Jennie was staring daggers from across the room at Rosé, who was currently straddling Lisa’s thighs and giving her a massage. The maknae made no attempt to mask how much she was loving the blonde’s hands on her, shamelessly in between giggles on the massage table. Jennie glared and kept pretending to read her magazine from across the room, but the maknae line did not make it easy for her as they switched positions, and Rosé shrieked loudly and flopped around violently as Lisa tortured her with tickles.

“Why so grump, chump?” Jisoo asked, taking a huge bite out of something disgustingly chocolatey, as she sat next to the cantankerous brunette. It was a few hours before their concert, and the Blackpink members were engaged in villain-level kicking back, each in their singularly strange way: Rosé was trying to be helpful, Lisa was tormenting her hapless, blonde friend, Jennie was angry (perhaps her favourite and only real pastime), and Jisoo was being a junkfood-wielding wiseass. “You jealous, Mandu? You want me to tickle you?” the eldest asked, with a ridiculously executed wink, a strange, squirming dance, and firing of finger guns, all of which would have normally made Jennie laugh, but instead she remained endlessly vexed.

“Do they have to be so loud? Some of us are trying to decompress,” Jennie snarled like a cornered badger.

Jisoo looked at the adorable maknae line, who were frolicking like sugar hyped toddlers. “Aww, they’re puppies, Jendeukie, give ‘em a break. You were young once too.”

Jennie gave Jisoo a look that could have incinerated her, and left in a tiny, furious huff.

Across the room, Lisa had leapt off Rosé, laughing hysterically, after the blonde had threatened to end her existence and was about to fling her into the atmosphere with her Hulk-like strength. Rosé had noticed an angry, pocket-sized human stomp out of the room. An angry, pocket-sized human with the most intensely beautiful eyes and the warmest, most infectious smile. Rosé sighed. “Jisoo unnie, is Jennie okay?” the Aussie asked worriedly.

“Oh, y’know Jendeuk, her day isn’t complete if she’s not pissed off at someone,” Jisoo answered with a dismissive wave of her hand.

Rosé walked over to Jisoo. “She’s upset with someone?”

“Don’t even worry about it, she’s always mad.”

Rosé frowned. “Wait... is she mad at me?”

“At you and Limario. I guess you guys were disturbing her beauty spacing out,” Jisoo shrugged. She was so desensitized to Jennie’s tantrums.

“Oh.” Rosé was embarrassed. She never wanted to be inconsiderate or disrespectful in any way. “I didn’t think we were being that disruptive, were we?”

“No, you guys were being cute. I think that was the problem. Jennie hates competition.”

“What do you mean competition? Does Jennie unnie like Lisa?” Rosé asked suddenly.

“Well, there’s a random question. I meant Jennie feels she has a monopoly on cuteness. You been looking at Jenlisa fansites, Chaeyoungie?” Jisoo asked, chuckling.

“Some of it is absurdly hilarious, like talking about matching moles and stuff, but I don’t know. I know Lisa adores unnie, and Jennie... I guess, who even knows what she thinks.”

Jisoo guffawed. “Omg, you have been looking at Jenlisa fansites! Dude, Jensoo is superior! Jennie adores me. She thinks Lisa is a dweeb.”

Rosé blushed a little, partly because she did agree that Jennie was the epitome of cuteness, partly because she had just admitted that she had been looking at Jenlisa fansites. “Mmm... maybe, but at least she doesn’t hate Lisa like she hates me. She can’t stand to be around me,” the blonde answered in a small, sad voice.

“The heck you talkin’ about? Aren’t you her hubby?”

Rosé shrugged, still trying to hide a blush. “I don’t know, I feel like lately she can’t stand to be around me. Her affection comes in waves, y’know? Like, just as I think we are finally friends, she’ll start to ignore me again.”

“Ah, don’t worry about that. Jennie is a moody .”

“She loves you all the time,” the younger pointed out.

“Well, I’m Kim Jisoo.”

“Too true, buddy,” the blonde agreed before
