Chapter 11
The Fate of The FourLieutenant General Park Jihyo was, again, tasked to guard Her Majesty’s carriage, whilst Lieutenant General Park Sooyoung was stationed in front of the carriages alongside General Son as the two royal siblings requested that they didn’t need any guard to ride by their carriage. Unknowingly, the crown princess plopped to sleep again as she was emotionally and physically drained from the encounter she had with Private Kang and her sister that morning. The royal princess, on the other hand, was just staring at the sky and inhaling deep breaths of fresh air, until a suggestion suddenly came to mind. The royal princess galloped the former supreme general’s stallion backwards in a slow pace, in order to remove any suspicion from the generals in front of the carriages. She had come to knowledge that the foot soldiers would be marching right from behind the carriages, meaning that the G Company, and eventually, Private Kang, would be walking behind the carriages carrying supplies of food, water, and other basic necessities. Travelling in the opposite directions instantly raised the eyebrows of the members of the 3rd Battalion, however none of them had the guts to question what the royal princess was doing and her intention to do something like that.
From atop her horse, the royal princess finally spotted a foot soldier who was being supported by two other soldiers, each soldier on one side. Trying to take a closer look on the said soldier, the royal princess went down from her horse and ordered one of the soldiers near her to guard and walk the horse. The royal princess, then, walked confidently to where the injured soldier, in which she presumed it to be Private Kang, was located and shortly scanned the face of the said soldier before fully confirming that it was indeed Private Kang. However, she was just in utter shock when she saw how damaged and injured the private looked, prompting her to break through the regular arrangement of the foot soldiers so that she could meet her best friend.
Not wanting to halt the soldiers’ march, the royal princess sleuthed smoothly towards where her best friend was walking and found her almost semi-conscious due to her weakened state. The royal princess dismissed the soldiers marching on the private’s line except for the two soldiers that she had previously met in her sister’s tent, who were also the ones that carried the private on each side.
“Is she more injured than she was before?” the royal princess asked the soldier located nearer to her, Corporal Jung.
“Not really, Your Highness. Private Kang was just extremely tired this morning after returning back from the supplies tent. I guess she just didn’t have the energy to walk anymore, so she’s in the verge of passing out right now,” Corporal Jung informed at the royal princess after the former realized to whom she was talking to and bowed at the latter.
The royal princess further scanned the private’s face and body and managed to see clearly in which areas were the private hurt badly whilst putting up a pissed-off expression.
"Which one of them are the ones who did this?" Royal Princess Bae asked with a low growl accompanying her question.
Sergeant Kim, who heard the royalty's question, hesitantly replied, "It is the three that were marching two rows behind you, Your Highness."
At that time, the young royalty was ready to charge the said soldiers in full force and was also ready to beat the living out of them.
However, her intentions were quickly stopped when the former supreme general weakly uttered, "Please do not exact any revenge on my behalf, Your Highness. I beg you to just let them be, please," before truly passing out.
Not being able to withstand the sting that she felt in her heart, she uttered in a sympathetic tone, “Corporal, can you help me bring Private Kang to my horse? She is in no condition to walk anymore.”
Corporal Jung and PFC Kim were shocked to hear the royal princess’ orders and eyed Sergeant Kim for approval, in which the latter just nodded reluctantly. The three soldiers went out of the marching position and towards the location of the horse rode by the royal princess. Upon their arrival, the royal princess hopped on the back of the horse and helped the former supreme general to also go up to the horse. The royal princess, then, secured the private’s position on her back before thanking and dismissing the two soldiers who had helped her. The young royalty and former supreme general galloped towards the royal siblings’ carriage, in which the latter intended to place the semi-conscious soldier there. Upon making sure that there was someone to take care of the horse she rode, the royal princess, who still carried the weak soldier on her back, walked towards her carriage and gently put the latter right across her sleeping sister. The private, almost instantaneously, drifted off to sleep as soon as she was laid down. After making sure that her sister and her best friend had comfortable sleeping positions, the royal princess went back to her horse and rode on it alongside the carriage.
Hours and hours had passed and it was about time that the crown princess woke up from her sleep. She was in utter shock when she discovered that her girlfriend was sleeping across her, making her thought that she was still in a dream. However, curiosity got the best of her, causing her to lightly poke the sleeping soldier to make sure that she was real. Although it was subtle, the touch from the crown princess quickly made the sleeping soldier to be awaken. The private also couldn’t believe her eyes when she woke up with the sight of the crown princess staring at her dearly and intently.
“Good morning, sleepy head,” the crown princess joked upon her girlfriend, who slowly sit down from her sleeping position.
“Very funny, Your Royal Highness. Real funny,” the private uttered back sarcastically, causing the crown
