Chapter 10

Just when you thought everything would be smooth sailing for our lovely couple from now on, our male lead, Aaron Yan goes MIA. With Show’s invitation, Rainie tried to call or catch Aaron online but had no luck. Could she have been wrong about him? Was everything at the Studio just a dream? Rainie didn’t want to think about it anymore; she was afraid that one more second and she would lose all hope for the thing called love.

It’s already Christmas Eve and Aaron was still no were to be found. Rainie checked her watched; it was time to get ready for Show’s party. Rainie did her last mirror check. Rainie decided not to wear the usual festive Red and green, instead she wore a gray A&F short sleeve sweater over a stylish blouse on the top; with an overall style white lacey skirt on the bottom. Rainie smiled at her reflection; her usual cheerful smile looked kind of weak. Finally she opened the locked drawer and reaches for one of the two boxes that lay next to each other. Rainie took out the new box and opened it; inside was a key chain for Aaron. With the key chain securely in her hands, Rainie wished for the only Christmas gift she wanted.

Rainie turned down all the offers for a ride so instead she walked to the party by herself. With the festive decoration and cheerful atmosphere, everything around her seemed to belong in a different world. By the time Rainie realized where she was going, she was already at the top of the stairs that would lead her to Hua Gang, the last place she and Ya Lun visited before he left.

Somehow, this was the last place Rainie wanted to be at right now. So she quickly turns to leave. Someone was standing right behind her and they came face to face with each other. That person was no other than Aaron.

They stood there in silent as tears quickly filled up in Rainie’s eyes. She wanted to yell at him for not returning her calls, making her worry sick about him, and made her miss him till her heart ached. But before she could even open , tears were rolling down her cheeks.

With one arm covering her face, Rainie pushed pass Aaron and tried to get away from him as fast as she could.  Tears blurred her vision and caused Rainie to miss her next step completely. But a strong arm was there to grab hold of her and spin her around to face him.

Aaron: before you get mad at me and stop talking to me completely, can you hear me out first?

Rainie stop trying to hide her teary face and snapped back: why should I?

Aaron: because we are both here even though we didn’t plan for it to happen. So I think its fate.

Rainie finally broke a smile: alright, what is your excuse?

Aaron: There was someone very important in my life when I was a child and I though I found her but I wasn’t sure. I had to go search for myself and find out what is was that I really want. And now I finally found the answer. It’s here right next to you.

Rainie: what kind of excuse was that?

But her smile was enough to give him the answer he wanted, he was forgiven.

Rainie: If you think I’m going to let you off on this one than you are very wrong mister, unless you have a gift for me of course.

Aaron: gift? Can’t I just wrap myself up with a big bow?

Rainie: you wish. After all it is Christmas.

Rainie reached into her purse and pulled out a golden box with a purple bow. When she looked up, a gift box also appeared in Aaron’s hand. As his eyes met hers they both smiled.  Only those who truly believe in their destiny together would curry their gift for each other with hope that fate will bring them together.

Aaron: why don’t you open yours?

Carefully, Rainie untied the white and pink bow sitting on top of the elegant box.

Inside the box was a beautiful diamond cell phone accessory that spelled out the name Rainie.

Aaron: I guess I kind of lied a little bit earlier. I had to take a trip to Japan because my knee was not recovering as well as expected. And you won’t believe my luck beccause while I was there I was fortunate enough to meet the famous Tiffany and Co. designer Frank Gehry.

Rainie: you are saying that what’s in my hand right now is the masterpiece of Gehry, the architect that designed the Guggenheim Museum in Bibao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall?

Aaron: that’s right. Not to mention, the name Rainie is probably one and only in the world. I hope you like it. Now it’s my turn to open your gift.

Rainie looked down at her face: compare to yours, mine is nothing.

But before she could react, Rainie was already in the air. When Aaron finally let her down, Rainie was seeing stars flying all around her.

Author’s note: haha, I hope everyone like the chapter. The cell phone thing, rainie really does have it on her cell (saw it in an interview, so I decided to add it in). As for Aaron’s gift, what do you guys think it is? =P

Rainie and her Hello Kitty mirror which contains a small comb inside (she actually mention in an interview that she is not a hello kitty fan. This mirror was a present and she used it all the time because it work very well. So here I decided to make it a present from Aaron).
