Setting: Incheon International Airport

Shimako looks at me. “Eunhyuk, listen to me.” She lifts my chin up. I wiped my tears away and looked up to meet her gaze. “This is definitely not the end, Hyuk.” She says, neutrally. Guess she did not want to show her feelings, true, feelings, after all. Come on, you’re already saying good bye. No more to hide.

“I know.” Was all I could say in response.

“Remember, I love you. It’s time to go.” She says quickly, starting to lift her baggages up.

That phrase almost killed me. I don’t know what I feel and I don’t feel anything at all. This makes my heart break into pieces.

“I won’t be gone long…” she starts. “Just always think of me. I’ll be back before you know it. And by that time that I go back, I hope you have not found another girl to love.”

“Yeah. Four years are not long! It’s tomorrow, isn’t it?” I said sarcastically.

“I’ll call you everyday. I’ll Skype you every second. If that can keep this relationship alive between us.”

“I don’t need your phone calls! I need you here, by my side!” I can’t help but get mad at her.

She held up her two hands and held my face tightly. Her hands felt so cold and delicate.

[then the Sound System ruins the moment]

“All passengers boarding for Canada, please get on board now.”

“Well, I guess this is it!” She tries to be jolly again, as she always had been. “Smile, Hyuk. Please smile.” She looks at me pleadingly and after waiting for me to respond, which I did not do as I was told, she gives up and started to walk away.

I ran to her and hugged her one last time.

“I love you.” I whisper.

She breaks loose and then went up the elevator. She mouthed the words “I love you” as she went up.

And after I blink my eyes, she’s gone.
