In America… Tiffany, who was sleeping in her room, woke up by the alarm clock. She turned off the alarm and got up. She stood in front of the big mirror and stared at herself. She kept sighing as her face looked quite sad. The day for her to be introduced to all the staffs and shareholders as a CEO of her company finally arrived. Honestly, she did feel worried whether she could do well to carry this large responsibility and worried if people would accept such a young and inexperienced CEO like her.

Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door of her room. “Come in.” She replied. The door was opened and her mother came into her room. “Mom…” She tried to put a bright smile on her face.

Her mother took a seat on her bed and asking her to come to her. Tiffany sat beside her. Her mother put her hand on Tiffany’s. “Are you nervous and worried?”

“Honestly… yes.” She nodded. “Can I really take over our company?”

“Yes, of course. You are my daughter, I know you can do it.” Her mother tried to comfort her. “You can learn slowly and your father will be always by your side to look after you too. Besides, who in this world can do something perfect if she has never done it before, right?”

“Thanks, mom.” Tiffany finally showed her eye-smile as she was very thankful for her mother’s supporting words.

“Ok, now, you are going to be late if you don’t shower now.” Her mother replied while smiling. “And, here.” She gave Tiffany a shopping bag containing the suit that she would wear later. “This is your suit. I’m sure it will look good on you. You must leave a good impression for today in front of many people.”

Hyunjoong went to his company instead of the school where he was supposed to be now. He knocked the door of CEO’s office, his uncle’s office.

“Come in.” Hyunjoong heard a reply and twisted the knob before entering. “Oh, Hyunjoong. Have a seat.” His uncle smiled warmly and pointed towards the chair in front of his desk.

“Uncle, are you busy?” Hyunjoong asked since he could see that a lot of papers on the desk that his uncle was currently settling on.

“Oh, no. I’m just having a look of some documents. But, what makes you come here?” He took a look on his wristwatch. “You are supposed to be at the school now, aren’t you?”

“Actually, I have something important to tell you. Can you spend some time?”

“Yes, sure. Go on.”

“I want to take over our company.”

“What? Are you serious?” His uncle looked quite shocked with Hyunjoong’s sudden unexpected decision. “Of course I’m happy that finally you want to take over since the office works have been so hard for me. But, why? I thought you want to finish your study first.”

“Due to some reasons, I have changed my minds. I want to show someone that I can do it well.”

“Are you referring to Tiffany? You want to get her back?” His uncle asked while smiling happily. Actually, he was glad that Hyunjoong was willing to fight for his happiness since he really wanted Hyunjoong to find someone that could really make him happy.

Hyunjoong looked very shocked that his uncle knew exactly what was on his minds. “H… how did uncle know that?”

“Actually, our company is going to carry out a really big project!” His uncle started to explain excitedly. “We are going to have a combination project with a few of company overseas. It’s not confirmed yet but a meeting from both parties will be held to make the contract if both parties agree with this project. One of it is Star Royal Hotel Company…” His uncle smiled when mentioning that company. “Since we are going to do a combination project with them, we also have to be aware of the current situation of those companies. And, I found out that the Star Royal Hotel Company is just going to have a new CEO, a very young girl after his dad, old CEO got the heart attack. I think you must know her very well, Miss Stephanie Hwang?”

“Uncle, are you sure?!” Hyunjoong suddenly looked very excited and the spark could be seen in his eyes. He never thought the opportunity to get close to Tiffany would be this fast.

“The CEO is supposed to manage this big project. So, I think I should give it to you now?” Hyunjoong was about to take the documents in her uncle’s hand but his uncle stop him. “But, you must remember, in order to get her, don’t take this project lightly, ok?”

“Yes, yes. I’ll do it well.” Hyunjoong replied confidently.

“Are you really ready to take this position?”

“Yes, I’m sure. It’s just about the matter of time. I just take this position just a bit earlier than I am supposed to. But, I still need your help a lot.”

“Yes, of course. No problem.” His uncle finally gave the document to him.

“So, we really can start this project with Star Royal Hotel Company?”

“Well… the CEO himself can decide it now.” His uncle replied referring that Hyunjoong could make any decision that he wanted. “And, next week, you have to personally go to that company to discuss about this project.”

“Oh, uncle means… I have to go to US?”

“Yes. So, good luck on your first project as a CEO. I hope you can get the contract with the first company, Star Royal Hotel Company… and also your own happiness.” Hyunjoong gave a wide smile as a reply.

The first day at the company as the new CEO… The first task was, Tiffany had to visit all the departments around the company to get used and to be introduced personally to the staffs that were working under her management. She was followed by a few of her bodyguards and her father was there to accompany her and guide her.

At first, she thought it was just a simple task but she indeed admitted that it was quite tiring for her as she had to visit a lot of offices and met with a lot of staffs, she also had to introduce herself for so many times. She did heard that people in the company were talking about, how young and beautiful she was, but unfortunately, she also heard that people are doubting about her ability to run such a big company especially when she didn’t have any experience at all.

The meeting with all the staffs took about three hours before they went to the CEO’s office to show Tiffany, her office. They went inside the office that was labeled with the ‘Office of CEO’ on the door.

“This is your office.” Mr. Hwang said.

Tiffany looked around in the office. It was very neat, wide and beautiful. Honestly, she never had come to his father’s office before. She spotted her name on the table. ‘CEO of Star Royal Hotel, Stephanie Hwang.’ She looked at his father and smiled.

“Now, take a seat.” Her father asked her to sit at the CEO’s place. She listened to her father and they both took seat as her father was sitting in front of her. “How is it? Do you like it?”

“Yes, I quite like it but… it just feels quite strange… and unfamiliar to me…”

“It’s fine. Take your time. Even, at first, I was very nervous when I took this position from your grandfather. In fact, you are doing much better than I did. You didn’t need help as much as I need from your grandfather. Don’t worry too much, ok?”

“Thanks, dad.” She smiled, being so thankful for her father’s support.

“Are you okay?” Her father finally asked after he could see the tiredness on his daughter’s face.

“Oh? I’m fine.” She showed the brightest smile that she could give now.

“Are you sure?”

Tiffany remained silent for a while before finally admitting, “Honestly, I did feel quite tired from the first task today.”

Her father chuckled when she eventually became honest. “The first day is always hard but you will get used later.” He took a look at the clock. “You have 30 minutes to rest. After this, you have to attend the meeting with the major shareholders of our company.”

“Yes, dad.”

Finally, it was the time for Tiffany to attend the meeting of the major shareholders of the company. She looked very nervous as how to face those important people of the company. Would they really accept her as the CEO?

“Just be relaxed and confident, ok?” Her father patted her back to give her support when she looked so nervous and worried. Tiffany took a deep breath and smiled. “Are you ready?” She nodded.

Her father opened the door of the meeting room and he went inside first as she slowly followed him behind with heavy steps. Her eyes got widened when she saw a lot of people more than she expected of. Her heart started beating faster due to nervousness. All the eyes went fixed on her when she entered which caused her become more nervous.

“Dad, dad… can you sit here instead?” She whispered to her father asking her father to sit the CEO’s sit which have to face all of them.

“You are the CEO, of course you have to sit there.”

“But… dad, I’m really nervous right now.”

“Don’t worry, just be relaxed, you have to get used to this situation since in future, you have to be in this kind of situation more often.”

Leaving her no choice, she finally sat on the CEO’s seat which had to face all the people whose eyes were fixed on her. And to make it worse, she could see in everyone’s eyes how her presence here wasn’t too welcomed, like obviously they didn’t want her to sit at the CEO’s place. She tried to be relaxed as she took the papers that was contained the agenda of the meeting and tried to read it. However, she realized that even her hands were shaking as she became too nervous.

Tiffany’s father gave the opening of the meeting. “Thank you for your attendance for this meeting today. And, I also want to apologize for leaving a company without any CEO before. Also for everyone who has being worried about my health before, thank you so much. But, today, I have more important reason to call you out for this meeting. I think all of you are well informed about this matter. However, I still have to officially announce this important matter.”

Tiffany just remained silent as she heard her father was talking.

“I don’t think I can continue working like usual. So, for that reason, we are going to have a new CEO for our company. Here…” Her father looked at her. “She is no other than… my own daughter.” He introduced Tiffany as the new CEO.

Tiffany was too nervous as her minds already became blank, she just showed her bright smile until her eye-smile appeared on her face.

“What are you doing? Introduce yourself.” Her father whispered to her.

“Oh, yes!” She exclaimed as she immediately got up in nervousness which caused a quite loud sound produced from the chair that she just sat on. “Hello, I’m Stephanie Hwang. It’s nice to meet you. I… I’m the new CEO. I hope we can do well together in the future.” She talked awkwardly.

Mr. Kang, one of the major shareholders talked. “Will she do well? How can you let a young and inexperienced girl like her to run such a big company?”

The incident that she had been afraid of finally happened. She still looked very shocked and became speechless after people kept throwing their opinions about the doubt of her ability.

Mr. Lee added, “Besides, you shouldn’t have let your daughter to take over. How can a girl be chosen to inherit this company?”

Another shareholder, Mr. Park added, “As the second biggest shareholder, Mr. Kang is the one should run this company.”

As Tiffany became speechless, her father answered all the questions to defend his daughter. “My son is still young, he is just a kid, and of course I can’t let him to take over. But, my daughter is here instead to replace him only, only until my son is ready to take his position. And, me as her father, is confident in her ability. I have always trust her to give this company in her hand even if there are lot more people who is capable to run this company including my son. Honestly, at first I want to give it to her but just because she doesn’t want it, my son is the one who will inherit the company. She also didn’t want to take this place but she still did just because she thought of me. I believe in her.”

Tiffany looked very shocked that her father believes in her so much. Honestly, she did feel burdened that if she could fulfill her father’s expectation.

“But, just because you trust your daughter, it doesn’t mean that we can do the same. We don’t know her and she still doesn’t have the experience at all. How can we trust her in running this company? Who will be responsible if we don’t make any profit?”

“I…” Her father was just about to say.

However, Tiffany didn’t want her father kept defending her anymore. She finally talked confidently, “I promise I will do my best for this company.”

“Just because of a mere promise, we can’t believe that you will be able to well.”

“Then, I will prove it!” Her father looked very shocked that suddenly Tiffany got the confidence that she had been lacking of.

“So, can you tell us how you want to prove it, our new young CEO?” Mr. Kang asked.

“H… how? How… how…” She kept repeating as she was thinking.

“Can you get the contract for the next project that our company is aiming for?” Mr. Lee suddenly suggested, purposely giving the most difficult task to Tiffany that even an experienced person would have difficulty to do it.

“Hang on, that’s too much…” Her father was just about to protest the suggestion.

“Alright, I’ll do it. I promise I will get it for sure!” She already agreed with the condition without discussing with her father. “If I can’t do it, I will decline this position!” She said confidently as being as far as putting the position of CEO on the line.

 All the shareholders looked very shocked due to Tiffany’s unexpected reaction, she was so confident that if she did do the mistake, it might even affect her father. They seemed quite surprised with sudden confidence shown by Tiffany for this hard task.

Meanwhile, even her father looked very shocked that suddenly Tiffany gained this confidence that he had been hoping that she would be this confident before. Honestly, he was very proud for her as she didn’t give up at all even all the people didn’t believe in her. He stared at her daughter while smiling proudly.

“Ok, if you say like that… we’ll see what happen later.”

The meeting finally ended and all the shareholders left, leaving Tiffany alone with her father in the meeting room. She hove a sigh of relief after facing the difficult situation before.

“Good job, my daughter! I’m really proud that you stand against them.” He smiled proudly as he tapped her shoulder.

Tiffany smiled. “But, dad… what is actually the project that they were talking about?” Honestly, she did feel very worried as she agreed to do the project that she didn’t even know anything about. What was on her minds when she agreed to it before was just to stop them to give a hard time to her father.

“Oh, that project… actually, it’s a really difficult project that even I don’t have the confidence that I can get it easily.” Tiffany’s eyes suddenly widened out of shock when her father started to explain. “It’s a combination project with the most successful company in Korea. Actually, the CEO of that company is really picky when it comes to choose the overseas company like our company for the project. After having a hard time, I finally get the opportunity to have a meeting to show our proposal to that company so that they will pick our company. So, you must do a very extremely good proposal to get the approval of the CEO of that company.”

“What?!” Tiffany asked in disbelief. “H… how… how I am supposed to do that?!” She couldn’t believe that she had to do something that she didn’t have experience about and not to mention, even her father said he himself couldn’t do it easily.

“Just do it, it will be fine.” Her father looked so relaxed and wasn’t worried at all.

“Dad! How can you easily say that?! Even you said it’s hard for you?! And, me?! It’s just too out of questions!”

“You are you and I am me. How can it be the same? You might have something that I don’t have and you might be able to do something extraordinary!” Her father looked so excited. “I believe in you. So, do well.”

“Dad, how can you believe me so much?” Tiffany asked her father with a sad face.

“Just keep the confidence in yourself like how you dealt with the situation before, and it will just be great, don’t worry!” He got up. “And, I’m really proud that you can be so confident and just accept their challenge. You are really my daughter.” He smiled widely to her before leaving.

Tiffany just sighed thinking about she just did. “I won’t agree if I know this earlier, aigoo… I’m so stupid!” She knocked her own head. “How I am supposed to do this?! Is this making any sense?!” She scolded herself. “But, dad believes me so much… Argh! What should I do?!”

Even on the first day, she already got herself with so many troubles.

Minho finally discharged from the ward after spending a week in the hospital. He went home to his family’s house and he didn’t even remember that he used to stay at his own villa with Taecyeon and Nickhun. He looked like have recovered completely from his injury except the losing memory.

When he just went into the house, he saw Jooyeon was running towards him. “Oppa, I miss you so much!”

He smiled to her and squatted down to give her a hug. “Hi!” He greeted.

“Oppa, is that truth? Mom said you can’t remember anything. Then, you really can’t recognize me?” Jooyeon asked with a sad face.

“Huh?” Minho was unsure how to explain. “Honestly… yes, oppa doesn’t remember you but you are familiar to me. Even though I don’t remember our memory, you are still my sister and I love you so much!” He explained brightly and gave a kiss on her cheek.

Jooyeon finally put a smile on her face. “Then, oppa, are you going to live here, with me and mom?”

“Huh? What do you mean?” Minho didn’t get what she was asking.

“Before this, you used to live with Nickhun oppa and Taecyeon oppa.”

“Oh, really?” Just hearing the mention of Taecyeon from Jooyeon just made him felt very bad and angry due to the lie that Victoria had made up about him and Yuri. “Don’t worry, from now on I’ll live here.”

“Yeah!” Jooyeon shouted happily. “How about Pretty unnie? She must be worried about you so much.” Jooyeon asked about Yuri.

“Who? Pretty unnie?” Minho frowned.

“Don’t you remember Pretty unnie?”

Of course Minho didn’t remember who Jooyeon asked about but he guessed it. “My girlfriend?” He asked referring to Victoria, didn’t understand that she was actually referring to Yuri. Jooyeon just nodded. “Oh, actually she is the one that take care of me at the hospital.”

“Oh, I see.”

Minho’s mother came later when she found out that Minho had arrived at home. “Mom.” Minho said while smiling.

His mother replied with a smile. “So, how do you feel now?”

“I feel great than ever.”

“That’s good. You should take a rest in your room. I have asked auntie to clean the room.”

“Yes, mom.”

Tiffany was lying down on her bed. The first day only passed but it was already this tiring. However, she didn’t want to use that excuse to give up but to work harder instead. She was determined to get the contract of the project to prove her ability no matter what must she had to do.

When she was extremely busy this morning, she thought she had manage to control it but now, when she was alone, not doing anything, she started thinking about Hyunjoong again. It was still hard for her to accept the fact that they had broken up. She wondered if he already found out that she was already leaving Korea and the break-up. Would he be okay? She really missed him so much.

She was shocked and awake from immersing herself in the thought of him when someone knocked the door of her room. “Come in.” She replied and then she saw his dad standing in front of her room before coming in to sit on her bed beside her.

“Are you okay? It must be a tiring first day for you, right?”

“Yes…”

“So, have you thought about the challenge that the shareholders asked you to do? Have you decided on it?”

“Don’t worry, dad. I have considered it and no matter what, I will try my best to get that contract. I’ll prove to them and make you proud.”

“Thanks, my daughter.” Her father gave her a warm smile. He observed Tiffany’s expression and realized that she looked so down and he was sure it wasn’t because of the work anymore since she was determined to do the best. There must be another reason for this. “Why don’t you call him?”

“Huh?” Tiffany looked confused.

“Your boyfriend. You must miss him a lot, right?”

“Actually, dad…” Tiffany continued with a sad face after a moment pause. “…we have broken up.”

“What did you say?!” Her father looked very shocked and angry. “How dare he do that to my daughter?! He broke up with you just because you had to stay here?! It is too much! I will…”

“No, no, dad. It’s me. I’m the one who asked for break-up.”

“What? You? But, why? Because of what is happening right now?”

“Yes. We don’t know until when I have to take over our company… and I don’t want to make him keep waiting for me.

“But, still… he just let you go easily?”

“I’m sure he won’t ever let me go if I tell him about the break-up.”

“What do you mean?”

“Actually, I don’t tell him in person. I wrote it in the letter and ask my friends to pass it to him. Even a day before I left, he already was aware of my strange behavior and he had me to promise him to never let him go. How can I tell him when he is already like that?”

“However, I don’t understand. You shouldn’t have break up with just because of this. I don’t mind at all about your relationship.”

 “I just want to protect him. I don’t want to hurt him by making him wait for me. It must be so hard for him and I don’t want to be selfish.” Tiffany eventually shed tears again.

Her father wiped the tears on her face. “I’m sorry, I think all of this happened because of me. If you don’t want to take over our company and want to return to Korea again, it’s okay. I don’t mind. I’m just want to see you being happy.”

“No, no, dad… I’m fine. I don’t regret taking this decision.” She assured her father. “If we are really destined for each other, in the end, I’ll meet him again.”
