On the last night of Jessica's stay back at home,
she had this sudden urge to see Sooyoung, this sudden missing of Sooyoung.
But it was already late at night, pretty late that even her parents were asleep.
Jessica, herself couldnt get to sleep becauses she wasnt feeling very well,
as well as the jittery feeling she was having.
Afterall, she'll be returning back to the hospital the next day.

Jessica's POV

I wont be appearing in your life, disrupting your life unless you wanted to see me.
As long as that day exists, open up your windows and i'll be there.

For now, i'll just be your guardian angel.

End of Jessica's POV

Jessica then smirked and stood up weakly from her bed,
slowly walking to the windows that were by the side of her room and opened it wide and big.
However, as the clocked slowly ticked pass,
there wasnt a single sign of Sooyoung but just the icy cold breeze blowing in,
more and more, turning the room colder and colder.

"Guess i shouldnt have believed this mutt's words" mumbled Jessica as she snuggled under her covers, and fell into a deep slumber.

Hours later, she felt a strong yet warm grip around her shoulders.
And a very warm soft delicate hands caressing her face.
Not being a very strong sleeper when she is sick, Jessica started stirring from her sleep.
Sleepily opening her eyes, a familiar figure with a loving smile plastered on her face.

Rubbing her eyes for the second time, Jessica widened her eyes.

"Why do you look so surprised, honeystars?" asked Sooyoung with a smile as she brushed Jessica's fringe away.

"Mutt, you lied to me"

"Since when?"
"I didnt lie"

"You lied"
"You said as soon as i open my windows"
"You'll be here, you'll appear"
"But you didnt"
"I waited mutt"
"I did"

"You missed me, dont you?" smiled Sooyoung sweetly.

Jessica rolled her eyes.

"You're sick, yet you're still like the old you honeystars"
"I love the way you are"
"Like now"

"Well, dont expect a sickly me mutt"
"I'll snap that neck of yours even if im sick" said Jessica sacarstically with a chuckle.

Sooyoung let out a laugh.

"Right, im sure you will"
"So tell me, why are you looking for me?"
"You know your immune system is weak dont you?"
"Why did you even let your windows remain that wide open despite the icy cold breeze blowing in?"
"You know, the weather is changing and its getting chilly"
"Its gonna get you a cold"

Jessica let out a laugh, ending with a painful coughing fit.

"It doesnt matter, does it?"
"I've already caught one before you came"

Sooyoung frowned, putting her hands to Jessica's forehead.

"You're burning up"
"Badly"

"I know, its been like these for days"
"Its fine, i guess"
"I just dont know, if its the side effects of the chemotheraphy or is it the cold that i've caught" giggled Jessica.

Sooyoung brought her hands up and caressed Jessica's face,
with a sad expression.

"You lost weight, honeystars"

"You're really funny mutt" laughed Jessica.
"Of course i've lost weight, ive been on a forced diet"
"My stomach just refuses to take any food down"

"Poor honeystars"
"Shall i get some kokokrunch to cheer you up?" teased Sooyoung as she pinched Jessica's nose lightly.

"Nope, kokokrunch's not my type"
"Miloballs maybe?" chuckled Jessica.
"You know, mutt"
"I've been receiving your flowers"
"Im really touched by it although i cant return your feelings"
"At times, i cant deny that i miss you too"

Sooyoung put her fingers onto Jessica's lips.

"Shh.."
"Its okay, i told you right?"
"In the card, i said i'll be your guardian angel"
"I'll guard you" said Sooyoung with a dazzling smile.

"I couldnt sleep then when i opened the windows for to wait for you mutt"
"But you didnt turn up"
"I wanted to see how you were doing"
"Sorry, i wanted to wait"
"I wanted to wait longer but the pills i've been taking"
"Its been bringing back and forth from slumberland" said Jessica with a soft sigh.

"Its good, isnt it?"
"You need more rest for your next up coming battle"

"No.. mutt.."
"To be honest.."

Jessica paused.
It seems like something's up in her mind.
Her hesistation, her sighs.

"Look honeystar"
"Im here, to listen to your woes once in awhile"
"Or every now and then when you need me"
"I'll lend you a listening ear because you cant afford to let Yuri nor anyone worry"
"Confide to me, its okay"
"I've got the whole night till the time you have to get back to the hospital" said Sooyoung assuringly.

Jessica thought about Sooyoung's words for a few seconds before turning to her with a weak smile.

"To be honest mutt.."
"I dont want to be sleeping for so long.."
"Im just afraid.. afraid that what if one day.."
"I wont wake up anymore.."
"Then, i wouldnt be given any chance to bid anyone goodbye"
"Especially the ones i love.."

Sooyoung's face dropped.
Cupping Jessica's face in her warm hands, Sooyoung showed her a serious expression.

"Look, i promise you"
"You wont die"
"You'll survive alright?"
"I can promise you that" said Sooyoung in a persuasive voice.

Jessica pushed her away and turned away from Sooyoung.

"Mutt" said Jessica, this time with a cold tone.
"Dont, dont ever use your ability on me"
"It wont work"
"Im getting tired, just leave"

Sooyoung sighed a little as she obediently got off the bed.
As she headed for the open windows, Sooyoung took a last look before jumping out of it.

"Im sorry for using it on you"
"But im sure, im sure you can survive and win everything honeystar" whispered Sooyoung softly, her eyes shinning under the bright moonlight.

Jessica's POV

Im sorry mutt..
I didnt mean to..
I dont understand myself either..

My sudden outburst..
I've to start controlling, right?
What if my sudden outburst pisses appa, omma and Yuri off..?

End of Jessica's POV

Few hours later, Jessica who was still under the covers was awoken up by a group of sweet voices calling out to her name.
The voices she longed to hear, as well as the voices from the people that she needed most.

"Sweetie"
"Come on, get up now"
"Its morning" called Mrs Jung as she gave Jessica a slight push.

"Sweetheart, im here for you now"
"Get up now, i have some good news for you" said Yuri happily as she jumped onto Jessica's bed.

Jessica groaned as she opened her eyes sleepily.

"Sweetie"
"Come on up, you need to take your temperature, breakfast and medicine before heading back to the hospital"

Jessica's POV

Hospital..
Again..
That mean yet scary place.

I hate it, really.
It hurts to be in there, physically and mentally.
I dread going back there.

End of Jessica's POV

"Omma.." called Jessica sadly as she sat up from her bed weakly.
"Can i dont go back to the hospital today..?"

Mrs Jung frowned, although she could see the fear inside her daughter's eyes,
she cant acceed to her request.
Because she wanted the best for her.

Mrs Jung shook her head slightly but threw Jessica a weak smile.

"Sweetheart"
"Why?"
"Are you feeling unwell or something?" asked Yuri almost immediately as she put her hands up to Jessica's forehead with a frown.

Jessica immediately pushed her hands away with a sad smile.

"Aniya"
"Its just that.."
"Nevermind.."
"I'll get up now" sighed Jessica softly as she got off her bed.

"Here, lean over" instructed Mrs Jung with a thermometer in her hands.

Jessica did as told and Mrs Jung put the ear thermometer into her ears.
Seconds later a beep was heard and Jessica walked off.

Yuri stood there and waited for Mrs Jung's announcement.
But Mrs Jung seemed a little disappointed.

"How is it?"

Mrs Jung shook her head sadly.

"She's still running a fever"
"38.4"

"At least, its not as high as 39 or more" said Yuri with an awkward smile.
"We have to be positive, dont we?"

Mrs Jung nodded with a smile and turned to Jessica's bathroom.

"Sweetie, we'll be down waiting for you"
"Come down when you're done changing and washing up" shouted Mrs Jung over the room before heading down to the dining room with Yuri.

Entering the dining room, Yuri was offered a seat by Mrs Jung and sat down after accepting it politely.

"So.."
"How close are you with Sooyeon..?" asked Mrs Jung casually as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Mrs Jung, im Jessica's girlfriend" said Yuri bluntly.

Mrs Jung almost spat her coffee out.
With widened eyes, Mrs Jung spoke.

"What?!"
"Girlfriend?"

Yuri nodded awkwardly.

"How can this be..?"
"She had never told us before.."
"You know Yuri, you're just a girl"
"I can see, and sense the concern you have for Sooyeon"
"Im really thankful for that"
"But i dont really think you're suitable for Sooyeon" said Mrs Jung with an apologetic look.

"But why Mrs Jung?"
"Do you think im not capable of taking care of her and giving her happiness?"
"Or is it because we cant give off offsprings?" asked Yuri in disbelief.

"Yuri, its not about offsprings"
"Its.."

Mrs Jung sighed sadly.

"I hate to break this to you"
"But Jessica's actually engaged to someone else already"
"We've had it arranged ever since she was born"

"How could you do this for Jessica?!"
"Its like not even respecting her!" exasperated Yuri in tears.

Jessica, who was standing by the entrance of the dinning room heard everything.
The arranged marriage, and the bad news Yuri having to leave Jessica.

"Im sorry, but its really hard for us to break our promise Yuri"
"Im really thankful for the love you've showered Sooyeon with"
"But i do hope, you can leave"
"Leave Jessica, she might be probably able to lead a better life with the fiance we've arranged for her" said Mrs Jung sadly, averting Yuri's teary eyes.

"Mrs Jung.."
"Im sorry.."
"But i..-''

Jessica ran into the dinning hall, now in tears.
But with hatred in her eyes.

"I hate you omma!"
"I hate you!"
"You didnt come back for me!"
"You didnt!!"
"I knew you and appa had another motive in coming back for me!!"
"I dont want Yuri to leave me!!"
"I dont want to!!"

Mrs Jung's face was full of shock when she saw Jessica's appearance.

"Sweetie, let me explain.."

"NO!"
"Dont!"
"Its so hard to believe you again!" cried Jessica sadly.
"How can you ask Yuri to leave me?!"
"She was the one who stood by my side no matter what!"
"She didnt even despise me or leave me right immediately after i was diagnosed with cancer!"
"But you omma!"
"You and appa didnt bothered to watch out for me!"
"Didnt want to take care of me!"
"I know i know!"
"Everything yesterday night and the night before that"
"Everything were lies isnt it?!"

"Shhh.."
"Sweetheart.. dont.."
"Stop shouting, stop exerting so much strength"
"Its going hard on you.." cooed Yuri as she pulled Jessica in her embrace.

Jessica sobbed, hugging onto Yuri tightly,
dont wanna let her go anytime soon.

"I dont.. want to be separated.."
"From you.. Yul.."
"I want no one.. but you.."
"Yul.. i..-"

"YAH!" shouted Yuri worriedly, holding onto the warm limb body on her.

Carrying Jessica up in bridal style, Yuri realised that Jessica's nose was bleeding again.
And her face, it was red and her temperature was literally rising.

Mrs Jung, on the other hand was shocked at what had happened and immediately called for the chaffeur but was pushed away by Yuri.

"Save it Mrs Jung"
"I was really glad that Jessica had you back with her"
"As well as Mr Jung"
"But i didnt expect this"
"I wont let you take Jessica away from me"
"Believe it or not, i can literally bring her to a place where you'll never get to find her even after deploying millions of people" said Yuri coldly as she carried Jessica out of the mansion and into the her car.

Within minutes, she sped off to the hospital with the unconscious Jessica in her car.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Yuri wasted no time and swiftly got Jessica to the emergency unit.

Few hours later, the doctors came out and greeted Yuri with a smile.

"How is she doctor?"

"Dont worry, Jessica-sshi is fine for now"
"I think shes too agitated thats why she fainted, had a nose bleed and the sudden increased of temperature"
"Although this is not going to contribute any plus to her health but it doesnt mean it will be something negative towards it"
"So, lets just look at the positive side?" smiled the doctors encouragingly.

"Thanks doctor"

"No problem, its our duty"
"Jessica-sshi is back to her ward now"
"We'll be coming by later to brief her on her next treatment" said the doctors.

With that the doctors left Yuri by the emergency unit.
Yuri let out a huge sigh of relief before proceeding back up to Jessica's ward.
When Yuri was walking towards Jessica's ward, she was surprised to see Jessica staggering out of the room weakly,
holding onto the IV stand for support.

In a blink of an eye, Jessica felt a strong warm grip around her waist.
Turning her head to her left, she silently let out a sigh of relief.

"Sweetheart, what are you doing here?"
"Why did you leave your room?"
"You're still weak, arent you?" asked Yuri worriedly.

"Im afraid.."
"Afraid Yul.."
"I woke up.."
"You're not here.."

Yuri smiled and chuckled at the worried latter.
Carrying Jessica up with one hand, she pulled the latter's IV stand into the room with the other.

"Come on sweetheart"
"Sit down here and listen what i've got to say alright?" said Yuri with a smile as she let the latter down back onto her bed gently.

Jessica's eyes were still teary after waking up,
finding Yuri, not being by her side.

"Listen sweetheart"
"I wont leave you, i promise"
"I wont let your mum or dad separates us unless you want to"

"I dont want to.."
"Yul.." coughed Jessica as she held onto Yuri's hands tightly.
"I dont want to.."

"Thats all i need sweetheart" said Yuri, eventually landing a loving peck on Jessica's forehead.
"I promise you, if theres a chance whereby they wants to bring you away"
"I wont allow them"
"I'll be by your side, 24/7 sweetheart"
"Worst come to worst, i'll bring you back to my castle"
"No humans can find their way there"
"And i'll make Siwon oppa treat you" said Yuri with a determine smirk.

"Really..?"

"Of course, silly!"
"I told you, i'll cherish you"
"I'll treasure you and shower with you plenty of attention"
"Didnt i?"
"Or have you forgotten about that?"

Jessica's tears were being wiped off by Yuri,
and her lips formed a contented smile.

"Yul.." called Jessica as she hugged Yuri tightly.
"Thanks Yul"
"I love you so much"
"You can never imagine how much is it"

Yuri chuckled, caressing Jessica's back.

"Nah, never once will it be more than mine" teased Yuri playfully.

Jessica broke the hug and scowled at Yuri.

"Mine is always more!" protested Jessica cutely with a pout.

"Arasso arasso"
"Yours will be more than mine, sweetheart" cooed Yuri with a pinch on Jessica's cheeks.

Yuri then got onto Jessica's bed, and laid beside her,
arms over Jessica's shoulder with Jessica's head against Yuri's chest.

"Sweetheart, you know"
"I've went to collect your lab report the next day after you went home"
"And you know what?"
"The lab report says the treatment is working for you, especially the cancer cells in your spine"
"Its working well in controlling and not much cancer cells were found spreading" said Yuri happily, holding onto Jessica's infused hands,
carressing it with care.

"Jeongmal?" asked Jessica with a glint of happiness in her eyes.

"Of course"
"Why would i lie to my sweetheart?"
"I've promised not to lie to my sweetheart anymore, havent i?"

Jessica nodded with a smile.

"At least you remembered"

"Of course i do!"
"How could i not!" chuckled Yuri cheekily.
"You know you mean the whole world to me, dont you?"

"But you dont mean the whole world to me" replied Jessica, feigning the coldness in her tone.

Yuri turned to her with a frown.

"Whats wrong now sweetheart?"
"Whats with the sudden cold tone?"
"Why dont i mean the whole world to you?" asked Yuri with a disappointed look.

Jessica let out a soft cute giggle.

"Because you mean the whole universe to me, pabo!" chuckled Jessica cutely, covering with her infused hand.

"YAH!"
"You're such a bully, arent you!" said Yuri and landed a knock on Jessica's head.

"Ouch!" squeaked Jessica with a glare.
"Stop knocking it like this"
"You know im getting bruises easily right?!"
"What if this knock gets me an internal bleeding?!" threatened Jessica with a deadly glare.

"Sweetheart!"
"Stop saying those scary stuff!" exasperated Yuri in disbelief.
"Why are you always like this!"

Jessica mentally rolled her eyes at Yuri's behaviour.

"I was just kidding.." muttered Jessica softly under her breath.

Just then, a knock on the door was heard.
And the group of doctors stepped into Jessica's ward with a clipboard each in their hands.
Whats new this time round, is the foreign looking doctors.

"Jessica-sshi"
"This will be your new medical team"
"It was assigned by your parents"
"They specially requested for these famous doctors to be back here to treat your illness" said the doctors with a smile.

"I dont need them" replied Jessica coldly.
"I dont need the fake concern my parents are showing us with"

"Sweetheart.." coaxed Yuri softly, giving Jessica a light nudge on her shoulder.

"But with them, it can boost the chances of you being treated, Jessica-sshi"

"I rather die then get treated by people being hired by them" spat Jessica back coldly.

"Jessica-sshi.."
"But..-"

"Stop it, just get out of my sight if you're doing it with these doctors"
"If you dont, i'll be the ones getting out" threatened Jessica coldly, with her free hand on the infus, ready to pull it out anytime.

The doctors were shocked, but remained calm.

"Alright Jessica-sshi"
"We'll ask them go and only the ones who have treated you in the previous cycle stay" said the doctors as they urged the new ones to leave the room.

After the new doctors left, Jessica turned to the doctors with an apologetic look.

"Im sorry for that"
"There are some personal reasons i dont want them to be here helping me" said Jessica.

The doctors nodded with a smile.

"We understand"
"So, let us brief you on your next cycle of treatment for now"
"Is it okay?"

Jessica nodded.

"So, like it is"
"It will be a 7 days treatment cycle"
"We'll be doing 6 days chemotheraphy with a day of radiotheraphy"
"And thrice a day of the chemotheraphy medicine for the spine"

"Thrice?!" gasped Jessica in shock.
"Why is it that much?"

"Because we feel that its working for the cancer cells there Jessica-sshi"
"So we're trying with a heavier dose"
"If it works, probably in a cycle or two the cancers cell over at your spine would be totally gone"

Yuri carressed Jessica's back silently,
giving her an encouraging look.
Jessica just sighed silently at it.

"So, the chemotheraphy goes on for 3 days"
"But this time, it will only be at night during the time when you're asleep cause we'll be giving you two doses instead of one"
"We'll see how things work 7 days later"
"If everything is positive, we're pretty sure things can be cured in that way" said the doctor with a confident smile.

"O..kay.." replied Jessica, head casted downwards in disappointment.
"What a verdict.." muttered Jessica under her breath.

With that, the doctors bowed to Jessica politely and left the room,
closing the door behind them.

"Sweetheart, why did you deny the doctors?" asked Yuri with a dumbfounded look.

"Yul, you dont know"
"I dont want to get any help from my parents"
"They might take this chance to threaten me or make me feel guilty for what they've done for me"
"In order for them to achieve what they want from me Yul"
"You will never know what my parents would do"
"To play safe, i'll just give it a miss"
"Plus, i think im doing fine here with the current doctors" explained Jessica with a smile.
"Dont worry about me"
"Things are gonna work out the way as it is" added Jessica.

"Im anticipating the outcome, sweetheart"
"Because im having a great feeling about it!"

"Im not" groaned Jessica in distress.
"You're not the one going through the treatments Yul"

"Awww"
"Sweetheart, i know its hard for you"
"But you know im here for you, like always right?"
"Im sure you'll wanna recover and live life like TaeNy and YoonSun"
"Dont you?"

Jessica thought about it for a spilt seconds and nodded with a smile.

"I guess you're right Yul"
"But.."
"Im not sure if i can withstand everything"
"I dont want to be breaking down everyday in tears"

"Why?"
"Its okay to break down, i'll be here to catch your tears" smiled Yuri sweetly.
"Dont worry to drop your precious tears"
"I'll catch it for you"
"It wont break, im sure"

"YAH!"
"You're still joking around me like this?!" pouted Jessica with puppy eyes.

"Well, cant help it" said Yuri with a cheeky shrug.
"I just want to see your cute smile and pout sweetheart"

"Cunning much.."
"Arent you?"

"Nope" replied Yuri with a shrug.

"Keep denying Yul"
"Dont worry, as long as im out from here forever"
"You'll be dead" chuckled Jessica with a wicked grin.
"Pray god i wont be out, if not you'll be dead"

"Well, i sure hope that you'll be out"
"Cant wait to try it out since i cant die" whispered Yuri to Jessica's ears with a husky voice.

I had to run some errands today and yesterday which explains the broken promise i've made to you peeps.
But for now, i think i can still keep up with my promise.
