everyone’s parts were. She kept her eyes on Tao and couldn’t help but grin whenever it was his part, especially when he would jump and throw a punch.

She still couldn’t get over the fact that he looked so charismatic on stage, but he was so…immature in person.

When it was time for the winner to be announced, the girls couldn’t take their eyes off the screen. Exo was one of the finalists.

Jinwoon took a look at his cue card and smiled, preparing to announce the winner.

“Please please please…” Mei mumbled, her hands clasped tougher.

Anne was also nervous. She held her breath and crossed her fingers as she stared at the numbers flying across the screen.

“And the winner is…Exo! Congratulations!”

Mei Li and Jessica immediately shot up from their seats and squealed, hugging each other. Anne heaved a sigh of relief and grinned proudly.

The second they were announced as the winners, Tao’s arms shot up in victory, and all the other members stared blankly like their souls had left them. As the fans kept cheering and Jinwoon handed Suho the mic and trophy, tears started to fall.

Suho couldn’t stop sniffling as he listed off all the people they had to thank: the SM staff, the CEO, Exo’s parents, etc… He kept repeating the same thing over and over again, so Sehun snatched the mic from him.

“We’d also like to thank Mei Mei noona! I’m sure Luhan hyung wanted to say this, but he’s too shy to. And of course, Kris hyung wants to thank Sica noona!” Sehun grinned, ignoring the surprised looks from his hyungs.

“Awww, they said our names,” Jessica couldn’t help but smile.

Anne looked over at the unnies and saw how happy they were after being acknowledged as strength for Exo, and particularly their boyfriends. She sighed quietly. I wish I was mentioned too.

As Exo finished their acceptance speech, the music to ‘Wolf’ started playing again for their encore performance. Soon, it ended, and the girls were waiting for Exo to return to the waiting room.

The door burst open and in came all of Exo, some still blubbering and crying, while others couldn’t wipe the grin off their faces. “Oppa, congratulations!” Mei Li sprinted over to Luhan.

He instantly turned to her and lifted her up in his arms, smiling like an idiot. “I thought you couldn’t come,” he stated, shocked.

“I lied. See, I’m getting better at lying!” Mei Li laughed.

Luhan smiled and hugged her tightly.

Kris went over to Jessica and without any words, he hugged her gently.

Anne suddenly felt awkward so she decided to move away from them. Suddenly, a pair of arms swung around her waist and lifted her up into the air. “Anne, I’m so happy!”
