Chapter 24
What Happens in Seoul~Natalie's POV~
Darkness crept through every crack, clinging to every surface, concealing any details of the room around me. Strong gusts of wind outside threaten to blow right through the desolate place that is seemingly my only haven from the raging storm outside. A crack of lightning illuminates the sullen sky through the single rain streaked window that seems to be an immeasurable distance across the obscured room. The accompanying boom of thunder ripples through my eardrums, shaking the very foundation of this unknown building in which I am in. The irregular, yet continuous pulsating of rain beating on the roof drowns out any thoughts of subterfuge from the fear that now courses through me. In the midst of all this turmoil, there is a little girl, undoubtedly terrified without the guidance or comfort that a little girl should have. But then, there is a woman as well; she's standing next to her. It's her mother. The little girl turns and hugs her mother tightly around her waist, hiding her face, wishing away this ominous place. But then, I see the woman's face. Her mother is my mother. I am the little girl. Her fear is my fear.
I woke up with a gasp, then released my grip around the pillow beside me. I sighed, rubbing my temples tiredly. I looked at the clock and realized that it was almost the afternoon already; I had slept in. I dragged myself out of bed and checked my cell phone. There was a new message, and it was from Hongki, asking me to come to their rehearsal that afternoon. I sent him a message back saying I would come, and he replied with the address of the studio, which I found myself in front of a couple of hours later.
After finally finding where FT Island was practicing, I saw Minhwan outside of the door.
"Oh, hi Natalie," he waved to me excitedly, "Everyone, look who I found!"
He led me inside, and the large room was filled with various instruments. Jaejin and Jonghun were busy fooling around with the piano. Hongki was nowhere in sight. Then I noticed Seunghyun off in the corner, tuning his guitar. He looked at me as Minhwan and I walked through the door. I smiled at him, but he just turned back to his guitar.
