Chapter IV
Say Yes To The Limelight
This chapter takes place on the same day as the previous chapter….
SM Halls
“Leaving already?” Ryan asked as she came around the corner, heading to Civannah’s office.
“Already? It’s seven thirty.” Civannah responded.
“Sorry. It’s early for us idols.” Ryan laughed. “Anyway, I just wanted to see if you wanted to join the group for dinner?”
“Ah. Next time. I’m still getting used to the time change.”
“That’s understandable. Next time it is.” Ryan agreed as she walked with Civannah back to the elevator.
“Soo…. I know you had to have seen the article by now…” Ryan began as they waited for the elevator to come. “What are your thoughts?”
“On?” Civannah asked with a raised brow.
“Changmin’s ideal type?”
“Should I be mad he named another woman?”
“If my boyfriend named another woman, I’d be pissed.”
“Then we should hope your boyfriend never does.” Civannah answered as they walked into the elevator.
“So what’s your deal?” Civannah asked, turning to Ryan as soon as the elevator door closed.
“You’ll never last. You aren’t suited to date an idol.”
“And you based that off of what? Eleven hours of knowing me.”
“Look it’s nothing personal against you but I’m sure someone else has already told you that situations like this don’t end well.”
“You mean falling in love?”
“You’ll never be able to understand some of the things he’s going through.”
“And you will?”
“Don’t flatter me? I don’t want Changmin, but one of his friends needs to be rational about it. If the guys aren’t willing to do it then I will.”
Just then the elevator door opened.
“Have a good night.” Ryan waves with a fake smile as the elevator door closed leaving Civannah on the ground floor.
Civannah walked to the front like Matthew told her when he left to grab the car. She didn’t see Matthew due to the darkness and rain that had fallen upon Seoul.
As Civannah texted Matthew, she tried to not let her conversation with Ryan affect her.
‘Am I being reasonable about this..’
“About what?” Matthew asked as he walked through the door with an umbrella.
“It’s nothing.. let’s get going, you've had a long day, you should get some rest.” Civannah smiled, grabbing the umbrella from Matthew and opening it outside so they could both walk under it.
“You didn’t need to share the umbrella.” Matthew spoke once they both were in the car and headed back to Civannah’s apartment.
“And let you get wet? No thank you.” Civannah said, causing Matthew to smile. “Let’s not think of this as I’m the boss and you work for me. Think of it more as a friendship.”
“Are you sure you want to think of it as a friendship?”
“Why? Can’t we be friends?”
“It’s just no one I worked for would have suggested that we be friends. Especially when you’re supposed to leave in a few months.”
“Well I’m not like everyone. You’re my friend and that’s that.” Civannah said, crossing her arms to show she was serious.
“You definitely aren’t like everyone else. Friend.” Matthew replied with a smile equal to Civannah's.
When Matthew dropped Civannah off, she headed up to her apartment alone, after assuring Matthew that she would be fine and to text her when he made it home safely. Civannah stopped infront of her door when she saw the door was cracked.
“I could have swore I locked everything properly before i left…” Civannah said aloud as she slowly opened the door the rest of the way and walked inside.
“What is this?” Civannah whispered as she looked at the decorated table surrender by lit candle’s.
“My apology for not being able to see you on your first day in Seoul because of my schedule.”
“Changmin?? When did you get here? How did you get in here?”
“My key of course.” Changmin said with a chuckle as he moved towards Civannah and took her into his embrace. “You didn’t think this place was just for you? How else am i going to see you everyday.”
“It’s weird to think were going to see each other everyday…”
“I told you from the start that i’ll do anything to make this relationship work.” Changmin said as he led Civannah over to the table, pulling her seat out for her.
“So who helped you out with this?” Civannah asked with a smirk, knowing that Changmin couldn’t have done this all on his own since he had a schedule today.
“The guys helped me.” Changmin yelled from the kitchen as he grabbed their dinner.
“Taemin and Jongin helped you?”
“Jongdae too. Since Yunho had a schedule, Jongdae offered to help.”
“I’ll have to thank them too. But you really didn’t have to go all out for me.”
“If you think this is all out then be prepare to be surprised in the future.” Changmin smirked, causing them both to laugh.
They both caught up with each other over dinner. Changmin explained what project he had been working on recently while Civannah shared her experience of her first day. Currently they were laid up on the couch, with Batman playing in the background. I say background because Civannah’s mind was nowhere near present for the movie.
“Christian Yu.”
“Who’s Christian Yu?” Changmin asked, looking down at Civannah.
“He’s this guy that used to be in a Kpop group. C-Clown I think? Anyway If someone asked me who my ideal type was, I’d say Christian Yu.” Civannah answered as she got out of Changmin’s arms and sat up so she could look at him. “Your friend Ryan asked me how I felt about the interview today…”
“You met Ryan….”
“Yeah…. anyway she said that she’d be pissed if her boyfriend said someone else’s name as their ideal type.”
“So are you?” Changmin asked hoping that Yunho would be wrong and she wasn’t mad about it.
“Should I be? Do you like her?”
“No. You’re the only one that I love. It was stupid to say but I didn’t think that they would leave it alone if I didn’t give them an answer.”
“That’s another reason I’m not mad. I saw the whole thing, I know they were pressuring you and the only thing you could do to not reveal our relationship would be to name an idol.”
“I really don’t deserve you.” Changmin said with a smile, pulling Civannah into his embrace, kissing her forehead.
“Yeah…well I really don’t deserve you either.” Civannah hummed as she wrapped her arms around Changmin, smiling as she was comforted by the sound of his heart beat.
