(Pt. 2)

He first let go of himself from her embrace. He grabbed some tissues and wiped the tears off his face. She sat away from him, so he could calm himself down. 

A few hours later, he sent her to the door. She had no schedules today, so she wasn’t in a hurry. 

He had just let out all his feelings, and he needed time to rearrange his thoughts. 

But he was thankful to her, thankful that she came for him, and she came because she understood him and she still cared for him, despite being apart. 

He said to her, “Um.. thank you for today, Naeun-ah. With you being here… I won’t say that I’m all good, I’m fine now, but I do feel better. Thank you for coming.” 

She shook her head. “No, its okay. I just came because your mom was worried about you. I know… you’ll be going through hard times, but… just.. wanted you to know that I am here… even.. even… if we’re not a couple… we could still be friends.” 

When he heard the words “we’re not a couple”, he felt… strange and uncomfortable. 

But he knew this wasn’t the time. He had just let go of his feelings, but he still had to deal with the grief and guilt that lingered in his head. 

He gave her a relieved smile to reassure her.

Late Jan, 2018

He talked with s, and they all agreed to continue with the Tokyo Dome concert, as it was his brother’s last wishes, he didn’t want to let him down. They went into preparation right away. He felt the empty space in between the rehearsals, the conversations and everything, but he felt better. He accepted his own emotions. He still blamed himself, but he knew that it was pointless now anyways, because his brother, his teammate, his friend wouldn’t have wanted that anyway. 

Sometimes Naeun lingered in his mind. He knew he thought she’s important, but he wanted more time to figure out his feelings. 

He had to deal with the lingering grief from his friend, the stress and burden from singing all the high notes in Tokyo Dome concert, the dance rehearsals… he had so much to deal with. He wanted to deal things one by one. 

So he focused on the performance, focused on preparing, finding out ways where they could give the most respect to his lost friend.

March, 2018

A few weeks after the concert, he had some free time. He took the time to go to many places, with his friends and alone. He was an introvert, so he never really left the hotel room whenever they went abroad. But this time was different. He wanted to see the world, for himself, but also for his friend. He will see it for his dear friend, and tell him how it went. 

His mental state was better, and he was slowly healing. 

He did think about Naeun. She was there when he needed her the most. It took him a while to figure out his thoughts and feelings. About seven months ago, when they broke up, he thought he could always come back to her, always find her when he has finished achieving all his passions and dreams on stage. But the death of his friend reminded him, that things could change. He couldn’t take everything for certain and assume that she would still have feelings for him, or that she would still be there, waiting for him. 

Fate can be sudden and harsh, it could take away his loved ones. He learned this the hard way, that no one would ever wait for love. If he loves her, then he should take her hand, and hold it tight, right here, right now, and never it let go, because he doesn’t want to let her go. He never wanted to let her go, and will never do. Because… no one would ever wait for love. He promised himself silently, after he can look forward, after he can accept that his friend is gone, after he paid his last respects, he will go to her, once again, and will never let her go.

And so he did.
