Jieun gave me a new set of uniform in the morning and I ate with her and Lu Han for breakfast. “So, what’s that again about being one of the five new Blacks?” I asked over the breakfast table. Lu Han munched on his toast and looked at Jieun for the explanation. Jieun rolled her eyes at him while he just grinned, as usual. “You see, the Black House hardly accepts new students, especially during after audition. The usual way of getting inside is through the performance evaluation. You have to be really good if you got in as a freshman.” I blinked. “Whoa, but I don’t think I’m qualified. I can’t even sing in front of an audience.” “That’s what I thought, too, after that embarrassing episode," Lu Han confessed, pointing his toast at me. “But then I heard you sing. Actually, I saw your picture in the new profiles and I was surprised to find a new face. I mean, I know all the other four, me being one of them,” he smiled modestly, “but you, zilch.” “So we decided it was best to observe you,” Jieun concluded. “Ah, so that’s why you’ve been clingy to me the whole day yesterday,” I said, relieved that Lu Han’s actions didn’t mean anything special. Not only can I distance myself without being particularly noticed since his primary goal was not to befriend me but to observe if I was qualified at being admitted into his house, I also learned that he had this extremely playful and flirty attitude. I think that bit of information would be helpful. He nodded. “Yeah, it was Operation: Observe and Assess. But I did mean everything I said yesterday, about helping you if you need it," he said seriously. "And that I like you, you seem really nice." I just smiled. Now I'm sort of getting used to his way of phrasing things. “And uh, I talked to Kris,” Lu Han continued. “He’s pretty stubborn. You really might have to convince him yourself. Why don’t you just sing in front of him?” I gulped. “I don’t think that’d work. I’ll handle it and find a way.” After answering a few more questions from me, the siblings left for their classes while I headed to my own. It was Gen. Subj. and we were having basic algebra. For a second, I imagined that this was just an ordinary school and I was here for an ordinary reason, but then the bell rang, telling me it was time to return to reality. I gathered my things and headed to the theater for my acting class, mentally preparing myself for whatever test that might be thrown my way. Acting’s not really my best field, I’m not even sure if I have one. I sighed and entered the theater. And guess what, just my bad luck, Kris was already sitting at the front row. There were only a few of us for this class so I settled myself in the farthest possible seat away from Kris. Someone cleared his throat in the stage and we all directed our attention to him. It was another actor, Im Siwan. The girls almost let out their fangirlish scream if it wasn’t for Kris’ glare. Siwan smiled and greeted us all. “I’ll be your acting instructor for this w
