I took the spoon and fed him my grandmother's homely porridge.

 

He smiled and chewed happily,"Mm,its nicer this way."

 

"You're kidding right?"

Daehyun held the spoon to my mouth and I ate.

 

My eyes widened slightly,it really tasted nicer.

 

"Haha,told you."

 

I took the spoon and ate it myself,"Oh,waeyo?"

 

"Tastes boring when you eat it alone right?Ah~"

 

I fed him the porridge and stared at him."Can I ask you something?"

 

"Anything."

 

"Okay,why are the gangsters after you?"

 

"You're finally curious,money."

"What else?My dad's company failed and now we're barely surviving,so whenever they see me they beat me up as some warning or reminder that I'm supposed to pay,or else."

 

"But you're already beaten up anyway."

I fed him,"So what?Are you working?"

 

He nodded,"My father just set up a small stall,I go over to help most of the time to help with deliveries."

I shoved the spoon in his mouth,"I might just break your teeth,stop it."

I giggled,"Only because you're being an idiot okay?"

 

"Aish ah~"I fed him and my phone rang,"Yeoboseyo?"

 

"Sonnyeo ah,its late,where are you?"

 

I checked my watch,"Oh mianhe,lost track of time,I'll go home now."

 

"Oh,be careful okay?"

I hung up and Daehyun watched me,"Going home?Already?"

 

"I have to be home by ten,or I'm going to die from exhaustion tomorrow."

 

"Eyy,at least finish feeding me."

 

I glanced at him,I really don't know why I'm tolerating this guy,but it was somehow fun.

 

"Mm,open up."He smiled and I fed him.

 

After everything,I locked up and Daehyun walked me home.

 

"So you live with your grandfather?"I nodded.

 

"Your grandmother-"

 

"She passed on."

 

"Oh,sorry about that."

 

I smiled,"Kwenchana,that homely porridge,she taught me how to cook it."

 

"Jeongmal?"

 

"Mm."

 

"Ah,I didn't mean to bring back memories by asking you to-"

 

"Yah,kwenchana,I like cooking that porridge."

 

"Oh."

 

"So,what about you?You live with your dad?"

 

"Yeah,and my older brother and mum."

 

"So you're the one getting beaten up and your older brother just slacks?"

 

He laughed,"Ani,my brother is working hard to earn money,so we hardly see him,but he always brings back a sum to help us cope and tide over."

 

"Okay."

 

"What about you?Your parents?"

 

"They don't stay with me,I have,what's that,issues?"

 

"Ah,okay."

 

We reached my apartment and Daehyun handed my bags to me,"Okay then,goodnight pretty."

 

I eyed him,"I should just punch you harder next time."

 

He chuckled,"What?You want me to call you ugly?"

 

I glared at him and he laughed,"So just accept my compliments okay?I'll see you tomorrow."

 

I nodded and turned to my door,"Whatever."

 

"Yah."

 

I turned back and Daehyun hugged me,"I'll miss you."

 

I stared blankly,what's he doing?He pulled away and I saw him typing something,in my phone.

 

I touched my back pocket,"Yah my phone-"

 

His phone rang and he slid my phone back in my pocket.

 

"I'll call you."

 

"Yah Jung Dae-"

 

He disappeared into the lift and I scoffed,"Wow this guy really."
