Chapter Twenty-Two

Minho

     Gigi Myo blinked at me. Her eyes were filled with shock, anger, and betrayal. He hands were balled into fists, as if she might sock me. I wouldn't blame her. If I were her, I'd do the same. But this was the only way. The only way for Taemin and Gigi to have another chance again.

"Why did you do that?!" she yelled angrily. Gigi was on the verge of tears.

I shoved my hands on my pocket and tried not to look guilty even though that was exactly how I felt. "Because I like you."

Gigi's eyes widened. "Are you crazy? I'm your best friend's girlfriend! I mean. . . I was."

"But now you're not, so we should go out." I answered.

She glared at me. "What kind of reason is that?! How can you do that to Taemin? I thought you were his hyung?"

"Of course. But look, I like you and you and I are more compatible. We share the same interests and-"

"What are you talking about? I don't share any interests with you." she growled.

"We both like the same books." I suggested.

She fired her stormy eyes at me while I shuddered. Gigi unwrapped my scarf from around her neck and threw it at my face. "I'm not going to date you."

Great. This isn't working. What should I do? She was walking away already. I better do something quick. Or she'll disappear from Taemin's life forever.

"Yah!" I yelled, running after her. She didn't even glance back as she continued walking. As I caught up, I gripped her shoulder and stopped her. I twirled her around. "Stop."

Gigi frowned. "I'm done talking. Let me go."

"Please," I begged. I tried to look pitiful. "Please just date me. J-Just for a week. How about that?"

Gigi crossed her arms. "Why are you suddenly so interested in me?"

"Um. . ." I tried to think of an answer. ". . .I've always liked you! Fallen for you. From the moment I met you!" I lied.

She gave me an apologetic look. "Mianhe, but I don't plan to date anyone for a while. Go find another girl."

"Ani," I said, gripping her hand so that it looked like I was deeply in love. "To tell you the truth, I have really strong feelings for you. I'll never hurt you like Taemin did. I promise."

Gigi looked away and pulled her hand free. "Minho, I'm flattered. But no. I really-"

"Please. Just for a week. It'll be enough." I said.
