A step back
RoommatesThe tension that ruled over their household slowly dissipated since the night that Byul-yi talked to her roommate about a fair amount of the truth. Their lives resumed as normal as things quieted down. Neither of them mentions much about their conversation, but Yong-sun tries to remind herself before making possible ill comments, while Byul-yi tries to slowly open up to her roommate.
It's not easy, given Yong-sun's carefree attitude, and Byul-yi's seven years of solitude, but they try to make it work. So that they can stay with each other just a little longer.
Yong-sun quietly typed away at her laptop in the dining room, slowly rekindling her muse to write, fleshing out the plot for her next story. It's nice to write impromptu occasionally, but sometimes having a plan isn't so bad either. She sighed as she stretched her arms, glancing at the clock. It was 6 pm, and Byul-yi would be home from work soon.
She saved the document that she worked on for the past few hours, shutting her device down as she started to prepare dinner. It's been a while since they both had a meal together, Yong-sun was excited to finally properly eat with her roommate.
Despite trying to open up to her roommate, Byul-yi still stuck to her programmed timetable, reaching home at exactly 7 pm, removing her shoes in the exact manner as she's always done, removing her tie in the exact manner as she's always done, but her expression was one laced with worry and extreme frustration.
"Everything alright?" Yong-sun asked as she looked at Byul-yi, the worry almost contagious, spreading into her tone.
