Kris was watching the TV on the living room when the phone rang. He diverted his gaze to the phone. But then, he saw Lay entering the room and answered it. So Kris turned his attention back to the TV.

“Yes,” Lay answered. He went silent to listen.

Kris saw Luhan coming to the room. But the guy stopped in the higher platform as he looked at Kris with a troubled look. He felt weird when Luhan looked at him like that.

“What?”

Luhan just pointed at Lay with his head movement. So Kris turned to him. The younger guy had his back on him while talking on the phone. But then, Lay turned to him.

“Kris,” Lay said in a serious look with a slight worry hinted on his face. “I think you have to accept this call.” He shoved the phone handset to him.

Kris looked at Lay for a while as if he was studying the younger guy. But the look on Lay’s face told him that it might be something important for him to know. And probably the call didn’t come from his manager. So he raised his body from the sofa and went to him.

“It’s from the hospital,” Lay said as Kris stopped in front of him.

At that moment, Kris realized that it might be something important. He took the phone from Lay who then walked to the sofa and took the remote control. He lowered the TV volume then put the remote back on the table. Kris heaved a sigh before he put the phone speaker on his ear.

“Hello. I’m Kris, Chunjie’s guardian,” he said.

Lay came to Luhan. The older guy was looking at Kris with a frown on his face.

“Can you hear anything?”

“Nothing much.” Luhan looked at the younger guy. “Unlike yours, his mind is a little bit hard to penetrate.”

Lay looked at him and saw him grinning jokingly. He heaved a defeated sigh afterward. “I know I’m lacking of training to deflect your mind-reading ability. But at least, it shows that I’m an open-minded guy and warm.”

He scoffed amusingly. “Yeah, you are.”

Luhan looked back to Kris and tried to concentrate, sharpening his ability, expanding his range a little bit, and finally sorting every thoughts that he could hear until he heard the doctor’s mind; he concentrated himself to hear that thought. He turned his face sideway.

“The doctor said that she keeps looking for her.”

Lay seemed to understand. “Since when?”

“The Solar Eclipse last week.”

Lay frowned. “The Solar Eclipse?”

“It was when Chunjie was attacked at the school.”

But their conversation cut off since they heard Kris giving thanks over the phone. They looked back to the leader as he lowered the phone and put it back on its place. Kris heaved another sigh and turned. He walked toward the sofa.

“Anything happened?” Lay asked as Kris took the remote control and turned off the TV.

Kris looked at the remote on his hands as he reconsidered about something before threw it to the sofa and turned his body, walking toward his friends.

“I need to go to the hospital,” Kris said as he passed.

“With Chunjie?”

Lay’s question made him stop. With his deep voice, he said, “Alone.”

The younger guy crossed his arms on his chest. “I think you’ll need to consider taking her along. She’s the one that she wanted to meet after all.”

Kris only heaved a sigh and said, “Make sure that Chunjie doesn’t go anywhere after she got home. She’s still grounded,” before walked toward his room. Both of the guys looked at him but tried nothing to stop him. After he left, Lay looked at Luhan.

“I hate him if he’s like that, you know?”

The older guy only shrugged.

---

Chunjie walked alone toward the school exit as she opened the book on her hands. She had borrowed book about Eclipse from the library since she wanted to study more about Two Worlds Eclipse. But she was distracted as some female students passed her side in groups; she rose her gaze to see them. They were giggling as they talked. Chunjie halted her steps and pursed her lips.

Sometimes, when she saw group of friends, she couldn’t help but to feel envy. She might have surrounded by handsome and powerful guys like Tao, Kris or Luhan, or had great power within her. But she never had actual friends. It made her feeling lonely.

She heaved a sigh and resumed her steps as she held the book on her chest.

But as she stepped out to the sunshine, she stopped again and turned her gaze to the sky; hand raised to cover the bright light from the sun. She felt something moving from the sun. But to see it, she would need telescope; and an idea came across her mind.

She lowered her gaze and an upward tug appeared on a corner of her lips. She looked around and snapped her fingers before disappeared from the crowd.

---

Kris stopped his motorcycle in front of a hospital. He stepped down and took off his helmet before turning to the building. It had been a while since he visited the hospital. He heaved a sigh then walked toward the building, to the psychiatry ward.

As he entered the section, he stopped to look for someone that he knew; he saw him by the nurses’ station. As Kris approached, the doctor saw him and smiled. The doctor looked old. His age was probably younger than his look. But the gray hair on his head made him seem older, but wiser. He was Dr. Xiang.

“Dr. Xiang,” Kris greeted as he bowed.

The doctor only nodded. “It’s been a while. And I think I’ve never seen you again appearing on TV screens or Magazines.”

“I’m taking a break from work right now.”

The doctor smiled again and stretched his hand over the counter to give some documents to the nurse behind the counter.

“How is she actually?” Kris asked.

Dr. Xiang turned back to Kris. “Just like what I told you over the phone, she’s getting better even though she is still hysterical every time the Eclipse occurs,” the doctor explained as they walked.

“But you said that she starts asking for one person lately?” Kris asked.

“Yes,” Dr. Xiang replied. “Sunsu.”

Kris fell silent because of the name.

“She keeps asking for Sunsu. She is questioning where she is, whether she will come or not,” he continued. “One of the nurses asked her who she is and she replied that Sunsu is her daughter. We all know that she remembered about her husband. But she never remembered about her child. It’s her first time to remember that she has one.”

Kris looked back at him. “Since when did it happen?”

“Since the last Eclipse,” Dr. Xiang said.

Kris only nodded and Dr. Xiang stopped in front of a door. “But probably you can help and see if she can explain more about Sunsu.” He then opened it.

As the door opened, Kris saw a cozy room that was filled with flowers. She could smell the flowers’ scent from the room. A woman was sitting on a wheelchair across the room, near the window with her back facing the door. On her hands, she was holding flowers and arranging them to be a bouquet.

Kris heaved a sigh before entering the room and approaching the woman. As he almost reached her, he could see her face and her resemblance with Chunjie. She had the same black hair, the same eyes, even the same beauty, although the woman looked skinner and tired. But the woman looked happy and cheerful as she arranged the flowers; she seemed to relax.

He stopped on her side and knelt, bringing himself to her eye level. The woman stopped and turned to him. She looked at him for a while and smiled.

“Oh, hello,” she chimed.

“Do you recognize me?”

The woman chuckled in amusement to hear the question. “Why are you asking? Of course, I remember. You are Kris, right?”

Kris only slightly nodded, feeling content with the answer. At least she hasn’t forgotten about me, he thought.

“Do you remember Chunjie?”

The woman tilted her head as she thought. Her brows knitted and her lips pursed. “I don’t know who Chunjie is,” she said and looked back to Kris. “Who is she?”

“Chunjie is your daughter.”

The woman looked confuse for a while; frown was on her face. “You’re wrong. My daughter’s name is Sunsu. Do you want to tell me that I’ve mistaken my own daughter’s name?”

To hear the name, Kris fell silent. There was a reason why Kris never brought Chunjie along with him to visit the woman. It was because the woman had always rejected her and always became hysterical whenever she saw Chunjie. Kris didn’t want to worsen her condition or her to hurt Chunjie.

“Ah, Is she coming too? She’s with you, right?”

Kris dropped his gaze and shook his head. “No, she’s not coming.”

Disappointment came to her face. “Ah, it’s too bad. I really wish she comes.” But then, she smiled again. “But how is she?”

“She’s fine,” he said. “She has grown to be a fine young lady.” He paused. “But do you really not remember anything about Chunjie?”

The woman shook her head again. Feeling defeated, Kris exhaled slowly. Somehow, he felt that it was better if he played along. But lucky for him, a nurse came.

“Excuse me, Mr. Wu,” she said. “But it’s time for her to take her medicines.”

Kris looked back to the woman and puffed an air softly. “I understand,” he said as he stood up. The woman looked at him. “I’ll be back again soon, Madam.”

But before he walked away, the woman grabbed his hand. Kris looked back to her and saw that she seemed wanting to tell him something. So he moved closer and bent forward, bringing himself closer.

“Tell Sunsu, be careful with the next Eclipse,” she whispered to his ear.

Kris’ brow knitted to hear the warning and turned his gaze to the woman, trying to ask what she meant about it. She only smiled but Kris caught a glimpse of acknowledge and meaningful look on her eyes for a second before it was gone. He felt the grip loosening; a signal for him to go. So he straightened his body and bowed to the woman before leaving the room.

But he stopped at the door and turned back to the woman; she was taking medicine from the nurse while talking with her.

Sometimes, when he saw Chunjie or her mother, he always felt apologetic for them. He knew that Chunjie was longing for her parents. And it was his fault that she lost the only parent that she could lean on.

It was still fresh on his memory when he met her for the first time. She was with her father. They recognized him as one of the Legends. But it was also fresh on his memory when the Solar Eclipse happened and Chunjie’s father shoved her to him. He asked Kris to protect her from the creatures that went after them. Kris quickly realized the danger that they faced. So he quickly took the girl away with him. But what had gone next, it was something that Kris wished to forget as the red creatures killed Chunjie’s father.

Kris dropped his gaze then turned and walked away from the room.

Ever since Chunjie lost her father, Kris made a promise to himself that he would protect Chunjie and kept her away from harm no matter what happened. He knew that he might act very strict to Chunjie as he tried to fulfil the promise. But with it, he could make sure that Chunjie would be away from harm.

---

Tao returned to the house, alone. Earlier, he was trying to find Chunjie around the school. But he found no trace of her there. So he decided to go home; he thought that she might have returned without him.

He entered the house through the side door that leaded to the dining room and kitchen. Lay took a quick glance as he heard footsteps entering the house.

“Ah, Tao. You’ve back,” he said as he cleaned the vegetables.

Tao looked at him and answered, “Oo.” He then looked around, trying to find Chunjie. But he still couldn’t sense her presence. He looked back to Lay. “Lay, did you see Chunjie?”

Lay shook his head. “No.” He raised his gaze. “Is she supposed to be with you?”

The question made Tao silent. So Chunjie hadn’t home yet. It made him wondering where she was. He came to the dining table and put his bag there.

Then, Luhan entered the dining room while saying, “Ah, I’m hungry.”

“You were skipping your lunch. That’s why,” Lay responded to the older guy’s speech. “But there’s fruit snack on the refrigerator.”

Luhan only smiled and came to the refrigerator, taking the fruit snack that Lay said earlier. “By the way…,” he said as he closed the refrigerator’s door, “I didn’t see Chen. Where is he?”

“He’s putting Gongzhu’s clothes on her room—“ Lay then stopped to take a look at the wall clock. “Since you mentioned it, I think he has been taking a long time.” He wiped his hand dry and went around the pantry table. “I think I’d better check on him.” He then went to the rooms’ part.

Luhan put the fruit plate on the dining table and sat there. He looked at Tao who sat across of him. “You’re not with Chunjie?”

But before the younger guy answered, they heard Lay’s voice, yelling at them to come. The two looked at each other and quickly went to the room. When they reached there, they saw Lay looking panic.

“What happen?” Luhan was the first to ask as he entered the room.

“Chen,” Lay replied as he pointed at the said guy.

Luhan turned his gaze to Chen. The said guy was standing still with his back facing the door. He walked to his front and found that Chen was trying to tell them something with his facial; his lips were shut tight.

“What happen?” Luhan asked the guy.

“I don’t know,” Lay said, “When I got in, he’s already like this.”

“Can you unfreeze him?” Tao asked to the healer.

“I-I tried. But it’s not working,” Lay said.

Chen mumbled something incoherent behind his tight lips; it seemed that he was trying to say something. But something touched Luhan’s consciousness; he then turned to Chen and frowned.

“Chunjie did this?”

“Unn,” Chen replied with muffled voice.

Lay gave out a defeated look. “If its Chunjie’s…” He looked at Luhan. “I can’t do anything. Her power is beyond mine.”

“But why did she do this?” Tao asked to the lightning Legend.

Chen looked at Luhan, sending him telepathy.

An amusing smirk formed on Luhan’s lips as he heard the explanation in his mind. “Ah…” He crossed his arms on his chest “You caught her while she was trying to go out.” Luhan chuckled amusingly. “And she froze you.”

“Kris won’t like it if he found out,” Lay told them then looked at Luhan. “Can you find her through your mind?”

Luhan hummed. “I don’t think I can,” he said. “If she freezes Chen because she doesn’t want us to know that she leaves, do you think she will open her mind for me to be found?”

“Ah, point taken.”

“But do you have any idea where she is?” Luhan threw the question at random people.

Lay shrugged. “But then…” Lay looked back to Chen, “What should we do with Chen?”

“Since you can’t undo Chunjie’s power, we can’t do anything except to wait for her,” Luhan said, earning him muffled protest from Chen. As he understood what the younger guy had said, Luhan looked back to him. “Yah, even Lay can’t heal you. Just hope that Chunjie will be back soon.”

Feeling pity, Lay turned to Luhan. “Can we at least make him comfort?”

Luhan heaved a sigh and nodded. “Yeah, I think we can,” he said.

Lay then called the youngest guy for help. “Tao.” He turned to look at the said guy; he knew that he was standing on the doorway. But when he turned, he saw no one standing there. There was only his bag lying on the floor. “Huh? Where’s Tao?”

Luhan looked at the door and went silent, trying to find where Tao was. He heaved a sigh. “I think he went out.”

Chunjie was peering through her telescope on a rooftop of an abandoned factory before looking up to the sky. She heaved and thought for a while then wrote down something on her notebook. But her hand suddenly stopped moving and she took off her gaze from her book; a knowing look was on her face.

“Are you going to stand there and watching?” she asked then closed her book before turning, to Tao who stood few steps away from her.

The guy only smiled to know that she had realized his presence. He then approached her.

“Let me guess,” she said and put on a boring look, “You want to lecture me about Chen, right?”

“No,” Tao quickly replied as he stopped in front of her. “I’ll leave the lecturing part to the others. But you know that you’re still grounded, right?”

Chunjie pursed her lips. “So?”

“Yah, I’ve told you that I’ll leave the lecturing part to the others, right? So don’t be mad at me. But honestly, I really think that you’re not supposed to go without companion.”

Chunjie only heaved a sigh. She took a quick look at Tao before turning to her telescope.

Tao sat down on the roof and saw her peering through her telescope. “But what are you doing?”

“Nothing,” she replied then noted something on her book. “Just watching the sky.” She looked at Tao. “I think it’s important to study on the sky movement. Only by then, I can know what happen between two worlds.”

Tao scoffed amusingly. “You really take this matter seriously, right?” He looked around. “But this place brings back memories.”

Chunjie looked around as she stored her telescope. An upward curve appeared on corners of her lips as she saw the place. “Yes,” she said softly then looked back to Tao. “Of our first meeting, right?”

Tao smiled and nodded.

It was still fresh on his mind of what had happened there a year ago on the place.

Back then, Tao was still a rascal who always caused troubles. He liked to fight and always engaged onto gang fights between schools or even with another students on his school. That time, he happened to stroll around the town and eventually got engaged on a student gang’s fight. Tao didn’t really remember what they had argued about. But he ended up being chased by them.

He arrived to an abandoned factory and tried to find a hiding place there. Stopping on a hidden place, he leaned back to catch his breath. But then, his sense caught up someone’s presence as well as some male voices. He quickly straightened his body and shifted so he was more hidden by the shadow of the walls.

But he then saw a girl stepping to the place where he was hiding. Afraid that she would see him and attract his chasers’ attention, Tao quickly grabbed her and pulled her closer as he clamped his hand over . The girl grabbed his hand, trying to pull his hand away and struggling to set her free.

“Be quiet,” Tao hissed under his breath and the girl stopped struggling.

Running footsteps were heard and Tao saw some students passing them. He took a moment to look at the girl. She was having long hair, light beige skin, and wearing a casual clothes as in jeans and t-shirt; a long tube was slinging on her shoulder. But she had a petite figure; he thought that she might be younger. And he felt something familiar coming out from her.

The corner of his eye caught the last student had passed. So it was his chance to leave. Tao lowered his hand from and wanted to leave. But the girl quickly turned and tried to catch his hand; Tao quickly pulled back his hand before the girl caught it.

But as their gaze met, Tao saw flashes of images zooming in through his mind and finally stopped on a girl with white dress; something told him that the girl was the one. He gasped and looked back to the girl. The girl looked as normal as she could be, not to mention fragile and harmless too. But he caught a slight smile on her face.

“You’re a Time Legend, right?” the girl asked.

Tao surprised to hear the question. He furrowed, feeling caution. He couldn’t help but to feel that way, especially when he had bore a great power of the Time Legend. “Who are you?”

But before the girl could answer, Tao heard male voices again. He didn’t want to take a risk of being beaten anymore. So he wanted to go away again. But…

“I won’t move a bit if I am you,” she warned him, making him to halt his steps.

He turned to her, wondering what she meant. But then, he heard the voices getting near. Tao looked around, to the source of the voices. But strangely, he didn’t move from his spot as if he was believing in her warning.

Tao looked back to the voices. His eyes widened in fear as he saw his chasers, turning from the end of the hallway and running toward his direction. He shifted back one of his feet as they were almost approached; if only he didn’t remember her warning, he would have ran. But then, as if they weren’t seeing him, they ran passing him.

Tao looked back to the girl, wanting to question what had happened. But the girl’s lips slit open and she turned her gaze to the sky; he could see trouble on her gaze.

“They are coming,” she mumbled.

“Who?”

By then, Tao realized that he sensed great danger coming to his way. And it was coming from above. He raised his gaze and saw the Eclipse coming.

Before his eyes, he saw creatures coming from the dark part that covered their sun. They were stranger creatures that he had never seen before. But he sensed great evil from them.

It struck his thought that those creatures might have been Red Creatures; he had heard a lot about them but never seen them until today. Even though he was a Legend, he had never encountered any Red Creature before. He saw one of the dragon-shaped red creature taking a dive. It was then he realized that they were coming toward the ground; or to be precise, they were coming toward her.

Tao turned to the girl and quickly grabbed her away from the creature’s way; the creature passed without harming her. But Tao saw something dropping from above and formed human-shaped creatures; they were starting to attack them. Feeling obligate to keep her away from harm, Tao fought those creatures. He also used his power to slow them down.

But then, he sensed another force coming. And as he turned, he saw four guys who seemed older than him coming; another one dropped from the sky. Even though they were strangers for him, Tao felt familiar with them; he didn’t feel threatened by them. And as they fought, Tao found out that they were having powers.

One of them was a Lightning user while another one could freeze things. The prettiest of them could move objects or stop movement while the one who had fallen from the sky could summon fire dragon. He quickly realized that they were just like him, Legends.

“Probably we need to banish them all at once,” the prettiest guy said to his friends as Tao noticed the dragon-controller guy holding the girl on his side; he felt that he had seen that tall guy somewhere before.

The lightning user smirked. “With my pleasure.” He then turned to the Ice user. “Xiumin.”

The chubby-cheeks guy nodded and stood in position as he raised both of his hands. Tao felt the air materialized into ice around them; it froze the creatures. Then he heard thunder rumbling above and lightning struck, banishing the creatures in a large scale.

The situation fell silent after the lightning subsided. Tao looked around, trying to find any sign of the creatures. But there weren’t any. Then, he turned as he felt a presence of a Legend on his side and saw the pretty guy beside him.

He smiled at him and said, “Sorry.”

He raised his palm to cover Tao’s eyes and suddenly everything went black for Tao. And when he regained his conscious and opened his eyes, they were all gone. But Tao couldn’t forget about them. He also thought that, if those guys were Legends, that girl might be someone that he had been looking for.

But he was wondering why they seemed to leave him behind. It was the question that kept repeating on his mind even days after their encounter. Until finally, the fate was on his side as he saw the girl entering his classroom along with his homeroom teacher. The teacher introduced her as Chunjie.

And when the teacher wanted to tell her where to sit, she said, “No need. I’ve found my seat,” while fixing her eyes on Tao. Then she walked toward his table, ignoring the mutters from their classmates that wondered where she wanted to sit or what she was trying to do. She stopped and smiled at him. “Hello, Huang Zitao.”

And the mutters started to become louder. But ever since that day, Tao’s life started to take a change. He had Chunjie as his friend and stopped fighting for nothing. He later knew the other Legends and eventually decided to move into their house. He finally had found a place for him.

Tao noticed that the sun had started to set. He looked back to Chunjie and called her; she turned at him. “The sun almost set,” he said as he stood up. “I think we’d better go home. Kris can get home anytime and I don’t think he will be pleased if he doesn’t see you home.”

Pursing her lips, she clicked her tongue. “Why do you always have to obey his orders?”

“Hey, he’s doing it for your own sake.”

“But why am I feeling restrained? You know that I can protect myself.”

Tao just smiled and patted her head. “He must be feeling responsible with you. Just try to understand him,” he said.

She only heaved a sigh then stored her telescope before leaving with Tao.

***

Chanyeol was walking on the corridor of their mansion with papers and his laptop on his hand. He was heading to the library while reading the essay about the Tree of Life.

The essay was a reference for the report that he would write later. He was a college student with a major in Archeology, studying about Tree of Life, the Legends and everything about them. Since he was also one of the Legends, it helped him a lot to learn about the origins and the purpose of their existence.

He raised his gaze as he realized that he almost reached the twin doors of the library. He took the handle and opened the door. When he stepped into the room, he saw Suho standing in front of a book shelf while looking at the books row. It seemed that the leader was looking for a book. But it was a usual view for Chanyeol to see him reading books and studying in the library. So he ignored the leader and walked to a desk.

He sat on a chair and opened up his laptop. But then, he noticed that the leader seemed to frown and think about something as he read the big-squared book on his hand. Suho looked like he needed a little help. Chanyeol looked at the leader.

“What’s the matter, Hyung?” he asked.

Suho diverted his gaze from the book to Chanyeol. “Nothing,” he said as he shook his head and dropped his gaze back.

Since the leader had said that there was nothing troubling him, Chanyeol decided to respect him and go back to his essay. Even though, he was sure that the leader lied to him.

Suho walked towards the desk, then put the book on top of it. “Chanyeol.”

The person being called looked up. Suho had his hands against the desk across of him as he leaned forward. “Yeah?”

“Did your sunbae ever mention about the connection between the Eclipse and the possibility of a person traveling between Two Worlds?”

Chanyeol frowned as he tried to remember. He looked back at Suho. “As far as I can remember, he never told me anything about it.”

Suho just exhaled softly and hung his head as he felt hopeless.

For some days, he had tried to find out why Cheonsa could appear in front of him. And a few days ago, when the Solar Eclipse happened again, he felt Cheonsa’s aura faintly coming from the Eclipse. Suho felt it after they had defeated the Red Creatures that came to attack them. It gave him the idea that Cheonsa’s presence might be connected with the Eclipse. He also had guessed that Cheonsa came from the other world. All those assumptions caused Suho to match the present time with the Eclipse time. From his investigation, he found out that Cheonsa appeared before him on the Lunar Eclipse time. So he had a conclusion that somehow the Two Worlds were connected when the Eclipse happened.

“But…”

Suho raised his gaze to Chanyeol when he heard the word. Somehow it gave him a little hope.

“I’ve read a translation of an ancient essay that theoretically people can travel between Two Worlds when the Eclipse happens since the Two Worlds are lined up. There was an ancient belief that the Eclipse brought the worlds closer and opened up a connection portal between them,” Chanyeol explained.

“So, do you mean that people can go between the Two Worlds when the Eclipse happens?”

“Theoretically,” Chanyeol said. “But no one can approve it.”

“How about the magical being?” Suho asked.

“Do you mean a human being with power?” Chanyeol asked just to make sure.

Suho nodded.

Chanyeol scoffed. “Even Legends like us cannot travel between Two Worlds, Hyung. On the Tree of Life hierarchy, we’re the second powerful beings after the Tree of Life itself. But somehow, we still cannot travel to the other world.” He paused when he saw Suho’s disappointment expression. “But probably Hana can, since she has a direct connection with the Tree of Life as the Heart. But we never see her sending herself to the other world.”

“How about the Red Creatures? It seems that they can come to our world or to the other one.”

“Red Forces are exceptional. They seem to have control over the Two Worlds.”

Suho just nodded slightly as he dropped his gaze. It seemed that he had mistaken his assumption about Cheonsa and her presence. With Chanyeol’s explanation, he started to think that Cheonsa might be one of the Red Forces’ creations. But somewhere inside of his heart, he denied the thought.

“But why did you ask?”

The question snapped Suho back to the reality. Somehow, he didn’t want his friends to know about Cheonsa before he managed to find out who she was and what she wanted.

He shook his head. “No, nothing. I’m just curious about it.”

“Well, I hope my explanation helped,” Chanyeol said.

Suho straightened his body and closed the book in front of him. “Yeah,” he said. “It did.” He looked back at Chanyeol. “Thanks.” He then turned and went out from the room.
