Kai was poignant, but still he felt bliss for letting Sana go. He was glad that she found her soul mate and glad that he backed out her life, giving her the chance of being happy. At least someone got their happy ending.

He walks back into the campus to find Winni and Sehun back from their science fair. They giggle, high-five-ing all the members of the club applauding for their good job. He stares until Winni catches his gaze, dropping her smile immediately. That made him sick in his gut, as she walks away with Sehun, smiling back.

The next few days goes in a daze, every one busy with their finals. Kai gathers his courage to tell his parents about his breakup with Sana, taking all the blame that he don’t feel anything for her. It was hassle. His parents were so mad, going on and on about how disappointed they are. Their relationship didn’t really affect their business though because they were the best ones together. His grandfather was the only one who understood him, not making a big deal out of it.

It was just another day when Kai left early. He doesn’t spend time with them anymore. Sure they were busy with the finals but Kai was never one to care. He spent most of his time, locked in his room.

Yoona bangs onto her cousins door but he refuses to open. She asks the maid to get the key, who gets all terrified at her decision, scared of her young master. But when Yoona promises her of her safety, she finally gets it, unlocking it for her.

“Ya..who the hell gave you permission to brag into my room.?? Get out before I fire you.” he mumbles from under his comforters.

“And who the hell are you to fire me..??” the familiar voice makes him look up, only to find his cousin standing there. Yoona sits down beside his bed, watching Kai gulping down a soup sitting on his bed. When the maid takes the trey away, Yoona finally speaks up.

“Kai, I heard about it. Are you fine with it.??”

“Hmm”

“Are you fine letting her go.??”

“Hmm”

“Are you fine if she is with him..??”

“Hmm.”

“Don’t you miss her.??”

“I miss her god damn it. She has been ignoring me for so long and it hurts. It’s hurts a lot. I didn’t even feel this breathless when I let Sana go. Maybe I am being too much. She is already with Sehun.”

“Wait. I was referring to Sana, who are you speaking about.??”

The silence that enveloped them immediately was her answer. She leans ahead with a found smile.

“You like her don’t you.?” Kai nods his head as she continues

“Then why don’t you tell her.??”

“I can’t. Sehun likes her too”

“And does Winni likes him back.??”

“She probably does”

“How do you know?”

“I just know.”

“Look, you don’t know if she has feelings for Sehun. Maybe she never did. It doesn’t hurt to try. You let Sana go because she has the right to find her happiness, then so do you. You also have the right to be happy. Now don’t sit back and rot yourself with your assumptions. I want my arrogant of a cousin back.”

She bumps her fist onto his bicep as she leaves the room, motivating Kai enough to give it a try.

It was the last exam of high school and everyone finish it off with lots of eagerness. When the exam ends, everyone bid farewell to each other, celebrating the end of their school life. Kai walks around the whole place trying to find the tiny human he got found of. When he doesn’t find her anywhere, he finally recalls about the place she love. He climbs up the stairs with lots of enthusiasm but stops in his track when he finds her, but she wasn’t alone. There was Sehun, kneeling in front of her, with a red rose in his hand.

“Winni, I don’t know since when, but I know that I like you a lot. I want you to be mine; I want you to be my girlfriend. Will you.??”

“Sehun..”

He didn’t want her to finish her sentence. He knows, he just knows that she is going to accept him and they are going to be a happy couple. He walks back, with his heart broken, again. It was frustrating to watch everyone else’s dreams come true while knowing your own are slipping farther away from being reality.

The school was officially done. The graduation ceremony was held in the morning and the farewell party in the evening. All the newly graduated students walk into the Maple’s ball room, clad in their finest outfits for the grand day. There was Champaign, great food and music. The party began with the teachers congratulating the students followed by more speeches, and finally ending with lots of music and celebrations. Everyone gets engrossed a lot, having the best time in their lives. All the couples, including Yoona and Lay, Chanyeol and Jennifer were dancing on the floor while Baekhyun sat with his sister and D.O, sulking for not being with his baby. Baekhyun knew about his twin’s relationship. In fact the whole group knows now that Sana found her true love and they accepted with open arm. In the end, everyone wants their friend to be happy right. But there was an exception with Kai. They do want him to be happy too, but they didn’t know what went wrong. He got even gloomier and if it wasn’t for Yoona, he wouldn’t even be here in the first place. Kai stand in the balcony, with a glass of Champaign, looking up at the dark sky. There weren’t any stars that night, just right for his mood.

“Yo dude, what you are doing here in the dark. Why don’t you go in and have some fun.??”

“I think you should be the one going in. your girlfriend must be waiting for you.”

“Girlfriend.?? What girlfriend.??” That wasn’t something he expected.

“The one you told me.”

“Winni.??”

“Hmm”

“Who told you that she is my girlfriend.??”

“But didn’t you propose to her.??” Now it’s getting confusing. He clearly saw Sehun proposing her.

“Oh come on man. I know that I am irresistible and no girl ever reject me but what to do.?? Winni is different. She never saw me that way. I guess its fine, maybe she wasn’t the one for me.”

It took a while for Kai to process the whole thing. Winni didn’t accept Sehun..?? But why??

He snaps out when Sehun puts on a hand on his shoulder, muttering

“You know the answer better.”

Kai stays there alone, getting immersed in his own thoughts. Winni didn’t accept Sehun. But why.? He needs to know the answer and that to right now. He searches for her, bumping into all those people going wild. When he finally gets hold of Yoona, she tells him that Winni didn’t come to the party at all.

She was in her dorm and Kai didn’t hesitate a minute before running all the way to his destination. He brags into her dorm, shouting her name and when the guards try to stop him, he gets into a fight. Winni runs down immediately when she hears his voice, dragging him away from the guards and all the way to her room.

“What are you..” she didn’t even get a chance to finish her sentence before Kai bangs her against the nearest wall, with no breathing space, staring intensely into her eyes.

“Why didn’t you accept Sehun..??”

“What.??”

“Sehun proposed to you but why didn’t you accept.??”

“Because I never had feelings for him.”

“How can you not have feelings when you spent all your time with him.?”

“Because I love you. I was with him so I can forget you. Move on from you. Be away from you. But I couldn’t. My heart refused to let you go..” she was crying by the end of her sentence. She doesn’t know where she got that courage from, but she had to let it out. It was a now or never. She will probably not see him anymore.

But she was wrong. The moment she began regretting her confession, Kai closes the small gap between them, connecting their lips together. Her eyes go wide as she froze at the sudden kiss. What is happening.??

She gasps as Kai on her bottom lip, silently asking her for permission. He uses that opportunity to deepen his kiss, making her legs go weak. If not for the tight hold of his hands around her waist, she would have melted down onto the floor. She felt dizzy; the whole thing was to overwhelming for her. When she was about to lose her consciousness, that’s when Kai finally broke his kiss, leaning his forehead against her, eyes still closed and with a wide smile.

“Then don’t let me go. Let me stay in your heart forever.”

“Wh..What d..o do you me..mean..??” God, she could barely breath. Her lips were swollen, with blush creeping down her neck. Her mind was still clogged with their intense kiss and she couldn’t think straight anymore.

“It means I love you too you peanut.” He slightly bumps his forehead against hers and the faint pain makes her hiss.

“What did you say.??” She breaths out, still not completely out of her daze .

“I said I love you. I love you and I love you.” Kai chants as he lifts her up, swirling her around as he laughed out loud. She holds his shoulders tight, afraid to fall but she know, he would never let her go. She finally smiles, bending down hugging his neck, pulling him for another kiss. It’s good to finally be with your true love because in the end all that matters is a happy ending.

All the members of the group finally end up in their hangout place. There were so many memories with that room, Chanbaekchen get down to play their favorite game for one last time in that place while Chen sulks for being still alone but his two best friends console him, in a teasing way. Sehun, D.O and Lay were busy with their mini basket ball game, as the girls sit down having the best girl time of their life. A high peach squeal from Yoona makes them look up to find Kai, with a wide grin and Winni, shyly hiding behind him. Yoona dragging her cousin’s now lover, jumping around the whole place. Her squeaking was enough for everyone to get the point, and D.O beams; glad to see the big smile on his friends face. They finally settle down, having the best dinner, pizza’s and chicken. Winni looks up when Sana holds her hand. She smiles wide when she sees the ambiguity in Winni’s eyes.

“Don’t worry, you didn’t do anything that would hurt me. I know you would never do that to me. Should I tell you what Kai told Me.?? Never feel guilty for falling in love. You know him better than me so now smile and hold your guy tight and have a happy life. Ok.?”

That assurance made Winni breath, hugging her best friend, giving her the best wishes to spend her life with happiness.

“Gosh now I feel so lonely.” Chen sinks down in his chair, making everyone chuckle.

“Don’t worry dude. Even I am lonely. What do you think about … being with me.??” Sehun winks at him, showing a V sign as Chen grosses away, running from him. The whole palace roar out into a fit of laughter, as Sehun chases the poor boy, who was running around with a piece of chicken in his hand. They end the day with a group photo, Sehun hugging Chen who looked all disgusted at that. The picture captures their bright faces, showing how happy they were to be with their soul mates. They still have lot to face in their lives, but they are going to face it together. Their relationships are still fresh but they know. They know that they found their soul mates, they found their true love, and they found their one and only forever. Finding someone who loves you the same way you do is a wonderful feeling. But it’s even better when you find your true soul mate. You just can’t help but adore them. You will feel your whole heart melting. That beautiful soul will bring you joy, laughter, calmness and so much more, and then you can finally say, that I am in love, you can see a future, share a life with that person. They say that nothing lasts forever, but love lives on even after we are gone.

And that marks the end of my story. Maple High is really close to my heart because even though it wasn’t the first story I even made, it was still the first story I ever published in here. I have an idea of making a sequel to this story; there is still a lot to follow but not now, not until someone will ask me to write it. So till then I am going to concentrate on my other stories.
