The first day of work is absolutely nerve-wracking. Not only did he get lost on the way there, but he got there five minutes late. He ended up walking into the specific building with mussed hair and loose tie.
His boss was surprisingly brusque and dismissive, and he didn’t mention anything about his past. By lunchtime, Jongin was completely worn out and given half an hour of a break. He didn’t know where anything was, nor was he told about actual choreography work.
He sighed, stumbling into a seat near the front desk. His phone vibrates against his thigh. He picked up the call with a sigh, not bothering to look at the caller ID.
“Look alive. You look dead already and this is your first day.”
He looked up to see Chaeyeon striding through the doors, looking a bit tired herself, but still had a bright smile painted on her face. He ended the call, pushing himself off the chair, “You don’t work in this building.”
“Knowing you, you would skip lunch though.” She held up a bag. “I brought extra.”
The two of them sat on a bench, eating and not saying much. Chaeyeon interrupted the silence with, “So, how dead are you?”
Jongin didn’t know why he lied. Maybe it was because she gave him the opening for this job. Maybe it was because he didn’t want to ruin the perception of the job she had, especially since they were working for the same company, but he lied. “I’m
