CHAPTER 7 ...And the two worlds finally collide. Soundtrack: EXO-K - History And then... ...nothing. I had already braced myself for the invitable doom that was about to grip me. I had already accepted that my life would be no more now. Strange as it might seem, I had already expected hands to be roaming all over me now, and I had waited for the spark to flame up my futile struggle. But nothing changed around me. A swoosh of air was all I felt. What?! Was my despair that painless? My body shook in fear, but nothing was happening. No force was holding me, actually. It was weird, truly strange, that all the force that Chanhee-sshi exerted to keep me in place suddenly vanished. It was even weirder that I felt no effort exerted to keep my wrists where they were. Had he killed me instead of molesting me, then? So, why was it so... calm? I dared to open my eyes, bit by bit, only for it to fly wide open at the sight of Chanhee-sshi sprawled on the ground, unconscious. Several rock fragments were scattered around his limp body, and my eyes widened even more at the realization where these rocks came from. Yah... This is from the cliff edge quite a distance from here! How the hell could something from hundreds of meters away come here so soundlessly?! I warily looked around, trying to find anyone who might have thrown something. I would have to thank him or her for saving me from a supposedly devastating situation. But then, while I was looking at the rock fragments, another realization struck me. The rock was huge, if my mind did the piecing of the fragments correctly. I mean, a rock of that size is not something that anyone would throw so casually. So, it's possible that it wasn't thrown. It probably fell from somewhere. But there's no other source of rocks except for the cliff... Carefully stepping over Chanhee-sshi's figure, I tried to look around even more. Perhaps my suspicion was wrong, and it was just really a person who was strong enough to throw a huge rock at Chanhee-sshi because he thought it would be nice to help someone weak like me. But that was when I heard the sound. It seemed like two huge boulders hitting each other with such an intensity that one could suspect it as an explosion or something. I would know because the rumbling was the same as how it sounds in the movies, similar to the crash of thunder, but more solid in intensity. Not long after, a few more rock fragments began rolling my way, and I immediately knew that something was out there. Something larger than what I thought of was out there, and it had helped me in ways that I wouldn't have understood. But it helped me, no matter what it was. The least I could do is thank it for saving me, even if the way of doing it isn't all that common. Brav
