Sweet CharmNothing could beat the best feeling of staying home on a weekend. If Jiho loved something more than anything side from Lyrical dance, it would be sleeping in late and being home. Sometimes, she would go out for some fresh air but it wouldn't be until night time. For some odd reason she felt better being a night owl taking a stroll.
Jiho sat on the sofa hugging a square throw pillow to her chest, still in her comfy clothes with her hair in a messy bun. Nothing could take her away from having a date with the TV and munching on snacks.
Her parents always left on the weekends to visit her grandparents on her mother's side. In the beginning, Jiho accompanied them but she would hear whispers from her own grandparents about her situation and felt like a disappointment to them.
Even though she confronted her parents and her grandparents about the truth, in a way, her grandparents didn't believe her. They doubted her.
That's what broke Jiho's heart most.
So now, her parents make up an excuse as to why Jiho never visits. It wasn't because she didn't love them any less, she couldn't face them after what she heard. No matter what she did to turn things around or to tell the truth. It didn't matter.
Jiho sighed feeling a bit of boredom settling in as she stared at the TV but wasn't paying attention to it. She flipped through the channels but nothing caught her attention either. She heard a beep coming from her phone and when she looked down, she widen her eyes at the name that flashed on her screen.
Minhyuk.
She grabbed her phone sliding it open and saw the message.
Minhyuk:
Are you free?
Jiho knitted her eyebrows together before responding back.
Why?
A beep came back in within the second.
Minhyuk:
If you don't, come meet me.
He sent another message with an address.
What makes him think I'll go and meet him?
Jiho rolled her eyes ignoring the message with the address. She put her phone back on her side and got up from the sofa, going to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She heard her phone go off again and again and again.
She snarled with her upper lip wondering why was he being so persistent. She never thought he would be the type. Then again, she started to realize the guy she had a crush on is nothing to what she imagined. It surprised her in many ways and one was making her heart do flips with butterflies in her stomach.
At first, she thought it was only because he was giving her attention and claims he wants to be friends. But if anything, Jiho had to be careful with what he did and not let her guard down. She already hurt herself because of her mistake and she hurt others in the process. She didn't want a repeat.
Once was a enough.
Jiho went to the sofa picking up her phone and read the messages.
Minhyuk:
Come on, I bet your not doing anything.
Meet me or else I post this online.
He attached a video at the bottom of the last message. Jiho tapped play on the video and she couldn't believe it.
HE RECORDED ME!
She was watching herself from the back as she did the Barrel and then the Butterfly. She felt her heart racing with anxious and decided to call him.
He answered on the second ring. "Mission accomplished."
"Excuse me?" Jiho placed her free hand on her hip trying to understand what he meant by that.
He chuckled into the call. "I had to get your attention somehow right?"
Jiho rolled her eyes. "Delete the video."
Minhyuk hummed for a moment and chuckled again. "Only if you come out a play."
"We are not ten years old Minhyuk!" Jiho raised her voice knowing she was going to lose her temper. If she ever saw him, she would delete the video herself.
"Meet me at the address and I'll delete it." Even though she couldn't see it, he was biting bottom lip as he smiled. He was at the place already. He had woken up at his regular time, had breakfast with his parents and younger brother. As he ate his food, he didn't realize he was smiling until he mother took note and asked him.
He laughed nervously not saying anything.
That's when his younger brother, made a comment that it could be a girl.
Minhyuk felt his cheeks on fire, avoiding eye contact with his parents and brother at the table. He felt his heart already racing at the speed of light. He couldn't believe the thought of Jiho made him react this way. He quickly finished his meal and left to wash up to head out.
He told his parents he would be out with the boys, but no one bought it. It had to be a girl. If he ever brought Jiho home, his mother would get ideas of them dating and plan a wedding. It was nothing like that when he thought of Jiho that way.
Minhyuk just wanted to be friends with her but sometimes when she was being cute without realizing it, he couldn't help but want more. Maybe it was too soon to even think about that. But anything is possible.
Forgetting he had Jiho on the other line, he heard her sigh and gave in. "Fine. I'll go."
He hung up the call with a bright smile on his face.
He chuckled to himself. He couldn't believe he was winning with her. He wasn't sure how but part of it had to do with the video. Truthfully, he doesn't like blackmailing. He likes to tease and joke. But with Jiho it was different.
He felt his heart doing all kinds of flips.
Just like the ones in the video that Jiho did.
Something spectacular.
It was a good feeling.
Usually on the weekends, he spends time with the boys and they all kinds of things. Go shopping, play games on the computer, arcade inside the mall, eat and karaoke. Minhyuk loved the weekends because he enjoyed his time with his friends who were like brothers that he gained. But this time, one day not being with them wouldn't hurt. He wanted to build a friendship with Jiho and spend as much as he could today.
That's his agenda.
- - -
Jiho sighed consistently.
She would look out the window from the bus that she took to meet Minhyuk. She couldn't believe he recorded her dancing. It wasn't embarrassing or anything, she just didn't realize how she missed it. She had been engrossed with her dancing, she never looked to the side where the closed door stood.
When she ended the call, she took a quick rinse and looked for an outfit. She didn't know why she changed her outfit more than twice. It wasn't a date or anything. He was just asking her to come out and hangout.
She wasn't why she blushed or felt nervous.
Jiho didn't want to have false hopes.
The bus finally came to a stop and she got off. She followed the map on her phone and walked a few blocks down. She saw a familiar figure standing outside a building with his natural brown hair. As she took a step closer she realized he wasn't that dressed up.
He was casual, like her.
Minhyuk wore a white sweater over his black shirt he had on. His pants were also black with a few ripped holes on his knee with matching black books. She noticed the different piercings' on his ears and the necklace that hung around his neck.
A few girls were passing by and when they saw Minhyuk, they whispered to each other giggling as if they saw a celebrity.
Jiho in her bottom lip.
Her heart did a flip making her nervous just standing a few feet away from him.
Just him just standing there waiting for her, she felt like the luckiest girl in that moment. She wouldn't trade it for anything else. She took in a deep breath before striding over and held out her hand to him. "Give me your phone."
Minhyuk got startled to her sudden outburst but he only smiled seeing her finally arrive. "Nice to see you too."
Jiho rolled her eyes. "Phone. Now."
Minhyuk crossed his arms and shook his head. "No."
Jiho gawked at him. "What?"
"Here's the deal." He uncrossed his arms and stuffed his hands into his pockets. He saw the way she was dressed and couldn't help but smile again. Like always, his heart didn't fail to skip a beat and pump irregular before going back to normal pace. He stared at her attire and softened.
She dressed casual, I like it.
Jiho had finally picked out a simple outfit. She wasn't going to impress Minhyuk. Despite the fact he is her crush it didn't matter. Crushes come and go. It was probably going to fade away but it's been months, how do crushes fade away?
Minhyuk stared at her rose pink shirt that Jiho had on noticing it was tucked inside her faded light blue denim shorts that hugged her waist; showing her slender legs with white Adidas. She held onto the strap of her purse that was pastel pink that hung on her side.
He cleared his throat going back to focusing on his deal. He smirked knowing Jiho wouldn't like it but he couldn't help . "You spend the day with me and I'll delete the video."
Jiho glared at him for a second before turning the side avoiding his eye contact.
This is crazy!
Why should I do his request?
It's ridiculous.
"Hey, I promise to keep my words. At the end of the night, you can have my phone and delete it yourself." Minhyuk waved his phone into her face.
Acting quickly, Jiho tried to reach for it but Minhyuk was fast enough to raise his arm in the air with his phone in his hand. Jiho moved closer to him jumping in her place to reach for the phone. She grunted a few times knowing she failed and finally stopped. She panted giving him the same glare and rolled her eyes.
Fine.
He wins!
Jiho closed her eyes trying to calm herself before she spoke. "Alright."
Minhyuk grinned putting his phone away and grabbed her wrist pulling her inside the building they were standing in front of. Thankfully they had been lost in their conversation, Jiho never asked where they were or what the place was. She stayed quiet letting Minhyuk pull her inside the fresh cool air and heard laughter fill her ears.
"Have you been to a Trampoline Park before?" He asked turning back to her. She shook her head before she let her eyes wonder to the open area. There were plenty of squares to fit two or three birthday parties.
Jiho had never been to this place. She didn't know it even existed. She saw kids jumping up and down on the black surface having the time of their childhood life. She turned to the right and saw a few boys who seemed to be in high school sharing at least three squares doing all kinds of flips and hollering.
Before she knew it, a smile formed on her face.
This does look like fun.
Minhyuk let go of her wrist for the moment to pay for the admission. He went back to Jiho, who was stunned at the sight she never knew. It was different.
Never in his life has Minhyuk done something like this. He has been here before with the guys but they each take turns on paying for admission. This time, he came with a girl. A girl who looked like a cute cat.
A girl who seemed to be misunderstood.
A girl who seemed to be capturing his heart piece by piece.
He shook his own thoughts away and nudged Jiho in the arm. She turned to him still smiling, which only made him smile as well. "The lockers are over here. We can put our things inside."
Jiho nodded following him. She saw a few girls giggle like always when they saw someone as attractive as Minhyuk. She cleared looking away and went next to him. "So you asked me to come out and play when you have your own friends?"
Minhyuk sneered at her comment when he came to stop at the lockers. He found one with a key still attached and pulled it out.
