He arranged steps slowly as to deliberately delaying time. His hand was placed on EunByul's back as he gently rubbed her daughter's.

As soon as he saw his father, Byul changed his direction, headed towards the crowd, trying to disappear within it. When he saw his father talking to Mr Lee again, Byul quickly escaped his father's eyes before approaching to Yongsun and Sodam's table.

"Byul!" called Chairman Moon when he saw his son was walking fast, getting away from him and his friends.

"Byul, come here!" called him again while waving at his son.

Whose child was he holding? He whispered wondering who was the little girl in Byul's arms.

"Let him, maybe he didn't see us, Moon," Mr Lee Sieun said as Byul turned to other direction.

"Where os he going now? Wait, let me called him,"

"Dad!" called Minhyuk when he saw his father trying to catch up with Byul.

He rushed forward to get Chairman Moon. He pulled his father's arm before he stepped away. The father  stopped walking, facing Minhyuk with question marks. His eyes and Minhyuk met each other, things about Byul was forgotten for a moment.

 "What's the matter, Minhyuk?"

“I need to discuss something with you, dad.” Minhyuk said, deliberately inventing to begin the conversation.

When he turned back to call Byul, his son had already disappeared. For a moment Byul turned back, looking in his direction and saw Minhyuk was talking to their father. He managed to signal him back to Byul, telling him to go immediately. Byul expressed a gratitude in his heart. Calmly, he stepped to Yongsun and Sodam's table. His steps stopped in front of Yongsun.

"What are you doing, Byul? I saw you just now. Walking like a crab, turn here and there." Sodam asked weird.

Byul grinned. He turned again, looking at Minhyuk who was still talking with their father. Chairman Moon's face looked happy while patting his son's shoulder.

"I had something earlier, Sodam," he said before turning his gaze to Yongsun again. "I'm sorry, Yongsun. I carried EunByul here and there without permission."

"It's okay," Yongsun replied, holding out her hands to welcome her daughter.

But Byul didn't had heart to hand the child who had fallen asleep into her mother's arms back. He still faithfully rubbed Eunbyul's back with his hand.

"Wait a minute. She's asleep, I'm afraid she'll wake up later," said Byul, voicing his concern.

Yongsun just nodded.

"If you don't mind, can I send you and Eunbyul home? She seems tired already. It's not good to let her fall asleep here," Byul said softly.

"I already wanted to bring her back," admitted Yongsun.

"It's okay, Byul. No need to bother. Let me send them. I dont have the mood to stay here," said Sodam, glancing at Yongsun's face.

"I really want to go back now, Sodam. I'm tired of staying here. There's nothing for me to do. Let me drop them on the way home," said Byul, didn't want to admit defeat.

"Actually, Byul, Yong doesn't want to come. I forced her to come here, let me send her back to her house. It's not good to bother you, Byul," Sodam replied again.

"What is not good? I really want to go back now. It's not that hard to send them back," said Byul.

"Just let me go back by taxi" cut Yongsun who tried to stop the conflict between Byul and Sodam. She was not a child who did not know how to go home alone.

"No!," Both men said at the same time. They look at each other. No one did not want to give up first.

"Fine, you're the one who sent her. Make sure she and Eunbyul get home safely," Sodam said. He stepped away from them without a word. There was a small hope in his heart. Hoping Yongsun stopped his step. The hope that wanted Yongsun to choose to go home with him, not Byul. If Yongsun had called his name even once, he would have changed direction, turning back to get her. However, it did not happen. Yongsun just froze, did not say a word.

In fact, Yongsun wanted to call Sodam. However, for some reason felt heavy. Probably because she was angry at him for his lies about Jisoo. Or maybe it's because of the man's took light about her daughter's safety. Yongsun hated seeing the way Sodam looked at Eunbyul. She hated the way Sodam treated her daughter. Sodam was probably capable of being a romantic lover to Yongsun but it was difficult to be a loving father to Eunbyul.

Sodam's steps were only followed with her eyes until the man disappeared behind the crowd. Yongsun was embroidered with guilt.

"Where do you live, Yongsun?" Byul asked, a bit upset to see the way Yongsun looked at Sodam.

"In Mapo." Yongsun replied short.

"Let me send you guys," said Byul while begin his steps leaving the function hall. Yet he turned back when he realized that Yongsun was still stood in the same place, not following in his footsteps.

"It's okay, Byul. I don't want to bother anyone. I can go home on my own. Give Byulie to me," she asked.

"I'm sincere, Yongsun. I'm pity her. I can't bear to see you take her home by taxi. After all, it's already late, it's not safe for you to go home alone," Byul persuaded.

"Lets go." he said.

Despite feeling reluctant, Yongsun followed in Byul's footsteps from behind. She stepped on tiptoe, down the stairs in front of the main entrance of the hotel. The heels she was holding were not sheathed to her aching feet. Byul then slowed his pace, allowing Yongsun to walk together with him.

As soon as he reached the last stairs, Byul immediately stoped his steps. Yongsun's steps also followed to stop. She looked at Byul with questions but was answered when she saw Byul's action.

The man bent his body while his right arm strongly supported EunByul's body so not fall. One by one the dress shoes on his feet were removed.

"Road in Korea not all clean. I don't want you to get injured." said Byul.

He bowed his body once again. This time, the shoes that was hooked on the tip of his fingers of his left hand was placed in front of Yongsun's feet.

"Wear it," He said even though he knew his foot size was much larger than Yongsun's size.

"No, Byul. What will people say later. I dont want to be a reasons of you walking barefoot." Yongsun refused.

"I don't care," replied Byul.

"What do they want to say, just say. I don't lose anything if I don't listen to them. Frankly, I'm happy to help you and Byulie," he added.

The shoes that Byul took off were tucked into her feet. The loose shoes were dragged along her feet slowly, stepping on the tarred road. Several times she turned to look at her daughter. Her little girl who had fallen asleep in Byul's arms may have been swept away by a sweet dream.

"Where is daddy, mommy?"

The question that Eunbyul asked her last week disturbed her heart. Her daughter's voice seemed to be still ringing in her ears. The thing that Yongsun feared the most after so long finally came up. Eun Byul was already smart enough to think and ask about her father.

Perhaps she learned the word from friends in the nursery. Then she began to wonder why she did not have a father like her other friends. Her face turned gloomy as Yongsun sighed, giving no answer to the question asked.

It's not easy for Yongsun to silence EunByul. The little girl always asking eloquently. Yongsun didn't want to lie but at the same time she hd no strength to be honest with her daughter.

She wanted her daughter to grow up like any other child in a happy family. But what could she do? She herself did not even know who the father of her daughter was. A killer? Or a drug-dealer? Yongsun didn't know at all. Perhaps Eun Byul’s life would be happier without finding out who her biological father was. Sometimes she thought about her future filled with glorious light if the dark events of the past had not been tarnished in her life. Perhaps, she will get excellent results in her last subject. Her parents must have smiled proudly. She will carve a smile, posing with her best friend, Sunmi on her graduation day.

Eric will be loyal by her side and maybe by this time they were married and have children as Eric had planned before. Yongsun once believed that Eric would be a good father to her children. He once believed Eric would be sincerely loyal to her and would not turn away forever. But she was wrong. Their love had been betrayed.

"Yongsun!" The woman lowered her face, not wanting Byul to see the tear drops running down her cheeks.

"Yong," said Byul softly.

The palm of his hand was placed under Yongsun's chin, welcoming her tears that fell with the pain she endured.

"What is this, Byul?" Yongsun asked as she wiped the tears on her cheeks, wanting to stop it from falling into Byul's palm.

"I'm the one who should ask you that question. Why are you crying, Yong? Is there something wrong? Did I make you sad? Or did I hurt you?" Byul asked repeatedly.

Yongsun shook her head. "Nothing. It's just my leg hurts,"

"You want to go to the clinic?" Byul asked softly.

Yongsun shook her head again. "Just a bit only,"

"Come on, Yong. My car was parked there." said Byul, trying to cut the tension between them.

The button on his car key was pressed. On his car key hung a key chain with the letters 'KYS' from wood carvings.

"Kim Yong Sun," Yongsun joked as she pointed a finger at the keychain on Byul's car keys.

"That keychain is like the initials of my name, KYS."

Byul chuckled. "Yes, I made it special to remember you," he said in a joking tone even though his words were true.

The keychain was deliberately ordered based on the initials of Yongsun's name. He wanted to pin the girl’s name in his whole life, remembering the girl every second and time. Byul didn’t want to forget about his responsibilities to Yongsun and his child.

He carefully open the back door. Their daughter small body was laid in the back seat first before pulling the front door for Yongsun.

He waited until Yongsun went inside before closed the door back. Then he returned to the driver's room and started the car engine.

"Have you eaten yet?" asked Byul as he turned his car to the main road.

"It's okay, Byul. I'm not hungry," Yongsun replied coldly, not looking at Byul next to her.

The thing was, Yongsun felt lazy to answer Byul's question. She was entangled thinking of her sense of responsibility as a mother that was neglected. The guilt  in her heart chain together with her
