A night with you
RoommatesAs the two of them arrived home, Byul-yi holding onto a bottle of wine while Yong-sun held on to some take out, Yong-sun could only be excited as she possibly can. Her roommate, her roommate who always gave vague answers, agreed to tell her more about her personal life, willingly of course.
Byul-yi could only feel a sense of dread as she looked at Yong-sun, a mischievous grin on her face, regretting agreeing to answer her questions about anything she wanted.
Yong-sun pretty much sped through dinner, only piling on to the sense of dread that Byul-yi had in her heart as she quietly finished her dinner, taking a sip of their wine. "Alright, I know I agreed to it, but please go easy on me if I can't answer everything," she said, leaning her head on her hand as she looked at Yong-sun.
"Depends on whether the answers you give infuriate me or not, ," Yong-sun sighed as she looked at her. "So, first things first, what do you work as?"
"A secretary at a local company, the pay is decent and my boss isn't too much for me to handle, so I've worked there for about three years?"
"And you can manage to pay for an apartment like this?"
"Yep."
"Ok then, why bother getting a roommate? You seem much more comfortable on your own," she asked, leaning forward as she rested her chin on her hands.
"It gets lonely," Byul-yi said seriously, catching Yong-sun off guard as she sipped her wine.
"Don't you like being alone?"
"Being alone and being lonely are two completely different things," she replied softly, putting her glass down.
"I see, but don't you have any friends at your company?"
"As you said, I prefer being lonely, so I don't exactly have any friends."
"What about your family?" Yong-sun asked, making Byul-yi tense up before she sighed, taking another sip from her glass.
"I'm a single child, my parents are divorced, and I used to live with my dad until he kicked me out of his house," Byul-yi replied, trying to make things seem as nonchalant as possible.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," Yong-sun said softly, feeling minor awkwardness for even considering to ask that question in the first place.
"Then let me ask you some questions, why did you come here?" Byul-yi asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I wanted some independence."
"Can't be that simple, can it?" she pressed, leaning forward to look at her.
