Yongsun woke up with a content sigh but when she turned to see the bed empty she frowned. Looking around aimlessly she wondered where the soldier had gone.

For a second, she began to feel insecure wondering if the woman left because of their night. Did Wheein regret what they did? Was she not ready yet? Had she made a mistake? Every question ran through the mother’s mind.

She quickly slipped on some clothes and left the room in a worried state. However, there in the kitchen stood the blonde. Sunhee was on Wheein’s back and the two danced along to a song while the soldier prepared breakfast.

The mother watched from afar and she could feel her heart race at the sight. In front of her were her wonderful daughter and her beautiful girlfriend. Just that title alone made Yongsun beam with happiness.

The two in the kitchen were oblivious to the older woman watching them as they continued to sing and giggle. It seemed like they were trying to be quiet but their efforts weren’t very strong.

“Kid, we have to be quiet. We don’t want to wake your mom up before we surprise her,” Wheein whispered and the little girl shut and pretended to zip it up.

Yongsun overheard the conversation and noticed that the two were almost done with breakfast. She glanced at them again with glimmering eyes and smiled before heading back to the room.

After the two were done making the breakfast, they placed it on a bed tray and quietly tiptoed to the room. There they saw the woman peacefully laying in the bed, a small smile on her lips.

Wheein looked at the woman softly before signaling to Sunhee to wake up her mom. In a split second the little girl jumped on the bed and shook the woman excitedly.

“Mommy, wake up!!!” Yongsun pretended that she just woke up, letting out a confused groan and wiping the ‘sleep’ from her eyes.

“What’s happening,” the mother rasped out and the blonde walked over, placing the breakfast tray in front of her.

“Good morning, unnie! We made you breakfast.” In front of her was a pancake with fruit placed on it to look like a happy face. The mother mirrored the pancake, looking up with a bright smile on her face but tears pricking in the corner of her eyes.

Wheein and Sunhee looked at her with concern etched on their faces, and they both sat down close to the woman, sandwiching her in the bed.

“Mommy, are you okay? Did we make you sad?” The little girl asked worriedly. Yongsun shook her head as a tear slowly went down her cheek.

“No, I’m not sad. I’ve actually never been happier,” the mother revealed and the two beside her beamed with happiness before hugging her as tight as possible. The older woman felt crushed but she couldn’t complain because at that moment she felt so loved.

While Yongsun ate her breakfast, they began talking about their nights since Sunhee insisted they tell her how their date went. They gave her a PG-13 version and the little girl listened with excitement. When they finally revealed that they were in fact together, Sunhee let out an excited yell causing the two older women to laugh.

Yongsun felt so calm at the moment. She wanted to remember this moment forever.

When the mother was done eating, they all agreed to get ready for the day. Wheein went to the bathroom to change her bandages but she forgot to lock the door. Yongsun mindlessly went inside and when she saw the woman shirtless, about to take off her bandage, the older woman stopped her.

“Here, let me,” the mother said in a soothing tone, and the blonde silently accepted. Taking off the bandage carefully, it was the first time the older woman ever saw the scars in full. She could see the deepness of the scar tissue and she frowned thinking of how much pain Wheein must have gone through.

Usually, when someone else patched her up, the soldier would feel somewhat embarrassed or ashamed. However, at that moment, she only felt comfortable and cared for especially with how gentle the woman was being.

When Yongsun was done putting on the bandage, she gave a light kiss to the top of Wheein’s hip before standing up. Being face to face, the soldier couldn’t help but pull the woman in for a kiss to express her gratitude.

Eventually, the kiss led to an intense makeout session and they enjoyed ‘getting ready’ in the shower together. Wheein thought she wouldn’t mind having every morning like this.

After the two had their steamy shower session, they got dressed and went to the living room to find Sunhee sitting with Wheein’s mother.

“Good morning you two,” the eldest greeted and the two greeted back. They sat close together on the couch, holding hands, and Wheein’s mother couldn’t help but chuckle at how cute they looked. “So I take it last night went well?”

“Yes, everything went well,” the blonde revealed, holding Yongsun’s hand.

“I’m glad. Let me guess, Wheein asked first?” The elder woman questioned and the other mother’s smile slightly dipped revealing the truth. “Oh, Yong…” Everyone laughed at the woman’s words including Yongsun.

The two retold what happened to Wheein’s mother and after they were finished, Yongsun couldn’t help but realize something.

“Wait, how did things go with Byul and Hyejin?” The mother asked curiously looking around to find no trace of the doctor. Sunhee and Wheein’s mother looked at each other with an unreadable expression.

“Well…” the eldest began and Yongsun and Wheein listened closely.

When Wheein’s mother, Sunhee and Byulyi got to Hyejin’s mother’s house, they were greeted with a full meal. While everyone was eating, the doctor at the table kept looking down, not able to meet the homeowner’s eyes.

When she went to get her stuff earlier that day, she was able to slip inside and avoid the woman since the door was unlocked. She felt guilty not letting the woman know what happened.

After their dinner, Hyejin’s mother excused herself to go to the backyard and Byulyi thought now was a good time to talk to the older woman before Hyejin came home.

Stepping out, she saw the older woman standing in front of a particular stone, her back turned away from the doctor.

“Ajumma?” Byulyi called out not wanting to scare the older woman but instead of answering she just gestured for the doctor to come closer. Byulyi continued to stand behind the mother, not sure exactly what to do.

After a moment, the elder woman turned around with a small smile on her lips and the doctor just felt guiltier.

“Ajumma, I just wanted to say sorry that I disappeared without telling you. I guess you also noticed that I got my stuff in secret,” the younger woman said sincerely, hanging her head. The older woman grabbed the doctor’s face and forced her to look at her.

“Don’t worry, Byul-ah, I understand. Hyejin already told me what happened… I’m sorry she’s so stubborn.” Byulyi slightly chuckled at her words and shook her head.

“Don’t worry, she had every right.” Hyejin’s mother nodded and then turned back to the stone she was looking at. The doctor noticed and also looked down and saw how it was a stone dedicated to Hyejin’s father.

“You know, he would’ve been so happy to see you,” the mother revealed and Byulyi sadly smiled. “Even though he wanted to kill you after you left, if he knew you came back he would’ve forgiven you.” That earned another chuckle from the doctor. “I just know that all he wanted for Hyejinie is to be happy and you brought her the most happiness…”

“I hurt her though,” Byulyi admitted, and the older woman scoffed.

“Who hasn’t hurt someone they loved? It’s what you do afterward that matters.” The younger woman remained silent at the mother’s words being reminded by what Wheein’s mother said earlier. “I know you can’t force anything, but for my sake and her father’s sake, try and make her happy again.”

The doctor nodded at the woman’s words and continued to remain silent. The words put a heavy feeling in her heart. She wanted more than anything to make Hyejin happy again, but she knew that the younger woman had many fears.

Eventually, Hyejin arrived home and when she opened her door she was not expecting to find visitors. Especially visitors that should definitely be at another house right now.

“Hello, Hyejin-ah,” Wheein’s mother greeted and the brunette looked at her confused.

“Uh, hi, ajumma…” the woman trailed off when Sunhee waved at her as well and she just waved back. “Wheein said you had dinner prepared at home?”

“Oh, that was a lie. Yongsun planned a date for her and we wanted them to be alone,” the elder woman explained and Hyejin nodded still not processing what was happening.

“Oh okay. Where’s my mom-” the brunette was about to ask but the elder woman in question emerged from the backyard with a certain doctor trailing behind her. Seeing Byulyi and her mother together made Hyejin’s eyebrows furrow.

“Hyejin-ah! There’s food on the table if you’re hungry,” her mother greeted casually and the doctor looked at her with sad eyes. Hyejin nodded and escaped to the kitchen, not wanting to look at Byulyi’s sad face anymore.

While she was eating, someone came and sat next to the brunette at the table. She was scared it was the doctor she was avoiding so she kept her head down and focused on her food.

“Unnie, let’s not do this right now,” the woman mumbled.

“Do what right now?” The high, squeaky voice caused Hyejin to finally look up and she saw Sunhee looking at her confused.

“Oh, sorry Sunhee. I thought you were someone else,” the older woman said a bit embarrassed.

“You thought I was Byul unnie didn’t you?” The brunette nodded her head hesitantly. “Byul unnie has looked really sad since we’ve been here. Do you know why?” The question caught the woman off guard and she almost choked on her food.

“Um- uh- yeah. I know why,” Hyejin answered honestly and Sunhee frowned a bit.

“It’s grown-up stuff, isn’t it?”

“You could say that…”

“Do you think Byul unnie wishes she was a kid again? That way she won’t have to go through grown-up stuff?” The brunette had to hide
