Dara's Story
Competitive. Cut throat. I was well aware of those when I entered the entertainment industry. With a degree in communications, I thought public relations work was a good career path for me. I was prepared. Or so I thought. Until I fell in love with the most unexpected one in the company. He's known as the heartbreaker, although he claimed that it was the other way around, that I was the heartbreaker. Immensely talented and totally charming, he is irresistible. He made me fall hard for him despite myself and our one thousand and one differences.
It was a challenge keeping our relationship lowkey. Dating within the company is highly discouraged, dating for artists is outrightly banned until given due permission. Given the nature of my work at the company, I tried my best to protect him, and to protect our relationship. I worked myself to the bones to rise up the ranks. I thought the higher the position I manage to secure, the more I could do for him. But the more popular he becomes, the more difficult the work I had to do, the greater the strain in our relationship. As the number of his fans increase, so do the haters. Issue after issue--plagiarism, substance abuse, relationship with women--they threw anything and everything at him.
I don't blame him for succumbing to the pressure. He is, after all, the consummate artist. He is hypersensitive, which I both love and hate about him. He fell from the pedestal they have placed him. We at the company did all that we could to control
