Chapter 42
What Happens in Seoul~Third Person POV~
After Hongki had left the dorm, Jonghun got out his phone, ready to call Yoonho, his manager. But before he pressed the dial button, he changed his mind. This was Seunghyun's business; he should be the first to consult. Did he even know about the news yet? He immediately called Seunghyun's number instead, but the line was unavailable.
"So?" Jaejin asked as Jonghun returned, "Did you talk to him?"
Jonghun shook his head. "I couldn't get through. Either reporters have the line tied up with interview requests, or he shut his phone off. I just hope it's the latter."
Elsewhere in Seoul, at the FNC building, Jonghun's guess was correct. Seunghyun had arrived at the studio early that morning, and everything seemed ordinary – quiet, even, since his other members weren't around. The only thing that was off was the unexplained order from his manager to turn off his phone.
Yoonho had left Seunghyun to his daily routine of practice, hoping that things would stay quiet for as long as possible. But somehow, he doubted that the peace would last the whole day. He loved being FT Island's manager, but dealing with stress at times like this was inevitable. For now, he had been advised by the company to avoid public exposure for the boys and not say anything to the press until an official statement was prepared.
Not halfway through the day, he got a call he had not wanted to receive. Seeing Jonghun's name on the caller display, he knew FT Island must have found out.
"Hyung, what's going–"
"Jonghun, listen to me carefully," Yoonho explained, "I need you all to come here, to the studio. You'll probably need to come in through the back. I've been trying to keep the press away, but I noticed a few reporters outside."
"How's Seunghyun?"
"I don't think he knows that it's gotten out yet... I really hope this settles down soon; he's too young to have to deal with a scandal already," he shook his head in despair.
Jonghun agreed, already grabbing his car keys. "I hope so too."
"Jonghun," said Yoonho, just as he was about to hang up.
"Neh?"
"Bring this Natalie girl, too."
Jonghun nodded. "We'll be there soon."
~Seunghyun's POV~
By afternoon, I decided to take a break. Time was moving slowly without the others to joke around with. I was playing around with a few different cords on my guitar, wondering if I should try composing a song sometime. Maybe I could write a song for Natalie? At that thought, I realized I hadn't been able to talk to her since yesterday. I had left in such a hurry after confessing, and now it seemed like time was just being swept away. I pulled out my phone, turning it on to check if there were any texts from her. There wasn't, but there was a missed call from Jonghun.
Just as I began wondering what Jonghun would have called for, Yoonho suddenly entered, glancing back into the hallway distractedly. "Seunghyun, I told
