Moonbyul has laid with plenty of women before Yongsun. This should be no different. And yet she couldn't help but feel so unfamiliar with how she was feeling.

"Yongsun..." She only whispered, torn between watching the queen sleep and waking her up to spend some time with her.

With all the thoughts that runs in her mind every single day, she almost forgot how enchanting the queen's face looked. There was no doubt that Yongsun is one of the most beautiful women she had ever laid eyes on, if not the most. And she has seen lots of them, even slept with most of them. And yet, Yongsun seemed to be different than most.

Because unlike any other, she's actually interested in her Queen, and she has no reason to deny it to herself. Yongsun makes Moonbyul feel...warm inside. She feels warm right where it shouldn't, right where her heart used to be.

Yongsun seemed to be a light sleeper since she was woken up by such a gentle call. She blinks a few times before sitting straight up as if she was burned. But Moonbyul refuses to let her get up immediately. Moonbyul holds her down quickly.

"Where do you think you're going?" The king asked. Her eyes were silently telling Yongsun that wherever it is, she won't let her.

At least not yet.

Not until she tires of appreciating the queen's beauty. Her wife's beauty.

Moonbyul didn't notice that she had a soft smile plastered on her face. But when she caught herself smiling, she mentally scolded herself. She's the heir of Lunaria. She can't lose her grip just because of some woman.

"You're Moon Byulyi. King of Solaris and soon to be Emperor of the Lunarian Empire. You're meant for great things. For great power. Nothing should distract you from being the best. Nothing should hold you down -definitely not love." Moonbyul shakes the idea off of her head. No. Definitely not love. And she shouldn't worry because she couldn't possibly love the person she just met, even if it was her wife. Especially not her wife. Her guts told her that would be a bad idea - not that she's even sure she's still capable of love.

When Moonbyul could feel Yongsun trying to get up again, Moonbyul scoots in closer. "Lay still." she demands.

She wants to prove to herself that she is still in control.

Yongsun realizes how close their faces were, and she gives her wife a questioning look.

"Don't pretend like you don't like it." Moonbyul smirks, her eyes teasing.

"Like...what?" she asks, playing along.

"This." Moonbyul thriftily answers. "Me, holding you." she says so casually, trying to get a reaction out of Yongsun.

"What gave you an idea that I like it then?" Yongsun replied, holding back a smile, but Moonbyul has already caught a glimpse of it.

"Don't you?" Moonbyul genuinely asks her. She hates how she already knows the answer and yet she wanted to hear it from her wife. This isn't good. Moonbyul tells herself.

"What do you think?" Yongsun asks back.

"I think you do like it." Moonbyul confidently declares. "I like holding you, as well." she adds, convincing herself that she was only saying it so that she could get closer to the queen, but then she feels her eyes glow red.

This is bad. Moonbyul thinks to herself.

"I don't hate it." Yongsun quips with a shy smile.

Moonbyul couldn't help but smile a bit wider. By the looks of it, the queen is in a pretty mess herself. She seems to be falling for Moonbyul's words and actions - the worst mistake she could ever do - in Moonbyul's opinion. But that's not her problem. She concludes that she should stop overthinking and humor herself to enjoy the moment.

Moonbyul let out a slight chuckle before placing her lips near Yongsun's ear, 'Women either like my touch or love it, Yongsun." she whispers, tracing the back of her hand on Yongsun's temple down to her cheeks until her thumb settled on her chin. "No one simply 'doesn't hate it'" she insists.

Moonbyul enjoys rendering the queen speechless, which is the state Yongsun is in, at that moment.

And when she finally managed to speak, all she could say was, "Aren't you hungry?"

Byul grinned widely, she would not allow Yongsun to get off so easily. "Oh, I am very hungry." Moonbyul says playfully while trying to ignore the burning need of her body for something that is definitely not food.

Moonbyul noticed how red Yongsun's cheeks were, and she almost teases the queen if she hadn't seen the obvious reluctance in her wife's eyes. Yongsun seemed like she was having an internal battle, just like the one she had earlier.

Moonbyul took this as a warning that she shouldn't be complacent. Yongsun is still a queen who would think for her kingdom. She's not easily swayed by charming words and sweet gestures. She still doesn't trust Moonbyul and the newly proclaimed King knows this. The more reason why she shouldn't let any funny ideas get to her head, especially not the one she was thinking about earlier. If this fragile woman in front of her can hold back her thoughts and feelings, then the more she can do so.

Not that she has any feelings she needs to hold back. She tries to convince herself.

"Yongsun." Moonbyul calls Yongsun's attention.

When Yongsun meets her gaze, Moonbyul realized there was something very wrong with her. Because there it was again, the burning sensation in her chest. A feeling that is very familiar yet very foreign to her. "It's too early to drive yourself crazy by overthinking." Moonbyul states, not sure if it was still directed to Yongsun or to herself.

"We should get up and eat." Moonbyul suggested, and contrary to Yongsun's expectation, Byul stood up before her and prepared herself for breakfast, not looking back at her even once.

"For now, I'm your wife."

Moonbyul didn't know how to respond to that. She didn't expect the Yongsun to embrace their marriage as early as now. It surprised her that the Queen of Solaris sounded as if she is willing to give their marriage an honest try. She's not sure if this is some kind of trick. If this was Yongsun's way of deluding her into thinking that Byul had easily wrapped her around her fingers, only for Yongsun to stab her in the back as soon as she lets her guards down.

No. That should never be the case.

Could Yongsun be that clever? Moonbyul wonders. She thinks that the queen can be if she wanted to, but being
