When Two Different Fates EntwineGIRL
I followed Lu Han's advice and decided to postpone my self-introspection, as he called it. I would think about it more when they were all gone for the weekend.
Lunchtime wasn't as awkward as I had initially expected. Nobody brought up the topic of feelings anymore, to my relief. Maybe I really had just been thinking too much. Sehun couldn't really have liked me, after all. Instead, we all exchanged reports on our music video.
"When can we see it?" Hana asked Jieun with excitement. "You're going to show it to us, right?"
We were at an Italian restaurant and the food was just being served. Pasta, pizza and some cheese, bacon, and pepperoni.
Jieun pretended to think about what Hana said. "Not sure. I thought only the judges get to see it."
"Jieun!" Hana whined, and everyone laughed.
"Okay, how about a double feature? Let's see our music videos back to back," Jieun suggested instead.
Kai nodded as he took a slice of pizza. "That would be awesome. When are we doing it?"
"Hmmm." Jieun looked at everyone for ideas.
Everyone was busy eating.
It was Kris who answered. "You're all obviously going home," he pointed out. "Later then when you're back."
So everyone decided to watch it when everyone gets back on Sunday night at Jieun's room.
And then, when everyone focused on eating again, Hana started asking questions. "I wanted to ask since last weekend, you know. So you don't go home every weekend, Kris? Ever?" she asked.
Jieun reached for the plate of pasta on her far right. Kai picked it up for her, and when Jiyeon smiled at him, I could swear that Kai's ear turned a little red. Hmmm.
I turned to Kris, wondering how he would answer.
"Yes." He waved his hand as if saying that was the end of the story and there was no why.
Hana pouted but understood, seeming to already have gotten used to how Kris was always curt with his answers. Looking for a new target, she turned to me.
"What?" I asked as I took a bite of my pizza.
"So you're always alone with Kris on the campus every weekend?" Hana made it sound so scandalous that I choked on my pizza.
Lu Han was quick to hand me water since he was right beside me. As I drank the glass of water, I swore that at the corner of my eyes, I could see Sehun, who was right across me, put down his own glass after lifting it forward. I shut my eyes and just focused on downing the whole glass, chasing the assuming thoughts away. It didn't mean anything. It didn't mean anything.
Lu Han chuckled and said, "Slow down."
When I opened my eyes, he had already placed the box of tissues closer to me.
"Thanks," I mumbled, embarrassed. Stop assuming things. More importantly, it was all Hana's fault.
Before I could answer though, Kris looked at Hana pointedly, saying, "Knowing me in the last two weeks, do you really think I'm the hanging out type?"
For some reason, Kai smirked at his answer, as if there was some private joke between them.
Hana held up her hands in surrender. "Geez, I was only curious."
After that, the topic drifted off to a much safer one: the individual auditions. Everyone looked at Lu Han since he had the most information out of all of us.
Lu Han shook his head though. "Nothing on it, yet. I don't think it's happening soon since we just had the pair and group audition in succession. We're likely gonna get a few weeks' rests from auditions. Not from classes though," he added, laughing, having seen the hopeful look on our eyes.
We couldn't help it. A little bit of break from everything would be welcome.
"We can look forward to the university's foundation week," Jieun
