“Oh oppa!” Bogum heard and saw both Eunkyung and the woman stared at him.

“Eunkyun~ah” Bogum said going to her and touching her shoulder

“Hello” Irene said bowing

“Are you her guardian?” 

Bogum just nodded 

“What happened to her?” Bogum said looking at Eunkyung and Irene 

“She injured her head by accident but don’t worry the doctor said she’s already fin she just need to take a rest. Ah and also-“ Irene grabbed something at the table and handed it to Bogum

“Here. I bought some medicines make sure to give it to her after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Don’t also worry about her school I will handle it. I’ll go now then.” Irene said smiling and grabbed her bag

“Can I call you Unnie, teacher?” 

Irene turned around and looked at Eunkyung

“Of course, here this is my number call me anytime, okay. Hope you recover well and see you in school” Irene said smiling while handling her phone number

“De!” 

“Then I’ll go now.” Irene said bowing last time and took off. She was about to walk after closing the door behind her when a hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her to the corner. She looked to see the man she saw earlier.

“Did something happened?” Irene said. Bogum let go of her wrist and looked at her straight in the eyes. “At some point he/she looks familiar” they both thought

 “How much money I owe you?” Bogum said

“What? You don’t need to pay the medicine-” Irene said looking confused but suddenly cut off

“I’m not talking about the medicines. Supposed you already know her and her background. How much money do I need to give you to shut up and keep her info private cause for I know people like you will tell the press and make money out of it, at the point the child would suffer and you don’t want that do you. So how much do you need 10 000 won?  100 000 won? 5 million won?”

Irene looked at him as if he was a crazy person

“Wow, unbelievable. After saving a child and staying all night with her this is what I get!?” 

“Why do you want me to increase it plus the food you ate while taking care if her, the medicines, and staying with her all night. Isn’t it the reason why you gave her your number so that they can repay you a huge amount and have fame so I’m dealing with it now. Low people like you should know. Give me a price and I will repay you.” Bogum said pulling out his check in his pocket

Irene was furious and totally lost it

“You really got to be kidding me! Even she’s the daughter of Kim’s corporation or the niece of the president I don’t care. Why would I brag it to anyone?! I don’t do stuff like what your thinking. I do legal jobs! To be honest with you a simple thank you would be enough yet I guess people born with a golden spoon on their mouth think speak differently.”

Bogum closed his check book

“Your a faking innocent are you, You don’t watch news do you, because you would regret saying those words when you knew me” Bogum said pointing at himself

“That is the reason why I don’t read or watch news and good thing I did. Look, I don’t care who you are and where you came from. And most of all I’m not even a little bit interested in your money so keep it. Tsk, Forget it people like you wouldn’t understand no matter how much I explained it.” Irene said pushing him and started walking away.

 

Bogum looked at her back walking away, this is the first time someone treated him like that after a long time. Bohum shaked his head at the thought. He entered the room to see Eunkyung eating the oranges that girl pilled. He then sat down at the chair near her bed.

“Eunkyung~ah are you okay” Bogum asked worried

“Yes, I’m fine actually a lot better thank to Unnie.”

“Unnie? That woman that stayed with you?”

“Mmmm...”

“Do you know her name?”

“I think it’s Irene Unnie”

“Irene?”

Eunhyuk just nodded suddenly a doctor came

“Oh Dr. Park it’s been a long time” the doctor said bowing as soon as he saw Bogum. Bogum also stand up and bowed

“It is Dr. Oh”

“I see the patient is already a wake. We will take her for an MRI scan please wait here.” He said after checking Eunkyung and transferring her to another bed.

“Ah by the way you owe the life of this girl to the young woman here yesterday.” Dr. Oh said looking at Bogum

“Yes?”

“Without her this girl could be in a dangerous state, then” He then walked  out of the door.

Bogum just sighed

“That guy is really full of himself does he really think everything can buy by money, aish, YOU PUNK AH!” Irene said looking back at the hospital while kicking the air here and there. 

It did not took a while when she bump into an old couple

“Oh, I’m Sorry.. I’m Sorry” she said bowing

“It’s okay.” The old lady said. Irene lift her head and went eye to eye with the old lady for a while

“Uhm. I’m really sorry. I better go now” Irene bowed again and went her own way.

The old couple was about to enter the hospital when the old lady stopped and remember seeing a familiar necklace hanging on the woman’s neck. She turned around but the girl was gone.

“Hon is anything wrong?” Her husband said

“No.. Let’s go” she said shrugging of the thought

They arrive at a room

“Bogum,” they called out

“Eomoni, abeoji”

“Where’s Eunkyung?” Eunkyung father said

“She’s at the MRI for a quick check up, the doctor said she would be fine so there’s nothing to worry about.”

“Thanks goodness” Eunkyung’s mother sighed in relief

“I’m sorry for calling you Bogum~ah”

“Not at all Eomoni” Bogum said shaking his head

“Where’s the woman that brought her.”

“She seems tired so I send her off.”

“Really?” Her father said

Bogum just nodded

“Bogum did you went to Yoojung?” 

“Yes”

“Stop visiting her Bogum.. It’s been 2 years.. We want you to forget about Yoojung. If you continue visiting her that guilt and grudges that you hold all these years will not go away and we don’t want that..We want you to have a fresh start” Eunkyung’ father explained

“I also want to abeoji but it’s hard. Yoojung is a kind of a person that you wouldn’t forget that easily.” Bogum said with his head hang low

“Bogum loosing already 2 of my daughters is hard for me and it’s hard to forget especially if you lose the other at a short period of time. I’m telling you this so that you wouldn’t miss or regret anything.” Eunhyuk’s mother said patting his shoulder.

Irene was almost at her house when her phone rang

“Hello, oh eomma... why did you call?... of course I missed you, appa too... How’s business there... that’s good to hear then.... everything is okay here... I will visit soon it’s just I have full schedule today...okay, bye.. Saranghae” She ended the call with a smile.

After she hanged up she decided not to go home and let her feet take her anywhere. After a while of walking she ended up staring at a big house.

“Why am I here” Irene asked herself she was about to go when the gate at the big house opened. She looked inside and was really beautiful but that moment was short when she heard a honk. She looked to the road and saw a car. Irene bowed and turned around ready to walk when somebody stopped her.

“Wait.” Irene turned a round and widen her eyes to see the young guy who offered her money.

“You... YOu.. YOU! Are you following me here. Yah! Are you a stalker.” Irene said pointing at him. Bogum went closer to her and Irene lean back

“Huh, you wish”

“The..then are you here to offer money to me again. I though I said to you clearly that I’m not accepting your damn money!” Irene said  straightening her back and put her hands on her side.

“Besides having a big mouth, you also think too much. You got the wrong idea.. This is my house, I was about to ask you what are you doing here... Perhaps do you know me now and asking for forgiveness.” Irene was taken aback not because the house she went to is his but at the thought she’s going to say sorry for his rude actions.

“You are crazy.... I think you also got the wrong idea... First of all I was just passing by and I don’t even know who’s this house is... What ask for forgiveness? Just dream about it.” Irene said stomping away

“Master are going inside” Bogum’s driver said

“Does everyone just walked a way like they want too.. That girl has no manners for sure... I will stroll around since it’s been a while.. Mr. Yang after you parked the car you can go.” Bogum said and started walking.

After her encounter with Bogum, Irene ended up being lost after walking fast and without realizing the time it became dark. Unfortunately for her, her phone died down earlier so she can’t contact anyone and there’s no store near.

“Is my day won’t get any better!” She said frustrated. 

“Look what we have here.. Hi miss!” Irene looked up to see 3 guys hands on there pocket. Irene was so happy to see them that she didn’t have time to think anything.

“Oh Annyeonghaseyo. Uhm Ahjussi can I borrow your phone for a second. You see my phone was dead and I need to contact someone.” Irene said with a pleading eyes. Before she knew it one of the old guys went up to her and put his hands on her waist. Irene grabbed his hands “Ahjussi what are you doing... You better let go! I respect old people you know but if your being like this I would not have a second thought fighting you.” Irene said having a lot of force in removing his hands from her waist. 

“Yah! Help me with this girl.. She can be a use!” The Ahjussi that holding Irene said. The two Ahjussi smiled but before they get any closer Irene step on the old man’s foot letting him to let go.

“Told you, you didn’t listen to my warning!” 

“Get her.” Irene fought them good but they have a strong stamina. When they realize she’s tired. Two Ahjussi grabbed each one of her arm and the Ahjussi who held her waist slapped her hard on the face leaving a bruise on her right cheek. 

“If your only a good girl, we wouldn’t have done this.” When he was about to get closer

“Let her go!” a man shouted from behind they all turned around to see a young handsome man. Irene immediately noticed the voice and that face

“Annoying Jerk?” She mumbled 

“What now. Hey boy this is not your business, get lost” The Ahjussi turned around and stepping closer to Irene when Bogum turned him around to face him and punched him hard on his face making his nose bleed. The two Ahjussi holding Irene throw her to the side making her fall to the ground. “STOP IT” Irene shouted.

The two Ahjussi were fighting Bogum when he did not see the old man he punched grab a sharp object and slide it to his arm. Bogum shouted in pain. Irene got up and went towards him. She put her hands on his wounded arm to stop it from bleeding. 

“Yah!!” Irene shouted they were also about to hit her when a sound of a police car suddenly showed up and chased after them.

Irene looked at Bogum “What to do! Let me bring you to the hospital.” 

“No, don’t”

“What? Your bleeding!” Irene said nearly shouting at him

“For once can you stop shouting, it’s not like were that far away from each other.” Bogum said looking at her suddenly it started pouring hard.

Irene looked up

“Great just great!”

“Let’s go to my house,”

“What! Your house” Irene let go of him and make a cross near her chest Bogum just looked at her

“Don’t be crazy! I won’t do anything to you.. Do you want to encounter more people like that at this time while it’s pouring this hard!”

Irene straightened up and both of them walked together to Bogum’s house.

Bogum opened the door to his house and went to the sofa Irene then followed.

“Yah are you sure you wont go to the hospital?” Irene asked standing in front of him

“I’m sure.”

“This won’t do. Do you have a first aid kit?”

Bogum nodded and pointed at the high corner cabinet.

Irene grabbed the first aid kit and sat down next to Bogum. She then removed his hands covering the wound

“At least we need to clean it to prevent from infection..good thing your wound is not that deep.” Irene said looking at his wound. She the get an alcohol and Bogum step aside.

“Don’t be such a baby it’s just an alcohol.” Irene pulled his arm towards him and started applying it.

“Can you be careful!” Bogum said looking at his wound

“This is you punishment! Who told you to fight them?! You really act recklessly!” Irene said pressing the alcohol in his wound which cause him to groan in pain. 

“Be careful! Can you just be thankful! After saving your life this is what I get!”

Irene then grabbed some ointment and put it on his wound

“Well it’s you fault in the first place! If you did not show up earlier this won’t happened. If you did not make me feel frustrated by telling me some assumptions this accident won’t even happen. And if not for you my phone won’t be dead. I wouldn’t be having a really really really bad day today” Irene said grinning his teeth and put bandage around his arm. 

Bogum just stared at her.

“You really act like someone I know” Bogum said remembering Yoojung because whenever Bogum got into trouble and have bruises. She scold him like a mother than a girlfriend and apply the same way, it feels like Yoojung is just in front of him.

“Yah whoever your thinking, we are completely different”

“Agree.. that person is more beautiful, smart, everything that you can think of you know.” Irene shrugged it off snd look at the side revealing her scar. Bogum grabbed her chin

“Yah you have a scar on your right cheek” Irene grabbed his hand that’s holding his chin and put it down

“Can you stop holding me like that! It hurts! It’s just a small bruise compared to yours.” Irene stand up and looked around at his house

“Hey, this is really a big house! Yet you live here alone” Irene said

“How do you know I live alone are you a stalker!” 

Irene looked at him like as-you-wish look

“Ani, it’s very obvious that you live alone.”

Irene said and started sneezing realizing she still had a wet clothes on

“I better go” She said as she opened the door a loud thunder was heard and scared the hell out of her. Irene then looked at Bogum who’s staring at her

“Uhm.. Theirs a loud thunder outside and pouring heavily.. Can I sleep here only for tonight. I promise to pay you back!”

Bogum debate first but agree. Everyone think his cold hearted but his not heartless as everyone thinks.

 

Night has gone and it was already morning. Bogum went downstairs to grabbed some water. He looked to the side and saw Irene sleeping. He went up to her and saw her clothes still wet and she’s freezing. He put his hands on her head and widen her eyes. Irene have gotten a high fever

“This girl seriously!” Bogum carried her bridal style and put her to the guest room. “Yoojung I’m sorry!” Bogum mumbled and change Irene’s clothes into a dry one. After changing her Bogum went to the kitchen to grab some hot pack and some warm water.  He came back to the guest room, He wiped first her arm then her face he heard Irene groan in pain when he touches her bruise on her right cheek, Bogum just shakes her head. He tuck her into the blanket after he put some hot pack into her arms and legs, and put a warm towel to her head. He went down again to grabbed the first aid kit and apply some ointment and a bandage to her bruise. After that done Bogum stared at Irene.

“I don’t know why I’m doing this to you to a person I barely meet.”
