Metal Body, Human Soul
Metal Body, Human Soul
One Year Later
“Hana, would you mind going into town with Luhan to help me fetch a few things I’ve ordered? At the usual store.”
“Yes, Creator.”
He smiled at me and I smiled back, walking towards Luhan’s room swiftly.
It’s been a year since I was switched into my new body. A year since my superstitions have been eased. Creator now treats me just as he treats Luhan, if not, better (remarkably).
After I was transferred into the new body, I found myself with the same bright blue eyes that Luhan had as he woke. They then shifted to a yellow, which Luhan told me about and said it was probably the color of shock.
I was confused in my new body, and have just barely gotten used to the freedom of this body.
When I got back to my room that day, I saw a few gifts on my bed, with the words “From Creator and Luhan” scrawled across the top of the first gift. I’d opened one to reveal a beautiful dress, better than any I’d ever owned. It was silky smooth and a pastel blue color, matching the other gifts that Luhan had gotten me before.
After unwrapping and opening several more gifts, I’d realized that Creator was trying to make up for the previous times of when he treated me awfully. There were innumerous dresses, sashes, pins, shoes, etc, each of a unique color and style.
I was surprised at the sudden treatment and requested for Creator to return them. He refused of course and to this day, I’ve been treasuring each gift that was given to me.
“Luhan, Creator wishes for us to go get some things for him in town.”
Luhan looked up and nodded, closing the book he was flipping through. His eyes shifted from gray to green. “Let me just get a few things. Go ahead and put on your shoes first.”
I nodded, smiling and walking to my own room to slip on a pair of boots and grabbing a small satchel. By the time I was done, Luhan was already waiting for me at the front door. I have yet to get used to moving so fast.
The pattern of things seems so much lighthearted than before. Luhan and I would often go into town to fetch things for Creator, who had given us an extra bit of money for something small for ourselves. At home, I was not the only one to do the chores, despite my protests.
There were more friendly conversations between all of us, and the overall environment was more comfortable. I guess you could say that we were like a family… minus the human factor for two of us.
"Hana, hurry before I leave you behind!" Luhan's eyes had a cheerful, yet teasing turquoise tone to his eyes as I hurried toward him.
This new lifestyle… I hope it lasts forever. I never want it to end. I may be a robot, but I cannot suppress my happiness for this human-like life. My metal body can’t hold back my human soul.
