A week has passed since I became Mrs. Sandy Choi.
I quickly adjusted myself to this new role of being a wife. He asked me to stop working at "Escape", and although it was a hard and sad decision, i knew it was inevitable and necessary. I don't really need to have two jobs - not even one; but I asked him to let me keep my teaching job.
My farewell dinner at "Escape" was very emotional, specially when they asked me to perform for the last time with Bom... both of us have tears in our eyes after performing...
But I did promise her that if I do visit, i'll still perform free for a number or two.
It's currently summer break, so all I did at home was to make it less a bachelor's pad, and more of a newlyweds love nest.
I was busy washing the dishes when the door bell rang. I wiped my hands and made my self look somewhat presentable. I looked at the monitor beside the door to see who it was and felt blood drain from me...
"Mrs. Choi..." I whispered and tried to compose myself. "What to do? what to do?" I thought.
I breathe in deeply, working up the courage not to panic.
Why should I panic?
There's nothing to panic about...
A few more inhale and exhales... count one to three then openned the door..
"Good morning Mrs. choi. please come in." i said with a bow as i stepped aside.
She went in without any changes in expression when i looked at her. she stopped in the middle of the living room and looked around. I closed the door and walked near her.
"This is a wonderful surprise, very unexpected... Tabi is at work. Would you like a drink? coffee, tea or juice?" I asked.
"So it's you... the girl my son married." she said still not looking at me as she walked around.
"Yes ma'am. I haven't properly introduced myself yet." I bowed. "My name is Sandy Park, It's an honor to finally meet you."
She finally sat down.
