Aurora woke up to the smell of pancakes. Her favourite. With much difficulty, she got out of bed, and painfully made her way to her living room. “Good Morning sunshine!” Simon greeted her with the brightest smile she has ever seen.  “I made breakfast. Let’s eat!”

Aurora sat on the sofa. Her apartment is too small, it only has one bedroom, and a kitchen, but it is more than enough for one girl. Simon brings the breakfast tray and sat in front of her. Aurora mentally curses herself. With her hand in the cast, it’s quite difficult to do even the simplest of tasks, like feeding herself. She hates to be dependent.

Simon cuts the pancakes into small pieces and tries to feed Aurora. “I can feed myself Simon.” Aurora protested.

“Don’t argue with me missy. Until that hand is out of the cast, and as long as I am here, I will make sure my Aurora gets fed… And I know you. You get cranky, when u’re hungry, and I wouldn’t want that.”

Audrey stands outside the door of the apartment. She didn’t mean to eavesdrop. The small apartment is not exactly sound proof. Simon has never slept over her place before. Nor has he ever cooked for her, or fed her…. Or called her his. Simon called Aurora “MY aurora”…  

Dari taps his feet as he waits for the elevator to stop at Aurora’s floor. He couldn’t sleep soundly last night. Something is bothering him, he doesn’t even know what it is. He brought a change of clothes for Simon. He needed an excuse to appear at someone’s apartment that early on a Sunday.

Dari steps out of the elevator, and was surprised to see Audrey, looking unlike her usual chirpy self. He stands there for a moment, observing Audrey. Dari knows how close Aurora and Simon is. He doesn’t know what Audrey has heard, but he can only imagine what that girl feels.  “Damn it Simon, you take care of one girl, and you forget the other.”

Dari takes a step forward, took Audrey’s hands and pulls away. Audrey gasped at the sudden contact. She didn’t even notice that Dari was there. She was too clouded in thought. Now Dari is pulling her away from the door and into the elevator.  Dari puts a finger on her lips, signaling her not to make a sound.

“Let’s take a walk, alright?” Dari tells Audrey. Audrey just nods in response.

Dari knows Simon and Audrey is dating, but this girl needs some attention right now, and Simon’s too occupied.
