I AM [Stray Kids Hogwarts AU one shot series SEASON 2]

i... don't have words. i promised quicker updates, i know but hey, let's just say i've decided to come through today to celebrate that we got our dearest hyunjin back!!

truly, though. i'm sorry for the long waits in between updates. i hope you'll still enjoy this!!

warning: tiny mention of puke

“I’ve never been more nervous in my life, Channie, what if something goes wrong?” Jinwoo asked Chan, slumping back in his seat on his best friend’s sofa.

Chan gave him a reassuring pat on the thigh. “Nothing will go wrong. You two are meant to be!” he told him for what seemed to be the millionth time. The wedding was still two days away but Jinwoo got more and more nervous with every second.

“Aren’t you excited about the kids arriving in London today?” Minho threw in. Jinwoo smiled at that. He was indeed excited to see his friends again. It had been quite a while since they had all been together and he was looking forward to seeing them.

“Ah, about that. Did you check their reservations again?” Chan asked his boyfriend who gave him a confirmatory thumbs up. They had booked a hotel for the others since their space was rather limited and their group of friends was a little too big.

“I can’t wait to see them,” Jinwoo said.

~

“Okay guys we thought we’d split you in pairs since most of you are dating anyway. I hope Renjun and Jisung are fine with sharing a room, though,” Chan addressed the two Ravenclaws who shared a look.

“Wouldn’t be the first time,” Jisung said, throwing an arm around Renjun.

“Great. Here are your keycards. Don’t lose them!” Chan said, handing each of the pairings a keycard. “And don’t get too wild you guys, I’m trusting you,” he said, winking when he handed Jeongin a keycard.

The younger blushed. “We’re not like that!” he protested.

Chan only laughed and ruffled his hair. “I know. I trust you the most,” he assured him.

Jeongin smiled brightly and grabbed Sunwoo’s hand as they made their way to their assigned room.  “This is already the second wedding we’re attending together, can you believe it?” Jeongin pointed out happily.

Sunwoo smiled, slightly swinging their intertwined hands back and forth. “I hope everything will go alright, though...” he mumbled, worried that the curse might mess something up. Jeongin leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek.

“It will be fine. You will be fine.”

They reached their room and entered it with their newly acquired keycard. It was rather spacious and generally not too bad for a three-star hotel. There was a soft, cozy-looking double bed in the middle of the room, as well as two nightstands on either side of the bed. A door would lead to an adjourned bathroom.

“I’m taking the left side!” Jeongin exclaimed, carelessly throwing his bag aside before leaping onto the bed. Sunwoo laughed and did the same. They settled down as the exhaustion of the trip began to catch up with them. Jeongin snuggled up to Sunwoo as the two of them got more comfortable.

“I’m really excited about this wedding. I’m happy you’re here with me,” Jeongin muttered.

Sunwoo smiled and started running his hand through the younger’s hair. “Who do you think is going to get married next?” he asked Jeongin who hummed in thought at the question.

“Probably Seungmin and Hyunjin,” he answered, grinning at how domestic their friends had become over the past year and a half. “Or maybe Chan and Minho? I mean, they live together, after all,” he continued. “I don’t know. I just hope they’ll all end up super happy,” he concluded. Sunwoo chuckled.

“You’re so cute,” Sunwoo said, pressing a kiss to the crown of Jeongin’s head. “You make me super happy, you know that?”

Jeongin beamed at that and side hugged Sunwoo, snuggling even closer. “You make me super happy too.”

Sunwoo smiled, feeling that strange warmth that he only experienced when he was near Jeongin. He, too, hoped that all of his newfound friends would end up happy. They had accepted him as a friend and had given him a chance, even defended him from the people who thought that he was a creep who had cursed Jeongin.

Sunwoo never would have thought that he would ever have more friends beyond Hyunjin.

“Did you pack toothpaste, I forgot mine,” Hyunjin complained with a pout on his face.

Seungmin chuckled and held up a toiletry bag. “I packed it because I knew you were going to forget it,” he pointed out.

Hyunjin let out a sigh of relief and took the toothpaste from his boyfriend’s hand. “What would I do without you,” he said, kissing Seungmin on the cheek. The younger only chuckled and gave his boyfriend a light smack on the when he headed to the bathroom. “Hey, do you maybe want to go to my mom’s place with me now? She should be at work right about now,” Hyunjin called.

Seungmin noticed the forced nonchalance in his tone. The recent events between Hyunjin and his mother were still affecting him, but he tried to put on a brave face in front of Seungmin. They had set out to take their trip to London as an opportunity to fetch Hyunjin’s stuff from his mother’s house since he would not be returning there this summer as per his mother’s request. And maybe it would be even longer than that, considering how damaged their relationship was.

Seungmin still felt a little bit responsible for the way things had turned out. Hyunjin had stood up for him, after all. He had gotten his mother fired as a teacher and now she didn’t want to see him anymore.

“Seung, are you listening?” Hyunjin called from the bathroom, poking his head out.

“Yeah, sorry. I spaced out. Let’s go get your stuff today...” Seungmin replied.

Hyunjin disappeared back into the bathroom for a second and Seungmin heard the tap water running for a second before he came back out, gently cupping Seungmin’s face.

“Everything okay?” he asked. “Did you change your mind about wanting me to stay with you this summer?”

“No! That’s not it, at all! I’m just a little... I don’t know, sad? I mean, your mother was terrible to you but she’s your mother. How can she simply...” Seungmin trailed off, flailing around with his arms for lack of words.

“I think you’re forgetting that she wasn’t just terrible to me, but to you too. Even if she accepted me back, she would still have her stupid prejudice against you. I don’t want her around.”

“But it’s affecting you too and I hate being responsible–”

“Darling, you’re not responsible for the fallout. And yes, I’m not indifferent to what happened. As you said, she is my mother, but I got to see her in a new light back at school. An even more cruel light. Who knows how she treated other muggleborn students?”

Seungmin was pulled into a hug before he could respond. “I love you. Please stop blaming yourself for what happened...”

“I love you too,” Seungmin answered, wrapping his arms around Hyunjin’s waist. “Let’s go get your stuff...”

Changbin flopped onto the bed with a groan, face-down. Felix couldn’t help but chuckle when the older mumbled something incoherent into the sheets.

“I did not understand a single word of what you just said, Binniebunny,” he pointed out.

Changbin lifted his head a little, enough to be able to speak. “I said I’m ing exhausted,” he whined.

He knew that Changbin had a lot on his plate these days. It wasn’t too long until Changbin would graduate so he had to prepare for his N.E.W.T exams and on top of that, being a prefect also wasn’t the easiest thing sometimes.

“You should rest up a little, Binnie. Do you want me to give you a massage or something?” Felix offered.

Changbin smiled and shook his head. “It’s okay. You need to rest too. We’ve had a pretty long trip,” he replied but Felix waved off and climbed on top of him.

“I’m fine. Now, close your eyes and relax,” he instructed his boyfriend who figured that putting up a fight wasn’t an option. Not that he really wanted to fight him anyway. Felix was exceptionally good at giving massages. It was something he had always prided himself with.

“Damn, when was the last time you fully relaxed?” Felix questioned when he noticed how tense Changbin’s muscles felt.

“I don’t know, what year is it?” Changbin answered jokingly. “No, but seriously. I’m fine. Things are just a little stressful with graduation coming up,” he added. Felix pouted at his words. Changbin graduating a year ahead of him wasn’t something he liked to think about.

How was he going to survive an entire school year away from him?

“I can imagine...” he replied.

Changbin turned his head as far as he could with his boyfriend sitting on his lower back. “I know you’re sad about me leaving but we can still spend every break together if you want,” he told Felix like he’d read his mind.

That made the younger smile a little. “I’ll hold you to it,” Felix said.

“For now, let’s just enjoy this wedding. I also can’t wait to see Chanhee again. Jinwoo said she grew a lot since we last saw her,” Changbin switched subjects.

“He’s such a dad, can you believe it? I’m so emotional all of a sudden. I can’t believe our friend is getting married,” Felix rambled, pausing his massage to wipe some fake tears from his eyes.

Changbin chuckled fondly. “I know, it’s crazy...” he agreed. “But Jinwoo seems really happy.”

“Well, I’d be happy too if I got to marry the love of my life,” Felix said, his hands faltering a little in their massage when the weight of his words hit him. “U-um... I mean, hypothetically speaking, of course,” he stammered.

Changbin chuckled but Felix noticed his neck tinting the slightest bit pink at his words. “I know what you meant,” he assured him.

“Speaking of love of your life...” Felix trailed off. “Did you know that Josh’s crush got back together with his ex?” Felix suddenly switched topics to avoid things getting awkward. Luckily Changbin went along with it.

“He must be heartbroken,” he stated.

“Yeah, I feel pretty bad for him. I mean, I’m happy for Jongho, I guess. He practically came floating into the dorms the other night and that’s when he told me that he and Yeosang are back together. It just for Josh...”

“I’m sure he’ll find someone,” Changbin answered as Felix’ hands picked up their massage again.

“I hope so. I want him to be happy...”

Jisung raised an eyebrow when he and Renjun entered their assigned room to find two separate beds. “And here I thought I could cuddle you all weekend,” he said bitterly. Renjun laughed and reached out to take Jisung’s bag from him, putting it aside along with his own.

“Let’s just push them together,” he suggested.

“What if someone comes by and sees?” Jisung asked, looking in the direction of the door for emphasis.

Renjun shrugged nonchalantly. “Who cares at this point?”

Jisung couldn’t help but agree. They were surrounded by their friends outside of the gossip-loving castle. Besides, at this point Jisung really didn’t care who knew anymore. Not since he had become sure of his feelings for Renjun.

“Okay, let’s push them together,” he agreed. Jisung went over to the bed on the right side while Renjun took the one on the left. They pushed them until they met in the middle. Renjun smiled proudly and got onto the bed, taking the direct way over to Jisung.

“See,” he said, wrapping his arms around Jisung’s neck, “much better. And now you can follow through with the cuddling you mentioned.”

“I quite like the sound of that,” Jisung mumbled before kissing him and letting Renjun pull him onto the bed with him.

“Somehow I get the feeling that you’re even more nervous about this wedding than Jinwoo is,” Chan pointed out in an amused tone of voice, watching his boyfriend run around the ball room they had booked for the reception where he adjusted flowers and seating arrangements. “Babe, seriously slow down,” he said when Minho almost tripped over his own feet in his haste.

“Everything needs to be perfect, Channie! Jinwoo and Mina are relying on me!” Minho replied without looking up from his current flower bouquet.

“Everything is already perfect. You need to relax,” Chan told him with a fond chuckle. He gently took the flower bouquet from Minho’s hands and put his hands on his shoulders. “Look around. You arranged and managed all of this and it looks amazing. Give yourself a break,” Chan said.

Minho took a look around the decorated ball room. “It does look pretty good...” he admitted.

Chan laughed and pulled him into a hug. “Jinwoo and Mina are lucky to have a friend like you, babe. You really went all out,” he told him. “But now I’m taking you for a walk and some ice cream.” Minho looked like he wanted to protest but Chan took his hand and pulled him along.

“So, what do you think about Jeongin’s boyfriend?” Chan spoke up as they walked down the street, hands still intertwined.

“Sunwoo? He’s pretty okay. I can’t say I know him that well but Hyunjin always stood up for him amidst the rumors that were going around about him,” Minho answered.

Chan had heard several of those rumors about Sunwoo, the wildest one being about him pushing a girl down the stairs a few years back. He had never truly believed it, but had found himself steering clear of Sunwoo anyway, just in case. In hindsight, he couldn’t help but feel guilty about that now since, from what he had gathered, Sunwoo seemed to be really nice. Shy but nice.

“Well, if Jeongin’s dating him he must be a good guy,” he reasoned.

Minho chuckled. “I’m sure he is. They look so cute together. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jeongin this happy...”

“Sunwoo sure is doing something right, then,” Chan agreed.

They arrived at the ice cream parlor and sat down across from each other after getting their favorite flavors. “I’m so excited to hang out with the kids tomorrow. I’ve missed them...” Chan said with a small pout.

He missed Hogwarts in general, but his friends still being there played a huge part in that.

“Me too...” Minho replied. “Last year was so much fun before all the adulting started.”

Chan laughed and took Minho’s hand. “You’re really good at the adulting, though. You’re going to be a successful auror. I couldn’t be prouder of you.”

“Channie...” Minho trailed off, looking at him. Chan knew that Minho was worried about him suddenly wanting to change his profession. He had just been too unhappy as a Quidditch trainee, so he had been looking into teaching. However, it wasn’t all that easy, especially since he had no qualifications to teach at a muggle school. And he wasn’t sure if he wanted to teach in Hogwarts...

“Don’t worry about me, babe. It’s all going to work out just fine,” he assured Minho.

“I just want you to be happy...”

“I am happy,” Chan said. “I have you, don’t I?”

Minho smiled, his cheeks dusting a faint shade of pink. “You big sap...” he mumbled, suddenly shy. Chan laughed, delighted to make his boyfriend flustered.

“I love you~” he sing-songed.

Minho snorted. “Yeah, yeah...” he replied, however unable to hide a grin.

~

The next day was spent with the whole gang going out to a restaurant, Jinwoo’s treat. It felt good to be out with them again after not seeing them for so long. Jinwoo was also excited to see Jeongin so happy with his boyfriend. Sunwoo still seemed a little timid around everyone and Jinwoo noticed that he was very careful not to get too close to Chanhee who sat in a highchair next to Mina, but other than that he seemed to gradually warm up to everyone.

“So, tomorrow’s the big day, huh,” Jisung pointed out, grinning wide.

Jinwoo couldn’t help but smile, the prospect of getting married tomorrow was nerve-wracking but in the best way possible. He looked at Mina who was currently wiping baby food off Chanhee’s face.

“I can’t wait,” he said. Mina looked at him and smiled.

“Me neither,” she agreed. She wiped Chanhee’s mouth again before looking at the others. “What’s new in Hogwarts?”

“Hyunjin’s mom briefly graced us with her presence as a teacher,” Felix replied, making a face at the memory. Jinwoo looked at Hyunjin who also didn’t look too happy about it. He knew that he didn’t have the best relationship with his mother so he could imagine that it hadn’t gone too well.

“Yeah, she filled in for Flitwick, but she caused some trouble so...” Hyunjin trailed off, waving off.

“Are you okay?” Chan asked, obviously noticing Hyunjin’s dire mood.

“I’m fine. I’ll be spending this summer with Seungmin in LA,” he announced, face brightening up the slightest bit. Seungmin, too, perked up at his words.

“Kim Seungmin not using his precious summer vacation to study?” Jisung asked, looking at his best friend wide-eyed. “Unheard of!”

“Oh, I’m still going to study. It’s going to be our last year. I don’t want to be underprepared,” Seungmin told him. His face was so serious that Jinwoo couldn’t help but chuckle. As if Seungmin had ever been underprepared for anything.

“Any pregnancies?” Mina joked.

“Not since you two left us,” Changbin replied, making the rest of them laugh. He looked at Chanhee fondly. “She grew a lot since we last saw her,” he pointed out.

“I feel like she’s growing every day. Before we know it, she’ll leave for Hogwarts,” Mina agreed, gently her daughter’s soft fuzz of hair.

“Don’t remind me, I feel so old watching you two be parents,” Chan sniffed.

“Are you gonna cry again, babe. Chanhee is six months old, we still have a few years, you grandpa!” Minho , throwing his arm around Chan’s shoulders. “You guys should have seen him when Chanhee was born,” he told the rest of them.

Chan pouted at being exposed as Minho recounted the magical night of Park Chanhee’s birth. “And then they told him that he was going to be her godfather and he just–” He imitated Chan’s crying face, earning himself a half-assed slap on the arm from a mock-offended Chan.

“It was a very emotional night, okay?” he defended himself, albeit unable to hold back a chuckle.

“I bet you he’s going to cry first tomorrow,” Jisung said.

“Let’s face it, you’ll cry first,” Renjun said. Jinwoo watched them exchange a glance he couldn’t quite pinpoint but Jisung didn’t put up a fight. He was surprised to see how close they seemed since the last time he had seen them. Sure, they had always been friends but Jinwoo almost noticed a certain kind of... tension between them.

“Wanna bet on it?” Hyunjin asked.

“I bet Hyunjinnie cries first!” Felix announced with a teasing glint in his eyes, making the Slytherin pout.

They continued to bicker for a while and eventually Mina parted ways with them to drop Chanhee off at Jinwoo’s parents’ before heading to Sana’s place where they would have a calm version of a bachelorette party. Mina had told him that Sana had been bummed out after hearing that she wasn’t allowed to hire a stripper but eventually she had warmed up to the idea of mimosas and movies.

“Are we allowed to hire a stripper?” Jisung questioned once Mina and the baby were gone.

“Absolutely not!” Jinwoo protested. “Mina will kill me,” he said.

“Besides, most of you are still too young anyway,” Chan reasoned. “And hiring strippers is an overused cliché anyway.”

“I thought it would be nice to just catch up,” Jinwoo told them. He hoped that they hadn’t expected the littest party, but he was so glad to see them all again.

“I was kidding, Jinjin,” Jisung assured him. “Of course hanging out is fine. I don’t need strippers to have fun,” he said. He threw an inconspicuous glance towards Renjun who nudged him slightly. It seemed to go unnoticed by anyone else but Jinwoo smiled to himself. There was definitely something going on there.

~

The day of the wedding approached fast, and everyone got ready in their rooms. Jisung was trying to figure out his tie when his boyfriend came out of the bathroom. He laughed, earning himself a confused pout from Renjun.

“Come here, your shirt is buttoned all wrong,” Jisung said, waving the older over.

Renjun looked down at his shirt, huffing at himself. He did as he was told and walked over to Jisung who swiftly ed his shirt again to fix his mistake. He couldn’t hide a smirk, though, which, of course caught Renjun’s attention.

“What?” he asked.

“Nothing. Just enjoying the view,” Jisung answered with fake innocence. The necklace Jisung had gifted Renjun for Christmas hung around his neck, the wolf pendant resting on his sternum.

The older let out another huff, this one more exasperated. “Unbelievable. Just button up the shirt,” he scolded Jisung, albeit with a small chuckle. It wasn’t like he wasn’t used to Jisung’s flirty nature. Hell, he was the exact same sometimes.

“On it,” Jisung retorted, his smirk widening, “as long as I get to it again later.”

Renjun raised his eyebrow. “Maybe if you behave,” he answered, blushing the slightest bit. Jisung stopped buttoning his boyfriend’s shirt halfway and instead used the fabric to pull him closer and kiss him.

Renjun made a noise of surprise at the sudden gesture but kissed back immediately, wrapping his arms around his neck as Jisung’s s around the older’s waist. He pulled Renjun closer, their lips moving against each other, letting his hands come to a rest on the small of his back as Renjun’s slender fingers ran through his hair.

They didn’t even hear their door open (curse them for leaving it unlocked).

“Guys our ride’s here soo–” The two of them jumped apart at the sound of Felix’ enthusiastic voice. “Uh... oops? What’s going on here?” he questioned, his eyes wide as he took in the clearly unexpected picture.

Jisung scratched the back of his head awkwardly and Renjun covered his half-exposed chest, blushing hard.

“Well, I guess the cat’s out of the bag now, huh?” Jisung spoke up.

“What cat?” Felix questioned, looking from Jisung to Renjun and back. “Are you two a thing?” he asked disbelievingly.

“Yeah,” Jisung replied, figuring that there was no use in lying. Not that he wanted to.

Felix looked stunned at the revelation. “Wow, since when?”

Renjun and Jisung exchanged a look.

“Since September,” Jisung finally admitted.

“Excuse me what?”

Felix sounded a little pissed at the news which Renjun seemed to notice. He awkwardly pointed at the bathroom door and mumbled a “I’m just gonna go button up that shirt...” before leaving Jisung with Felix, who had crossed his arms over his chest and looked at Jisung expectantly.

“What?” Jisung questioned, not really seeing Felix’ problem here.

“What do you mean, what?! I can’t believe you didn’t tell me!” he exclaimed, throwing his hands up in exasperation.

Jisung rolled his eyes. “Are you serious? I didn’t tell anyone. And neither did Renjun.”

“Why not? You and Seungmin are my closest friends and I thought friends didn’t keep secrets from each other!”

Jisung’s jaw tightened a little. He really didn’t appreciate being guilt-tripped here. It wasn’t like he had kept the secret from Felix and Seungmin only.

“My relationship is hardly anybody’s business, thank you very much. Besides, we simply didn’t want people to know!”

“But we’re not people, we’re your friends,” Felix snapped, before reaching up to touch his own forehead as if suddenly realizing something. “God, I must have looked like a fool to you...”

“What the hell are you babbling about now?” Jisung asked, thoroughly confused.

Felix scoffed. “When Changbin and I were broken up and I came to cry with you because I thought you were single and heartbroken over Eunseo... you must have secretly laughed at me and my stupidity because you were dating Renjun all along!”

Jisung squinted his eyes at the bull he had just heard. Felix could not be serious right now. Did he really think so lowly of Jisung?

“You know, Felix, have you ever – just for a minute – stopped to think that not everything is about you?”

“That’s rich coming from you. I wasn’t the one whining about not being able to find true love while secretly hooking up with my dormmate!” Felix snapped.

“Seriously, you, dude! Renjun and I aren’t just hooking up. I’m in love with him, for ’s sake,” Jisung retorted, trying his best not to raise his voice.

“Then why keep it a secret if you’re so in love?”

Something inside Jisung snapped at Felix’ attitude. All the anger and resentment he had felt last year came crashing back. “You want to know why? Because with Eunseo I always felt like I wasn’t good enough! Aside from Eunseo herself, nobody thought I was good enough for her. Do you remember what you said to me when I first mentioned her to you? You told me she was out of my league! And you were by far not the only one. Some people didn’t even acknowledge the fact that we were dating! I didn’t want to be ing judged again and I’m going to tell you right now, the past few months with Renjun have been the best of my life. Because while we had our issues, we never had to deal with the whole castle talking about us!” Jisung explained, letting it all out.

He had never let his friends in on the hurt he had felt about being deemed not good enough for Eunseo. He hadn’t even told Renjun about how badly it had actually affected him, especially after their breakup. Sure, he was still on friendly terms with her, and he still respected her but the first few weeks after they had ended it, he had felt like .

“So, you just thought you’d completely shut your friends out?” Felix retorted stubbornly.

Jisung groaned in frustration. “You don’t get it, do you? We don’t owe anyone anything regarding this relationship. You know, Renjun could do so much better than me, he really could. But he’s here with me and he loves me and honestly, that’s more than enough for me. He makes me happy, so excuse me but I really don’t give a flying that you’re pissed about not being invited to the inner circle! Cry me a ing river, Felix!” he snapped.

He couldn’t believe that Felix was making such a big deal out of this.

“Whatever, do what you want!” With that Felix left the hotel room, slamming the door behind him.

Jisung flopped down on the bed, running a hand through his hair as he let the fight sink in. He was still shocked that Felix had reacted like that. How could he have been so selfish? With annoyance he noticed that he was tearing up, just as Renjun came out of the bathroom. He sat down next to Jisung, pulling him into his side.

“You know I heard all of that, right? I didn’t know you felt like that...” he spoke up.

“Like what?” Jisung asked.

“Like I could do better...” Renjun filled him in. Jisung lowered his head a little, wiping his eyes before looking at Renjun.

Look at yourself, babe. You could have anyone you want,” he admitted, as much as it pained him. Valentine’s day had been a pretty good example for his claim. He wasn’t jealous when other people approached Renjun, but it did make him realize that the older had options. Better options than him.

“I’m already with the only person I want though,” Renjun answered matter-of-factly.

“But why me?” Jisung asked him, wiping his eyes again.

“Because you’re so much greater than you make yourself out to be! And because I love you.”

Jisung rested his head on Renjun’s shoulder. “I love you too...” he replied, letting Renjun lace their fingers together as he let out another sniffle.

“Alright babe, you’re going to ruin your wedding makeup if you shed any more tears,” Renjun said, earning himself a little laugh from his boyfriend. Renjun stood up to crouch in front of him, looking at the potential damage and wiping his eyes gently.

“What should I do about Felix?” Jisung spoke up as Renjun started to reapply some of the makeup. A cute little wrinkle had formed between his eyebrows as he inspected Jisung’s face with high concentration.

“Felix will come around. Let him cool off for a bit and then talk to him when you’re both less upset,” the older said.

“And what about the rest of our friends?” Jisung questioned.

Renjun looked at him, admiring his handiwork before answering. “Well, we might as well tell them about us now. Which is good because I’ll finally get to kiss you in public,” he pointed out, managing to make Jisung smile.

“That sounds pretty good, to be honest. I just hope they’ll react better than Felix did...” he worried.

“They will. You know that Felix likes to get a little dramatic from time to time. I’m sure the others will be happy for us,” Renjun assured him before checking the time.

“We should probably get going. Felix did say something about our rides...” he added.

Jisung rose from his seat and Renjun gave him a once-over. “Your tie’s a mess,” he pointed out, already reaching out to fix it. They headed for the door once Renjun was done fixing Jisung’s tie but the younger held him back before they could leave the room, pulling him in to kiss him again.

“I love you, you know that?”

Renjun smiled at him, hands smoothing over his boyfriend’s suit again. “I know. I love you too,” he answered, kissing him once more before they finally left their hotel room together.

~

Jinwoo exhaled nervously, fidgeting with his suit and checking his appearance in the mirror. A knock sounded on the door and his mother peeked inside. She was wearing a mint green dress and her hair was tied in an elegant bun. She gasped in delight when she saw him.

“Look at my boy, you look so handsome,” she said, already tearing up.

Jinwoo laughed and put his hands on her shoulders. “Don’t cry, mom,” he told her fondly before hugging her. “Thanks for being so great about everything.”

“Please, Mina is a wonderful girl. Your father and I are so, so happy for you, my dear,” she answered, sniffling and carefully wiping her eyes as to not smudge her makeup.

“How is Chanhee?”

“She’s fine. She’s with your dad right now,” his mother assured him. Jinwoo nodded in acknowledgement, still b with excitement. He couldn’t believe today was finally the day he got to marry Mina in front of his friends and family.

“Any sign of Mina’s parents?”

His mother shook her head. Mina had decided to give her parents a chance to reconcile with her by inviting them to the wedding. She hadn’t been too hopeful about them showing up but Jinwoo had wished they would. Sure, he didn’t have the highest opinion of them after how they had treated her after finding out she was pregnant. But this was her big day. They should be here to celebrate it with her.

Another knock ripped Jinwoo from his thoughts. Chan came in, informing them that everything was ready, and they were good to begin.

“You nervous?” he asked Jinwoo, patting him on the shoulder.

“Nervous, excited, terrified... but most of all I’m just dying to marry her already,” Jinwoo told him.

Chan chuckled and gave him a hug. “I’m really happy for you, man. You deserve this so much,” he said, his tone genuine. If Jinwoo didn’t know any better, he would think they were set out to making him cry today.

“Thanks, Channie. You’ve done so much for my family. I couldn’t have picked a better best man,” Jinwoo answered. Chan had always been there for him since they had met in Hogwarts, later on that curtesy had extended to Mina, especially when she was facing so much heat after their little scandal last year. He knew that if something were to ever happen to him, Chan would step up and take care of his girls.

“Okay, let’s get this show on the road before I start bawling!” Chan said and led him outside.

The ceremony started.

Jinwoo saw his friends sitting in the first two rows, throwing him excited smiles, giving him thumbs up or inconspicuously wiping their eyes. He spotted Mina’s friends from Hogwarts and some of her relatives he’d met over this past year.

He waited patiently at the end of the aisle, shaking with nervousness until the music started and everyone turned around to lay eyes on the bride.

Jinwoo’s heart almost stopped when he saw her.

Mina was beautiful every day, in every state whether she was dressed up to the nines or lounging around in one of his shirts, covered in crumbs or baby puke.

But this woman currently walking down the aisle... this Mina just knocked the air out of his lungs. The upper lace-bodice part of the dress fit her body like a glove. From the waist down the dress fell in a long flowing skirt. She had decided against a veil, instead wearing her recently dyed-blonde hair in a high ponytail.

In short, Mina looked absolutely stunning.

The wizard officiating their marriage was a colleague of Jinwoo’s dad whom he had known since he was a little kid. He began the ceremony but Jinwoo was mainly focused on his beautiful bride, only listening to his words with half an ear.

Everything seemed to go by in such a blur, the vows, the exchange of rings until finally: “By the power infested in me by the Ministry of Magic, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!”

Jinwoo didn’t need to be told twice. He pulled Mina closer and cupped her face, kissing her. He distantly heard his friends hollering and he smiled into the kiss.

~

The reception kicked off in full swing and the happy couple had to sit through several rounds of congratulations from relatives and friends. Mina excused herself to check up on Chanhee who was with Chan and Minho for the time being. He watched his friends chat and eat. He saw his mother talking to Mina’s aunt.

Jinwoo looked around the venue, the gorgeous decorations Minho had worked so hard on, still unable to grasp the reality of the situation.

He was a married man.

Suddenly, Jinwoo’s eyes fell on a person currently entering the room and his eyes widened when he recognized the man. He had spotted Jinwoo as well and was now making his way over to him, a kind of sheepish expression on his face.

“Mr. Myoui. I wouldn’t have expected to see you here today,” Jinwoo said, not trying to hide his surprise and wariness towards Mina’s father.

“I know. I haven’t exactly been the most accepting person. But Mina is my daughter and I’m grateful to her that she decided to send an invitation. I have realized that this might be my only chance to set things right with her. And with you, Jinwoo.”

Jinwoo was more than surprised to hear that. Mina’s parents reaching out to her was one thing, but he wouldn’t have expected them to accept him.

“If you can keep the promise you made up there to treat my daughter right then I’m ready to accept you as my son-in-law,” Mr. Myoui said and extended his hand for Jinwoo to shake. He did, still stunned by this turn of events.

“Dad?” Mina who had come back over spoke up in surprise. “When did you come?”

“I was here for the ceremony, but I thought I should stay in the background. I didn’t want to throw you off,” he told her. “I’m really sorry for how I acted towards you all those months ago, Mina...”

She gave him a small smile and hugged him. “Thanks for coming here today, dad. It really means a lot to me.”

“I want to be a part of your life. I admit that I was disappointed when you told us that you were pregnant, but I think our reaction wasn’t justified...”

“What about mom...” she asked carefully, looking up at her father who looked at her with a regretful expression on his face.

“Unfortunately, your mother didn’t share my opinion. I’m sorry, Mina,” he apologized once more.

Mina made a face at his words, but the smile was back almost instantly. “Well, it would have surprised me even more if she had decided to come around. I’m just glad you’ve decided to come,” she said optimistically. Jinwoo put an arm around her shoulders and smiled reassuringly. “Now... would you like to meet your granddaughter?”

Mr. Myoui seemed taken aback for a second. His eyes widened and he looked around until his eyes fell onto Chan who was playing with Chanhee. “I would love to,” he said.

Mina waved Chan over, introducing him as Chanhee’s godfather. “And this is Chanhee. She turned six months old yesterday,” Mina said to her father, watching as Chan handed the baby over to Mr. Myoui who looked at her in awe.

“Chanhee, it’s your grandpa,” Jinwoo told his daughter who looked back at Mr. Myoui with wide eyes. Her hand reached out to grab his nose like she often did with Jinwoo or her uncle Chan. She laughed in delight and Jinwoo could already tell that she had Mr. Myoui wrapped around her little finger.

“She looks just like you, Mina,” he said.

“She does, doesn’t she,” Jinwoo agreed.

~

Jisung and Felix hadn’t spoken to each other the entire time throughout the ceremony. Felix didn’t seem to have told anybody else about him and Renjun which was at least something. That way they could do it themselves.

“Jisung,” a familiar voice spoke up when he fetched something to drink for himself and Renjun as they prepared to tell their friends about their relationship. Jisung turned around and promptly found himself facing Eunseo. “Hey,” she said, smiling at him.

“Hi,” he replied, surprised – although not negatively so – to see her here. He knew that she and Mina were friends, so it made sense but until now he hadn’t expected to run into her. She wore a navy-blue dress, and her hair was red now. He hadn’t seen her in months, but he hadn’t forgotten how pretty she was.

“How have you been?” she asked him.

“I’ve been pretty good,” he replied, smiling faintly as he looked over to where Renjun sat talking to Seungmin and Hyunjin. She followed his gaze and made an understanding noise. He blushed at being figured out so easily. “How about you? How’s auror training?”

She beamed. “It’s great. I mean, we have to do all the dirty work, but I know it’s going to pay off. And since Minho is a trainee too at least I get to work with friends,” she told him.

“That’s amazing. I’m happy for you,” he told her, and he meant it. Their break-up had but he had never really felt any resentment towards her per se. It had been the circumstances under which they had broken up that had bugged him. Towards the end of their relationship, they really had seemed more like friends who made out rather than an actual couple. Then there were his insecurities about not being good enough for her anyway. It hadn’t been her fault, so he was glad that they could talk like this without any awkwardness.

“Well, it seems like I have reason to congratulate you too,” she told him, grinning and nodding in Renjun’s direction. “Seriously, it’s good to see you happy and all.”

“You too,” he replied, grinning back.

“Don’t be a stranger okay? I have to get back to my date,” Eunseo said, quickly fetching two glasses and throwing him one last smile before taking off. Jisung made his way back to his table.

Hyunjin looked at him a small smirk on his face. “Was that Eunseo we just saw you with?” he asked.

Jisung chuckled and sat down, setting down the drinks. “Yes, but it’s not what you think. We just talked. We’re both here with other people, after all,” he said.

“I don’t think it counts as other people when you’re here with an entire group,” Seungmin pointed out teasingly but Jisung didn’t take it to heart. He exchanged a look with Renjun who nodded in acknowledgement.

“Actually,” Renjun now spoke up. “I’m his date.”

“And not just my friend-date like we said before on Halloween. We’re dating,” Jisung added.

Hyunjin’s mouth fell open at his words and he looked at Seungmin who regarded the two of them with a little grin.

“I thought I sensed something between you two,” Seungmin said. “It was always subtle, but it was there.”

“Wait, so... this has been going on for a while?” Hyunjin questioned. Contrary to Felix he didn’t seem mad, just surprised.

“Since the beginning of the school year actually. We’re sorry we kept it from you guys, but we just wanted to see where this leads first,” Jisung explained, anxiously hoping that they wouldn’t be offended about being left in the dark.

“And where did it lead?” Hyunjin questioned.

Jisung felt himself blush and threw a look at Renjun, thinking back to how easily he had yelled it at Felix. Now, with his two friends looking right at him, he felt a little shy about saying it. “Well... we’re in love...”

Seungmin laughed in disbelief. It wasn’t mocking in any way so Jisung relaxed a little. “So, when I asked you what happened to your crush on Renjun and you said it had been resolved...”

“I meant that I somehow managed to win him over,” Jisung admitted, taking his boyfriend’s hand.

“Actually, that’s not quite what happened. See, I had to seduce–” Jisung interrupted Renjun by quickly feeding him a piece of wedding cake, blushing harder at the prospect of almost being exposed.

Hyunjin still looked baffled. He looked from Jisung to Renjun and back to Jisung before suddenly gasping dramatically. “Was Jisung your mysterious crush? Oh my god, I can’t believe I didn’t see it!”

Renjun laughed at his friend. “I like to think I did a pretty good job at hiding it. Jisung didn’t see it either until I literally–”

“Will you stop trying to expose me!” Jisung complained, although not without having to laugh.

“I’ll give you the details later then,” Renjun promised his best friend. Jisung whined in complaint but Renjun only stuck his tongue out at him.

Hyunjin finally seemed to recover from his shock as he eyed the two of them. He leaned his elbows on the table and looked at Jisung pointedly. “Remember when I warned you about hurting him?” Jisung nodded. “The threat still stands.”

“Noted,” Jisung said.

“So what made you tell us now?” Seungmin asked them. Jisung thought back to his fight with Felix. His eyes searched for him and he spotted him talking to Chan. He made a sour face, still pissed off by how Felix had reacted earlier.

“We had a little situation earlier,” Renjun spoke up. He decided to fill them in on what had gone down between Felix and Jisung earlier while Jisung kept throwing glances at his friend. Seungmin shared Renjun’s opinion about Felix being overdramatic.

“He’ll probably come around,” he assured Jisung who only nodded, hoping that he was right. He hated fighting with his friends. Especially over something like this. He was happy with Renjun, he didn’t want to lose a friend because of that.

“I hope so. Anyway, this is a party! No more talking about this,” Jisung said, waving off. Maybe he would talk to Felix later. Or maybe he would let Felix come to him first.

Seungmin looked over to Felix as well before throwing Jisung a look. He thought Seungmin would encourage him to go over there right now but luckily, he didn’t.

“Either way, I’m happy for you two. I’ve been rooting for you for months so...” he said instead, grinning widely when both Renjun and Jisung blushed.

~

“Okay, may I have everyone’s attention please,” Chan said into the mic. He had gotten onto the small podium reserved for the band. “Hi, my name is Bang Chan and I’m Jinwoo’s best man. I’m supposed to give a speech but this whole day has been really emotional, so I apologize in advance if I start crying,” he joked, earning himself some laughs.

“I met Jinwoo and Mina when we were 11 years old, preparing for our first year at a new school. Back then, I was this scrawny kid who definitely would have gotten into trouble if it weren’t for Jinwoo. We pretty much became best friends right away and he’s had my back ever since. And vice versa. And Mina? You wouldn’t believe how many times she saved my when it came to our teachers. She covered for me so many times. She’s also the best partner in crime you could ask for. For a long time, I was the only person who knew Jinwoo and Mina were even together. Honestly, I would have expected it to happen way sooner with how Jinwoo was making heart eyes at Mina since our fourth year,” Chan said. A few people chuckled and Chan saw Minho patting Jinwoo on the shoulder teasingly.

“When I heard the two of them were going to have a baby, I knew that that little girl sitting over there right now would be so lucky. That she would grow up in a loving environment with the best parents one could ever ask for. And I was right. Despite the hardships they faced, Jinwoo and Mina pulled through and they’re doing their best to give Chanhee everything she so deserves. I could stand up here and tell you how much those two goofballs over there love each other but one look at them and Chanhee is enough to tell you everything you need to know. So here’s to Jinwoo and Mina. I love you both very much. I wish you a long, happy and fulfilled marriage. And you had better give me more godchildren!”

Chan stepped off the stage, proud of himself for not crying and was promptly pulled into a hug by the newlywed couple. Minho was next. The band started playing and Jinwoo and Mina excused themselves to dance.

“That was a great speech, Channie,” Minho praised him, taking his hand. Chan sniffled a little as he watched his friends on the dancefloor. Minho chuckled fondly. “You’re so cute,” he said.

“Am not,” Chan protested half-heartedly.

“Whatever you say,” Minho replied, grinning like a cat. “Wanna dance?”

Chan nodded and let Minho lead him onto the dancefloor. “You did great with this place. I know I said it already but seeing it all in action is different,” he told his boyfriend who smiled brightly at the praise.

“Thanks, Channie. I had fun doing it even with work and everything. I hope Seungmin and Hyunjin get married soon so I can plan their wedding too,” he said enthusiastically, making Chan laugh. He brushed some stray bangs off his forehead.

“Let’s let them graduate first,” Chan said looking over to his friends. Seungmin and Hyunjin, sweet as ever, were dancing and entirely wrapped up in their own world. Interestingly enough, Chan also spotted Jisung dancing with Renjun. He had already gathered that the two of them had gotten rather close this year but judging by the way they were looking at each other, there seemed to be more.

His suspicion was confirmed when Jisung kissed Renjun mid-dance. He smiled to himself and focused back on Minho. “What if we got married? Would you organize that wedding too?” he asked Minho whose eyes widened in surprise.

“U-um... would that be something you’d want? Get married I mean?” he asked. Chan shrugged, still smiling.

“Maybe. I love you, Min. Whether you’re my husband or not doesn’t make a big difference but I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about it before,” he said honestly.

Minho pulled him a little closer. “I’ve thought about it too,” he admitted. “Which is weird because before you and I started dating I never would have thought I’d settle down at all and now I’m living with my boyfriend and my cat, earning a steady wage...”

“I told you you’re good at adulting,” Chan joked, kissing his cheek. “Maybe if I find a good job I can start saving up for a pretty ring,” he said.

Minho laughed. “I don’t need a pretty ring, you fool. I’d say yes even if you proposed to me with a plastic ring.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

~

“Jisung?”

Jisung averted his gaze from his boyfriend, whom he was still dancing with, to look at a sheepish Felix.

“Felix.”

“Can we talk for a second?” Felix questioned. Jisung almost said something petty when he thought back to how their last conversation went but Renjun nudged him. He gave Jisung a pointed look before pulling away and heading back to their table.

Jisung sighed and crossed his arms over his chest before facing Felix. “I just wanted to apologize to you for earlier,” Felix said, looking down at his feet. Jisung already felt his resolve crumbling. He had never been particularly good at staying mad at his friends. “I realize that I overreacted. I don’t even know why I acted like that.”

“It’s okay, Lix...”

“No, it’s really not. You were right. You don’t owe me an explanation about who you date. And especially not when I was such an to you about it before. I didn’t realize how douchey it was of me to tell you Eunseo was out of your league until you told me about it earlier. I’m really sorry for that.”

“Well...” Jisung trailed off, not really knowing what to say to that. He appreciated Felix apologizing for that part too. “Thanks for... you know, saying that. I know you didn’t mean any harm back then. I just took it to heart...”

Felix nodded in understanding. “I shouldn’t have said it...”

“It’s really okay, Felix. You’re forgiven,” Jisung told him, opening his arms for Felix to give him a hug which he gladly did.

“So, you’re in love, huh?” his friend said teasingly after a few minutes. Jisung smacked his back playfully before pulling out of the hug.

“I am...” he admitted.

“I can’t believe you two managed to hide it for so long,” Felix said, chuckling. Jisung thought back to the Halloween party and the Valentine’s dance. At a certain point their friends should have caught on as they were really kind of out in the open the entire time. “Really nobody knew?”

“Well, Eric put the pieces together not too long ago. And I’m sure Bae Jinyoung saw us once... but other than that...” Jisung trailed off. “But we’ve decided not to care anymore. I’m still a little nervous about the whole school knowing soon but at the same time I’ve been itching to be open about it for a while now,” he said.

“I’m glad to hear that. You two make a pretty couple,” Felix said sincerely, patting him on the shoulder once before heading back to where Changbin waited for him.

Jisung chuckled fondly at the couple, glad that things had been resolved between him and Felix. He looked around. Jinwoo and Mina were still dancing, the bride lighting up the room with both her dress and her happy smile. Chan and Minho had taken to the wedding cake again. Seungmin and Hyunjin were currently sneaking out of the room. Jisung raised an eyebrow at that shaking his head and laughing to himself.

Eric was dancing with a boy Jisung didn’t know. And Jeongin and Sunwoo had joined Renjun at the table now that Seungmin and Hyunjin were otherwise occupied.

“Hey you guys, enjoying the party?” Jisung asked them when he flopped down next to his boyfriend. Sunwoo pouted at his words.

“I dropped my slice of wedding cake,” he said.

“But other than that, yeah, we’re having quite some fun,” Jeongin spoke up, patting Sunwoo’s head in consolation. “Sunwoo’s a great dancer.”

Sunwoo blushed at Jeongin’s straight-forward praise. “It’s scary with so many people around,” he mumbled. Jisung furrowed his brows at his words. He didn’t quite get Sunwoo sometimes but Jeongin seemed to know what he was talking about. He took his hand and squeezed it, giving him a reassuring look.

“Everything’s fine. Aside from the cake nothing has happened,” he said further confusing Jisung and Renjun. “Come on, one more dance?” he asked.

Sunwoo contemplated it for a moment. “Okay,” he finally said, making Jeongin beam.

“Excuse us,” the youngest chirped and pulled Sunwoo to his feet. Jisung looked after them fondly, resting his head on Renjun’s shoulder.

“They’re so cute,” Renjun pointed out, watching as Jeongin playfully spun Sunwoo around making the older stumble a little. “Ah, weddings always get to me,” he added, pressing a hand on his heart and sniffling dramatically.

Jisung chuckled fondly, lifting up his head to kiss his boyfriend’s cheek. He was thrilled that he could finally do this in public, and yes, maybe weddings got to him too because he suddenly got up and held out his hand.

“Wanna dance some more?” he asked. Renjun smiled brightly and nodded, following him back onto the dancefloor.

~

“So, how does it feel?” Hyunjin asked Jinwoo a while later, inspecting the wedding band on his finger. Jinwoo was still smiling as Hyunjin felt he had since spotting Mina walking down the aisle. Unsurprisingly, Hyunjin had lost their little bet about who would end up crying first. He hadn’t been to many weddings in his life and seeing two of his closest friends getting married just got the waterworks going.

“I’m not really sure,” Jinwoo told him honestly. “It feels so different but also so familiar? It doesn’t really make sense...”

“I think I get it. You two have been kind of like a married couple already. But now you have a certificate to make it official,” Hyunjin said, grinning widely. “My friend Park Jinwoo, husband and father.”

“Sounds pretty good to me,” Jinwoo answered his smile brightening impossibly. Hyunjin chuckled at his friends’ happiness.

“Hey, um... speaking of parents. Is everything okay with you and your mom?” he asked, suddenly growing a little more serious.

“It’s nothing. I don’t want to ruin your wedding day with my problems,” Hyunjin waved off.

“Come on, you can tell me...” Jinwoo encouraged him.

“Alright,” Hyunjin sighed. If he was honest he would love to tell someone about everything. And Jinwoo had always been a great listener. “So my mom came to teach at Hogwarts last month. She filled in as a Charms teacher for Flitwick. I already dreaded that part because despite Seungmin helping me I still at Charms. Well, what I didn’t know was that she was being really unfair towards Seungmin.”

“Unfair how?” Jinwoo asked, looking alarmed.

“She kept deducting points from his house for minor things and criticized him for the smallest mistakes during class. I know that she wanted me to stop seeing him, but I didn’t know she would go that far. At first Seungmin didn’t even tell me about it...” Hyunjin said.

“Sounds intense...” Jinwoo commented and Hyunjin only nodded.

“On my birthday she suddenly handed me this old letter from my father which, like, really surprised me...” Hyunjin continued.

“Your father? Just like that? Out of the blue?”

Hyunjin nodded, the address his father had given him burnt into his brain. It wasn’t too far from this very venue. 10 minutes by car. Not that Hyunjin had checked.

“Seungmin confronted her about it and she yelled at him, calling him a... you know...” Jinwoo’s eyes widened in understanding. “I stood up for him because I’d had enough. She smacked me and then I ended up reporting her to the headmaster which resulted in her getting fired. In return she told me I shouldn’t bother coming home this summer, so I figured I’d move out completely. Seungmin and I went to get my stuff when we arrived here...” Hyunjin finished his story.

“Oh, Hyunjin...” Jinwoo said, pulling his friend into a hug. “Do you need anything?”

Hyunjin shook his head as best as he could while he was still being embraced. “No, but thanks, Jinwoo...”

“If you do end up needing something you come to me, okay?” Jinwoo told him, pulling out of the hug to give Hyunjin a pointed look, showing him that he really meant it.

“I will,” Hyunjin promised, smiling faintly at his friend. He had really missed talking to him on a regular basis. Sure, he still occasionally wrote him letters, but it just wasn’t the same as a good heart-to-heart. Hopefully, they would see each other more often once Hyunjin had graduated. Maybe he and Seungmin would move to London as well...

“Jinwoo!” Mina called. “Your parents said they had an announcement.”

Jinwoo looked at Hyunjin again as if to ask him if he was okay. Hyunjin chuckled and nodded, motioning for Jinwoo to go. He followed him back into the ballroom and found Seungmin, getting ready to listen to Jinwoo’s parents’ speech.

~

“Alright, so we figured we would go ahead and tell the happy couple what we got them as a wedding gift,” Mrs. Park spoke into the microphone. She had an arm wrapped around her husband’s waist while he had one wrapped around her shoulders.

Jinwoo shared a surprised look with Mina at their words. They had told Jinwoo’s parents that they were by no means obligated to give them anything since they let them stay with them while refusing to take any kind of rent. They had been so supportive and helpful, especially after Chanhee was born. Jinwoo and Mina didn’t want them to spend money on a silly gift.

“Yes, so as some of you know the two of them and their adorable baby daughter Chanhee have been living with us for almost a year now. We got to know Mina and we certainly do love her like she’s our own. She fit into this family right away. Our son couldn’t have found a smarter, kinder and of course more beautiful bride. We love having them and the baby around,” Jinwoo’s father now spoke up.

“We do remember how important it is for newlyweds to spend time alone though. To get used to being a family without having your old parents around.” The crowd chuckled at Mrs. Park’s joking words. Jinwoo couldn’t hide a smile himself. His parents had always given them privacy and they had even taken care of Chanhee to grant the couple some well-needed sleep. However, he couldn’t deny that their little house got a bit crowded sometimes.

“So, we took it upon ourselves – with the generous help of some of our dear relatives,” Jinwoo’s father trailed off and reached into his pocket, pulling out a set of keys, “to get them a little apartment. It’s not too far from our house so we can still babysit. The rent has been paid in advance for six months.”

Mina gasped in surprise and Jinwoo felt his own jaw drop to the floor. Stunned, they got up on stage to hug Jinwoo’s parents who were visibly proud of themselves for managing to surprise them so well.

Jinwoo could hardly believe it. His parents... he really didn’t deserve them. He hugged his wife, overjoyed at the thought of starting this new chapter with her and Chanhee.

“I love you,” he mumbled into her hair, still hugging her.

“I love you too, Jinjin,” she answered, her voice thick with unshed tears.

Mr. and Mrs. Park Jinwoo, he thought giddily, he could really get used to the sound of that.
