“MINJOO…”

Chaewon could only watch her sister mercilessly slaughter the phoenix of their dad. She was wailing while she struck the baby with a weapon that Yerim made out of steel. She was still crying after the baby was engulfed in flames once more and completely disappeared in thin air.

Chaewon walked towards Minjoo and tried to console her but the latter swatted her sister’s hand away. “Don’t even touch me!” She shouted as she hurried back to where Yujin’s body was. She made Yujin lie on her lap.

“Minjoo, please—”

“Go away!” Minjoo hissed. “I trusted you, Unnie! I trusted you about Yujin’s identity but why did you tell Dad about it! I told you it was a secret between the two of us!”

Chaewon hangs her head low due to shame. “I’m… I’m sorry… I trusted the wrong person…”

“What will your apology even do!?” Minjoo’s jaws clenched harder. “Will it bring Yujin’s life back!? Will it fix everything!? We could’ve avoided this if Dad didn’t know about Yujin being a honhyeol!”

Chaewon couldn’t do anything but to keep quiet. She’s ashamed of what she’s done. She was fully aware that the ways of her Dad were wrong but she blindly followed him for the sake of being called the better daughter.

“I’m…” The older vampire bit her lips until they bled. “I’m really sorry…”

“Stop fighting, you two.”
