Unconditionally
Pleasant Imagines, Jinjoo"Alright, thank you everyone for attending the meeting. We'll..." The voice from a computer travels from the study towards the empty, dark living room.
Minju forces a gentle smile, wanting this meeting to end. Her camera's on. It's currently nearing midnight, but her team had a meeting with clients at a different timezone. .
Once the meeting ends, she threw her arms up, slamming down the cover of the laptop. "This is going to be the end of me," she mutters, sighing exhaustingly as she finishes her big stretch.
She rubs her eyes, looking at the time. "Is she not coming back yet?" Minju stands up, going out of the room. No one was around as she walks through darkness.
She lazily lays down and stares at the ceiling. She was tired but wanted to wait for the person who should be home soon.
Slowly, those heavy eyelids got the better of her, knocking her out in a matter of seconds.
...
Beep beep
Yujin unlocks the door and steps into the darkness. She transfers the black plastic bag from one hand to another, taking off her shoes.
She tries to keep quiet, knowing her girlfriend should be asleep by now. It's the unholy hours of the night. She turns to the kitchen, switching on the light there. That's when she noticed the brunette on the couch, sleeping soundly.
Yujin settles the plastic bag on the counter, smiling to herself. Why is she sleeping out here? She takes off her coat, going towards the couch.
Not wanting to awaken her, she quietly squats down. As she tries to slip her arms beneath the latter, thinking of carrying her into the room, Minju wakes up. "Hm?" Confused, she blinks to see Yujin.
"Why are you sleeping here? How many times did I tell you it's not good for you back?" Yujin supports her to sit up.
"The meeting just ended. I must've dozed off." Yeah, it ended an hour ago. Minju runs her hair back. "You just reached home?" Yujin nods.
"Have you eaten?" The brunette was about to stand up but Yujin made her sit back down.
"I bought food." She went to the kitchen to retrieve it. "Gimbap," she said. "Your favourite."
"Me?"
Yujin hums, sitting on the floor with an aluminium-wrapped gimbap. "I thought of you. You told me you had a meeting, so this is supper." She looks at Minju, feeding her a piece.
"I didn't tell you anything."
"I heard you talking about it yesterday." She shoves a piece into . "How did it go? The meeting." Yujin gently fixes the latter's bed hair.
Minju crosses her legs above the sofa. "They're going to discuss our idea. I think it's going fine." She had a project in the making. Minju works as an idea developer for a company.
"That's good news." Yujin feeds her another. "You don't have to stay up anymore. Say bye-bye to sleeping at 3 am." She was happy.
"I still have a long way to go. You?" Minju reaches for the girl's head, putting her hand above. "How's the new office?"
"Didn't get to explore. I had to finish the landscape design by today and I think I'm screwed." She's an architect. "I should be in the office now. But it really doesn't matter because I'll still get it done after getting an earful from him." She smiles through it.
"Do you wanna know something?" Minju hums, gently rubbing her head. "I was finishing with a building, and then I thought of you."
"You always think of me." The brunette pulls her to sit closer.
"What do you think of a new place?" Yujin places her arm on the latter's thigh.
"New place?" Yujin nods. They've been living in this apartment since their high school days. "I'm fine here."
"Really?"
Minju hums. "I like it here. It's near the trains, and there's a bus stop below. And we lived here the longest." She told Yujin. "But why are you thinking of a new place?"
