Chapter 9: I really liked this story a lot :) I took a year of American Sign Language last year and fell in love with it and the culture. I'm so glad that you wrote this. It shows that Deaf people aren't weird creatures that share this planet with us. They are just like Hearing people, the only difference is that they can't hear. This story is just amazing and so well written :) Thank you so much!
Oh, and the sign language earlier -Sorry. I'm Deaf.- you got everything correct. But there is a sign for 'Deaf.' Instead of finger spelling it, you put your forefinger to your chin and then move it to your right ear (right-handed) or left ear (left-handed). But in this case, I think it was smart to finger spell since L.Joe might not have known that sign.
Second, I think it's funny how you used American Sign Language (ASL) and not Korean Sign Language (KSL). Just like spoken languages, signing has many different languages. Even ASL and BSL (British Sign Language) are really different! Isn't that fascinating? I think so :)
But, yeah :) I loved this so much! Thank you!
