“We’re in the basement Kibum. Where else could we be? We fell longer than last time, the ride was rougher, and we have no service, the only thing we can see out that door is cement. We must be stuck between the ground floor and the basement level – which could be a really long distance, meaning they won’t be able to open a door and see us.” I sat there, taking in everything he said, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t process it.

“What?” I breathed looking at the ground between my legs.

“It’ll be okay, they’ll figure something out – I’m sure they Yeong-Ji will have a better team come in and fix this whole mess.” I chuckled involuntarily, I’m sure he’s right.

“They’re probably having a heart attack; we can’t even call and let them know we’re not dead.” I stopped breathing all together, slowly I turned my head to look at Jjong, an expression of realization washed over his face.

“Wait a second…”

“Jjong, does this mean – hypothetically – we’re dead?” I hesitated for a moment, and then nodded.

“I guess so.” That was the last straw – I snapped. I bawled, right there, no warning, nothing, the tears just exploded out of my eyes like a fountain, I sat there choking on sobs, and fighting to breathe between loud whines. Jonghyun didn’t approach me – not that I blamed him, I’m usually not like this, I’m sure he was just scared.

“J-Jonghyun I-I don’t wan-na be d-dead!” I cried out, finally able to speak.

“We’re not dead Kibum,” he said softly, I sniffed and wiped furiously at my eyes, the tears were drying up – my outburst coming to a close. I looked over at him and sniffed again.

“B-but they don’t know we’re alive! What if we die before they can get us out?” I asked, my voice breaking here and there.

“We will be fine.” I shook my head, I couldn’t cope with this right now – just wasn’t becoming any more rational to me. He sighed, I looked up and saw an expression of longing and worried over his features.

“No matter what happens, I promise I’ll get you out – even if that means I don’t.” I in a breath, and stared at him, mouth open.

“J-Jonghyun! Don’t say that! You’d be coming with me, or I’d stay along with you.” I said sternly. His expression didn’t change.

“I promise.” He said again. I felt tears sting my eyes again; I shook my head, holding them back.

“Don’t say that, we’ll be okay,” I said, trying to convince us both.

I got onto my knees and started to crawl over to him. He had one knee bent, and one laying flat on the floor. I crawling over top of the flat one, bring my face closer to his.

“Don’t say that.” I whispered again.

He bent his knee, hitting my , pushing me forward slightly. I fell into his chest, gripping his shirt, I breathed in his sent – it somehow managed to calm me down a bit. I more or less straddled him, burying my face into his shirt.

“We’ll be okay, right?” I stated, though asking just to be sure, I started to tear up again. He hugged me, one hand around my waist, one higher up rubbing my back in small circles. I choked out a sob, the dam breaking again – I was going to soak his shirt. He didn’t push me away; he only shifted a bit so I was more comfortably laying on him. I moved my head up to his shoulder hiding my face into his neck, wrapping my arms around his neck. He squeezed me tighter, I checked out a cough again.

“We’ll be fine.” He whispered.
