Longing
RoommatesByul-yi quietly read the note, again and again, not knowing what to think about it. Did Yong-sun run away? Is it her fault for pushing her away too strongly?
"Everything alright?" Her dad's voice came from behind her, making her spin around, the words hitching in , not knowing what to say as she looked at her dad in the eyes.
"Everything alright?" He repeated gently, patting his daughter's head, patiently letting her calm her nerves.
"I need to find her," she forced out, finally snapping to her senses, squeezing the piece of paper tightly in her hand.
"I see, then go find her, I'll help you look after your apartment," He hummed quietly, gently squeezing his daughters shoulders encouragingly. He had always wanted to support his daughter in her relationships, and seeing her want to fight for it now made him proud, and he was glad that he finally had the chance to witness it for himself.
"Thanks, Dad," she replied, a forced smile on her face as the note seemingly burned in her hand, reminding her of what she had to do as she left her apartment in a hurry.
As she left the building, the quick anxious footsteps turned heavy with worry. Where could she even begin to find her? It was getting late, and not many places offered accommodation nearby, was Yong-sun just blindly wandering the streets?
The worry only piled onto her as she tried to think about it logically. She had no pictures of Yong-sun, and she didn't even know what she wore when she left the house, asking passersby whether they saw her would be fruitless. She wouldn't answer her phone, calling and messaging her would be pointless. She could be anywhere nearby, was there even a point to finding her?
She had to come back right?
And yet, knowing full well that Yong-sun would come back one day, she didn't want to just sit and wait around, she wanted to find her as fast as she could.
She got on the bus from the bus station below their building, taking a seat near the window, spending all her attention outside, praying that she'd catch a glimpse of Yong-sun in the few pedestrians that crossed her vision.
She got off the bus when it arribed at the shopping mall they went to, wandering the emptying location, some shops already starting to close, others preparing to close as customers all went in the opposite direction of where she was going.
Every single second she was spending trying to find her roommate was filled with a cocktail of emotions, such as worry, frustration, anxiety and immense annoyance. She wanted to know where she was, and she understood how Yong-sun felt to a certain extent, but at the same time, if she did find her tonight, she'd probably yell at her out of annoyance.
Eventually, the feeling of wanting to find the one she loves became that annoying feeling of finding some brat that ran away because you didn't give them candy.
She was tempted to just go home, just to see how long she'd spend outside, but the thought of Yong-sun waiting for her out in the cold night made her heart falter, the note that was now stuffed in her pocket the only proof she had of Yong-sun's current feelings.
She constantly tried calling Yong-sun, her calls never getting through for even a second, infuriating her even further.
This is all just a dumb, childish game that Yong-sun made, wasn't it? She wants to know Byul-yi's true feelings but won't give her a chance to tell her so, n
