My fingers hit the notes on the piano, trying to remember the s to each bar. Line after line, I practiced continuously, trying to get a grip of the emotion of the song. I believed that as long as I knew the emotions the song was trying to portray, I would be able to feel the rhythm and melody deeper and perform with more feelings.
