I was touching up my makeup when I heard the doorbell ring. ‘Onew oppa’s here!’ I smiled to myself and hurried to the door to open it for him. Today was Christmas Eve and I was going out for dinner with him. I opened the door to find him handsomely dressed and grinning away as usual. He gave me a kiss on my cheek and led me to the car, opening the door for me. “So oppa, where are we going for dinner?” “I made a booking at an Italian restaurant, it seems pretty good.” We continued talking in the car until we reached the restaurant. We got out and Onew passed his car key to the valet service for them to park the car. We took our seats at a quieter corner of the restaurant and ordered our food. “The ambience here is pretty nice. Anyway, how’s your practice coming along?” “Quite good. My vocal skills and dancing skills have improved a lot since last year. Lee Soo Man even said that there was a possibility of me debuting next year in a new idol group he’s planning when he came to watch all of the trainees today!” I was very happy for him, he had been practicing hard since almost two years ago and had definitely became better. “That’s awesome. I’m sure you’ll definitely get in!” I gave him a big smile and our food arrived then so we began eating.

After dinner, we decided to go to the river nearby to watch the fireworks that would be set off at 12 midnight. When we arrived, it was more crowded than we had expected it to be but luckily we managed to find a bench to sit on. It was ten minutes to 12 and everyone was counting down. I suddenly remembered that I hadn’t given my gift to Onew yet and opened my purse to look for it. I smiled when my fingers closed around the slim plastic casing. I turned to Onew and gave it to him. “Oppa, Merry Christmas! The iPod you’re using now is old already. I specially chose this for you so you must use it kay?”

Onew’s pov:

I looked at the new iPod Nano in my hand and couldn’t help but smile. It was my favourite colour – blue. ‘_____ always knows what I like. Guess I have to give her my gift now. Lee Jinki, you can do this. Have some confidence in yourself. Hwaiting!’ I mentally cheered myself on and calmed myself down before taking out the box from his pocket. I opened the box and looked at _____ directly in her eyes. “_____-ah, I’ve always liked you but I never told you how I felt as you seemed so happy with Key. I’ll never hurt you like he did and I’ll always be there for you. You’re like the shining star in my life and you’re really important to me. I hope that you can put on this star necklace and be my girlfriend. Will you?”

Your pov:

I was surprised by his sudden confession and avoided his gaze. ‘W-what? He likes me? How come I never realized? Well, maybe that’s why he’s alwaysreally caring towards me. It’s no harm agreeing right? I think I like Onew anyway… And just because that jerk left me doesn’t mean that all guys will be like that. So there’s no reason for me to reject him. ‘I looked towards him and smiled.  “Y-yes. I’ll be your girlfriend.” Onew started grinning like a dork after that and hugged me real tight. He took the necklace out from the box and clasped it at the back of my neck. When his hands brushed against my neck, my skin felt all tingly. ‘Guess I do have some feelings for him after all…’ Just as the fireworks started erupting in the night sky, he leaned forward and whispered into my ear, “_____, saranghae” before giving me a sweet kiss. I could feel my face heating up when we ended the kiss and I just stared at the fireworks, too embarrassed to face him.

Next day…

Your pov:

The smell of fried eggs and toast wafted in the air, causing me to wake up feeling hungry. I opened my eyes and looked towards the kitchen. Onew was standing at the stove wearing my pink apron and I couldn’t help but giggle at the sight. I sneaked towards him as quietly as I could and when I got to the kitchen, I went “Boo!” He got so startled that he was stunned for a few seconds with his mouth open. I covered my mouth with both my hands to try and suppress my laughter but it didn’t work. I burst out laughing and laughed so hard that a few tears formed at my eyes. When I finally calmed down, Onew was giving me an evil stare. “Hehe. I just couldn’t resist doing that. Sorry oppa!” “Kim _____! If you ever do that again I will kill you. Understood? Now go sit down and eat your breakfast.” He made the I’m-watching-you hand movement before turning back to the sink to wash the frying pan. I sat down at the dining table and began eating. I practically scraped the plate clean and leaned back on the chair. “Ah, this is really good. Since when could you cook?” I saw Onew smirk from the corner of my eyes. “I’ve always been a superb cook. It’s just that you’re too slow so you never realized.” I hmmph-ed at him and went to watch TV. A cooking show was on and they were making a chocolate cake that looked totally delicious. Onew came over and sat next to me on the sofa. “Oppa, doesn’t that cake look really yummy? Let’s bake a chocolate cake too!”

 I walked to the kitchen and immediately started taking out ingredients like flour, butter and sugar. I measured out the needed amounts of each ingredient and put it all into a big bowl while Onew did the whisking. When the mixture was ready, we poured it into a cake mold and put it into the oven to bake. As I looked at the leftover batter in the bowl, an idea came into my head. I got all the batter onto my hands when he wasn’t looking and called his name so that he would turn around. I immediately placed my palms on his cheeks and rubbed so that it would be all over his face. He took awhile to realize what had happened and when he did, I swear the expression on his face was just creepy. “So you want to play huh _____?” Then, he took the bag of flour from the table and poured it on me, covering me from head to toe in it. I glared at him and threw some sugar at him. We continued for awhile until I threw an egg at him, messing up his favourite shirt. “That’s it _____, the game’s over.” He said this in a serious voice and walked slowly towards me. ‘Uh oh. Looks like I’m in big trouble. Run!’  I started running for my life all around the apartment, doing whatever I could to escape from him. Then, I tripped on the carpet and fell flat on the floor. Onew caught up with me and started tickling me non-stop. I laughed and screamed hysterically, pleading with him to stop. “Only if you say sorry and promise to wash my shirt.” “Fine fine. Sorry and I promise to wash your shirt so that it’ll be nice and clean!” I said while trying to get his hands to stop. I sighed in relief when he finally did and I just lay on the floor exhausted. Who knew baking a cake was so tiring. Just then, the timer rang and we got up to check on the cake. I put on mittens and took the cake out of the oven, putting it on the rack to cool. We smothered chocolate frosting on it until it was completely covered. I took a fork and cut out a small piece from the cake and blew on it to make sure it wasn’t too hot. I put it into my mouth and savoured its sweet taste. I cut another piece and blew on it too before letting Onew try it. “It’s good isn’t it? I have natural baking talents.” “As if. I’m the one who made it so good.” We continued bickering while eating and spent the rest of the day together happily.

Dear diary,

Today was Day 1 of being his girlfriend. I spent most of the morning baking with Oppa and we even had a food fight! Did I mention that his cooking tastes awesome? I never knew he could cook… He really is a sweet guy so I’m glad we’re together now. I’ve been feeling happier than I have in the last year or so. Everything seems to finally be back to normal again. Isn’t that just great?! It’s gonna be a new year in a couple of days and I have a job interview at SM Entertainment soon. Hope I do get accepted, then I can see Oppa every day at work!XD It’s weird but I feel kind of insecure even though everything’s going great now. It’s like the calm before a storm… I’m just being paranoid aren’t I? Oh wells. Gonna sleep now, goodnight!
