Chapter 11
If I FellTaeyeon’s little gesture unexpectedly cheered me up. Before I went to sleep last night, I had thoughts that maybe I could tell her what had happened. But the power of sadness and sleep took over so I decided against it.
A small knock on my bedroom door made me realize it was already late in the morning. I woke up early but I didn’t bother to get out of bed. I sat up and watch as Taeyeon slowly crept inside my room balancing a tray of food in one hand while closing the door behind her. Our eyes met and hers became a size of a plate, probably caught off guard that I was wide awake.
“I-I thought you w-were s-still…” She mumbled quietly, the tray in her hand shook a bit and that made me stand up to help her. I placed the tray on my bedside table and asked what it was for.
“W-well.. you s-seemed upset… a-and y-you didn’t have b-breakfast s-so I thought m-maybe you were hungry..” Before she could finish her sentence, I lunged at her and pulled her into a tight hug. “D-don’t worry about it… and I-I’m sorry t-too.” Taeyeon muttered the last part. Her hands stopped soothing mine and she had her head down.
“For what?” I asked.
“F-for overreacting.” Still, she didn’t meet my questioning eyes. “…when J-jessica..”
“Oh.” I interrupted so that she wouldn’t further elaborate. “Yeah about that, I was kinda out of line too. I’m sorry you didn’t like what I did.”
“It’s o-okay. Let’s just f-forget it.” She said, a bit cheerfully than earlier.
“Friends?” I hopefully asked. She nodded her head and said, “Friends.”
