Tzuyu POV:

As I looked at her, a rush of emotion from the last 4 years came back to me all at once.

Flashback at the school rooftop:

Sana: I… I don't think I can love you.

Tzuyu: Why… What did I do to deserve this? I thought we had something. I thought you told me you only wanted me. Tell me the reason why, whyy? Why we can't try to make this work. Why can't we be together? Is it because you love someone else? I'll accept that because I just want you to be happy. But I can't accept the fact you felt nothing for me at all.

Sana: Chewy…

Tzuyu: TELL ME PLEASE. TELL ME AND I CAN MOVE ON

I moved towards her and pinned her against the wall gripping her shoulder hard so she wouldn't run away.

Sana: Chewy...Chewy-ah… it hur-

Tzuyu: TELL ME

Sana: BECAUSE IT’S IMPOSSIBLE SINCE I NEVER LOVED YOU. I ONLY WANTED YOU BY MY SIDE BECAUSE I HATED BEING BULLIED BY THE OTHER STUDENTS. YOU WERE JUST MY ESCAPE AND NOTHING ELSE.

I stood still and shocked… shocked to the point I felt my heart break into a million of pieces. Breaking over and over till my heart felt like it disintegrated. I let my grip loosen and had my hands drop dead by my side, lifelessly.

Tzuyu: You… You never loved me… You only used me… I was your tool…

Sana: Chewy… That's not what I entirely mean-

Tzuyu: SHUT UP! Shut the up please. I don't know if I can take anymore than this. You told me you loved me. You told me you trusted me to the point you never want to leave me. You hugged me and kissed me. What was all of that!!! Was that all an act!?!?

Sana: Let me explai-

Tzuyu: Enough… I had enough… I'm a sophomore and you're a Junior… just get the outta my life. Leave. You probably have no time for me since you're gonna leave soon anyways.

I didn't dare look at her because in reality I don't want to let her go and still fight. But I felt that if she never loved me, I was wasting time… I still felt her presence standing there so I decided to make the move first.

Tzuyu: If you won't leave… I will.

As I made my way towards the exit, turning my body away from her, starting to walk I felt a tug on my uniform.

Sana: Don't leave me… we can still be friends…

I was at my breaking point when I heard those words.

Tzuyu: Friends… I loved to… but I don't think I can stop loving you to still be friends.

Sana: We can try… PLEAS-

Tzuyu: Sana… I'm tired. I was alone all my life and I thought you were the one for me. I know you may think I'm naive. But for someone that has no one left in my life, I entrusted everything to you. If you don't want that, then I don't know what the point in being just friends will do.

I turned trying to gently take her grip off me and leave. I just wanted to be at peace and don't cause more sadness. Sadness for her… I know people may think… I should do this to stop hurting myself… but deep down in my heart I still loved her… but if she doesn't love me… than my one-sided love is only gonna bring pain to me but most of all, bring a hindrance in her life as she finds me annoying if I pursued her further. I gripped her hands to take them off but I felt wetness on top of my hands. Her head was down and nonstop tears kept on falling. The only way for this to stop and for both of us to never be associate with each other is….

Tzuyu: After what you said to me… I don't love you anymore… in the matter of fact…. I ing hate you will every ounce of me.

Sana looked up and her eyes were mortified. She looked at me and extended her hand towards my cheek but stopped halfway as I slapped her hand away.

Tzuyu: Don't talk to me… ever again. Good riddance.

I walked towards the door and as I opened the door to leave I heard a shout.

Sana: I'M SORRY… *hick* I KNOW THAT I LEFT YOU IN PAIN… but if you can find it in your heart to forgive me…. Please forgive my selfishness…

Tzuyu: You can dream about it… but I will never forgive you… because if I do, then that means I still love you, but I don't anymore.

I left and slammed the door behind me making my way down the stairs and stopped halfway, collapsing and sitting straight against the wall. I broke in tears and started crying really hard. Deep down… I had already forgiven her. I was too selfish in wanting her to myself. I had no one and I wanted more of her. I was alone once again.

Tzuyu: I forgive you… Sana. Because I still love you. But for the best and less painbetween us... We can't be together anymore.

Present:

As I stared in disbelief. I didn't pay attention until Sana approached me and placed her forehead on mine.

Tzuyu: WHA-

Sana: You don't have a fever… that's a relief. Are you okay???

I regained my consciousness and picked up my dropped bags.

Tzuyu: I'm fine.

I couldn't believe she can act this way from what had happen in the past. I knew that if I dragged this any longer, I'll have no escape and fall in love with her all over… so I then made my way to get back to my dorm but then she came and tugged at my shirt.

Tzuyu: What are you even doin-

Sana: How have you been… I missed you… all these years we haven't talked… so I wonder how you have been… are you happy… did you fall in love with anyone else???

My eyes were dazed in the distance from her words. She still had the same voice and caring personality from how she spoke. It took eveything I had to not give in and hug her.

Tzuyu: I have to go.

I tried walking forward but the grip on my shirt became harder.

Sana: Can you at least... tell me what school you are going to now?

I was heaitant but I thought this would be a faster method to leave rather than fight away from her grip.

Tzuyu: Seoul National University. Major in Medicine.

Sana: That's my major too and I also go to that school! We can talk agai-

I really didn’t want to stay here any longer than I am now so I had to make an excuse. Or else…

Tzuyu: I will only communicate in terms of class but other than that, we are nothing. I need to go back to the dorms now to finish unpacking so please let go.

Sana: OH RIGHT… Hey why don't I help you carry some stuff.

Tzuyu: It's fine.

As I started walking I felt one of my bags being snatched away.

Tzuyu: HE-

Sana: It's so heavy….

I looked and I could see that she is still as weak as ever…

Tzuyu: That's why I said it was fine. I knew you wouldn't be able to.

Sana: HUMPH~ says who?...

Tzuyu: Well you can barely lift it up and you're slouching to support the bag.

Sana: Then we should hurry to you complex so I don't hurt my back~

Tzuyu: Pushy as ever….

Sana: What did you say???

Tzuyu: Thanks… I guess

We walked to my apartment complex where the dorms were at and I punched in my number in to enter the building. I then took the bag away from her and walked in shutting the door right away.

Sana: Wai-

She then stuck her foot in the door gap to stop it from closing.

Sana: Apoo….

Tzuyu: Sigh… you said only to the building…

Sana: Well since it's your first year, you probably don't know that second years also live in this building too. I live on the second floor.

Tzuyu: …

She entered the building and we entered to the elevator. She then pressed the 2nd floor and leaned against the railing.

Sana: Chewy ah… don't you need to press what floor you're going to go.

Tzuyu: You already pressed it.

Sana: BUT THE SECOND FLOOR IS ONLY RESTRICTED TO SECOND YEARS?!?!

Tzuyu: Chaeyoung’s Dad arranged for us since we are also rooming with Dahyun. The rooms are bigger and more accessible so her dad made a few calls.

Sana: I see…

The Elevator ride was short and we got off.

Sana: Well I'm in the West wing.

Tzuyu: I'm in the East wing. I'll be going now.

Sana: Wait! Can I…

Tzuyu:?

Sana: Can I get your number…

Tzuyu: I don't have a phone.

Sana: I thought you did in High school?

Tzuyu: I thought you already have it.

Sana: I got a new phone and lost all my contacts.

Tzuyu: Well I can't help you with that since I had to sell it to pay my rent. Plus… I realized the only reason why I got it was because I only contacted one person so it was nothing afterwards.

Sana was silent. And I just sighed.

Tzuyu: I didn't sell it because of that… if that's was what you were thinking about. And I wasn't lying about paying rent… I was supporting myself anyways.

Sana: I thought you were lying to me when you were all alone…

Tzuyu: Now you know that I never joke. Goodbye.

I left to my room and entered the dorm. Only to be met with Two people pouncing on me, making me drop my bags another time.

Dahyun: WHAT TOOK YOU SO DAMN LONG YOU YODA!

Tzuyu: I bumped into an old classmate.

Chaeyoung: who was it???

Tzuyu: Minatozaki Sana. Also, a senior and Sumbae to our department now.

Dahyun: Yaaahh~ She still pretty?

Tzuyu: Don't know and don't care.

Chaeyoung: I that you guys were friends?

Tzuyu: We both were busy since she had to prepare for exams and College during her Junior year. I also didn't feel like hanging with her since I got you two now.

Chae and Dahyun don't know about Sana and my connection with her and no one knows about my personal relationship with her as swell. Besides two people… Mina Myoui and Momo Hirai, Sana’s childhood and closest friends. Since those two confirmed that Sana did love me… but I guess it was a lie too…

Flashback

Tzuyu: Momo Sumbae… Mina Sumbae… are you guys sure she loves me?

Momo: 100% sure if not more! She told us personally and we accidentally got her drunk to tell us. Like they always say, the truth always comes out when you are drunk.

Mina: Even if we didn't ask… it's already clear how much she loves you. She talked about you nonstop, and she was always Chewy this or Chewy that. Not to mention her background on her phone was a picture of her kissing you.

I took their word for it and went for it. So I invited her to the rooftop to say it.

Tzuyu: I love you with all my heart. You make me feel I can love again. I was always alone and I feel that you made me feel human again. These feeling that I never had were back as you appeared in front of me. Will you be mine, so I can… protect and live beside you?

Right away I thought she would say yes with all the encouragements from Momo and Mina, but all I got was a silence. Dropping my confidence and scared i wanted to make sure she was okay. I took her chin in my hands and looked at her.

Tzuyu: Are you alright?

Sana: I…I… I need time… can I tell you tomorrow.

And I waited, but then the incident happened… A few days followed, I became cold again and only interacted with Chae and Dahyun since they were my friends. Or well they always drag me everywhere with them. But one day, Momo and Mina came to my class as I was alone during break time. They approached my desk and stood in front of me. I didn't want to deal with it as I try to stand up and leave

Mina: We heard what happened from Sana… We are sorry… we were sure she-

Tzuyu: Enough, I was already over it. What's the point of bringing it up when it already happened.

Momo: We really are sorry… but we just want to make sure you're okay...

Tzuyu: In honestly, I was never okay. I trusted her and her best friends’ words but look what happened. I have no regrets from you two but you guys remind me of her. So, leave my sight and never appear in front of me again. Don't tell Sana I said all of this and forget me.

Present

Chaeyoung: Hey you know we always saw you looking at her as we walked past her class.

Dahyun: Yeah!!!

Tzuyu: Can't a girl look? I mean I look because she was as acquaintance along with Momo and Mina. They were busy and I couldn't help but see if they were healthy.

But in reality, I had to ignore her… I didn't want to see her hurt once she saw how hurt I was. I hid my emotion that even Chae and Dahyun wouldn't know but… she for some reason knows when I am at my lowest. She needed to focus on her future now and I couldn’t distract her from that.

Dahyun: Damn… the cold heart Tzuyu caring for other???? Now that's just madness.

Tzuyu: Ohhh!!! I'm sorry~ I'm cold and not caring so maybe I should just make food for myself. You lovey dovey pair can cook yourselves.

Chaeyoung: How…

Tzuyu: I can see Dahyun’s lipstick on your cheek and lips.

Chaeyoung: DUBU!!!!!!!

Dahyun: Sorrrry….

I laughed and then made my way to the kitchen to make all of us food. They cheered and hugged me. It was great how they always brought me along with them and befriended me. If it weren't for them… I would know where else I would be anyways. It was funny how we met as well…a peer coincidence.

Flashback

I was laying outside on an elevated platform on the rooftop taking a nap during break since the teachers were processing my paperwork. But then I heard a loud bang and it woke me up. On top of the roof, I saw in the corner behind me, a group of girls maybe about 10, were beating up two girls. One or two of the huge group searched their bags and pulled up money and the purses of the girls being beaten up.

Chaeyoung: Pleease stop… it hurts…

Dahyun: Don't take our stuff anymore. We are tired of it.

The leader of the group stood in front of the two girls and the other girls gripped and pinned them in place. The leader pinched their cheeks and smirked

Leader: Ohh~ I'm sorrrry, but you refused to give us money. You’ve been so kind to support us friends since Middle School.

Dahyun: We aren't your personal piggy banks for your selfish needs. And we were never freinds you dirty being.

Leader: Why you stupid brat!!!!

The leader slapped and kneed her in the stomach making the girl cough and gag in pain.

Tzuyu: Well my nap was ruined…

I jumped off the platform to the floor of the roof and the group turned towards my direction. All of them looked at me shocked and scared backing up prior to my appearance.

Leader: You a gang member??? You dress pretty ratchet… where's the uniform.

Tzuyu: I'm a transfer student so my uniform won't come in till tomorrow since I just paid the tuition fee. Plus, it's my day off since I have a good impression with my studies.

Leader: BWAHAHAHAHA YOU?!?! STUDUIOUS??? That's hilarious?!?!?! Dressed in that?

Tzuyu: Well they didn't believe me right away until I recited the whole periodic table, elements, abbreviations, and properties. But anyways, you guys are disturbing my nap. So, I need you guys to leave.

Girl 1: YOU DON'T TALK TO BOSS LIKE THAT!

The whole group: YEAH!!!!

Leader: Well I'm sorry for ruining your nap but we were just giving these two a little lesson for disobeying us. But it seems you witness my punishment. I guess you gotta be punished too.

The leader then snapped her fingers and all the group gang members brought out their metal rods and approached me all at once.

Tzuyu: Sigh… I guess I need a little exercise anyways.

I then clenched my fist and cracked my knuckles, then ran towards the crowd, dodging their attacks while knocked each one of the girls out with a painful punch to their ribs, cracking a few bones in the process. After all of the group members knocked out the leader then looked mortified.

Leader: W... who the ing hell are you… A ing monster?!?!

Tzuyu: Nahhh… just a past gang member from the most dangerous gangs out there. Not really a Gang member but a very acknowledged person known for her reputation for cracking skulls and one punch knockouts that just comes and goes getting paid for her service. Since you seem to be a fresh gang member I think you have heard of who I am. Does the PUNISHER ring a bell???

Leader: N...no way… the most feared person out there…

Tzuyu: Thanks! No one knows my face and I was known for never getting hurt or bruised. So, I guess you're the first to see my true face. You mentioned punishment…. should I give you a proper one since I invented it?!

I grinned and smirked and the leader stood there trembling, mortified of who I was. Then accidentally had an accident with their pants.

Tzuyu: Oh… looks like you really wet your pants there… Why don't I help ya… you know knockout? So, you would stop.

The leader then dropped everything and fell down. Stumbling to get up and ran once she stood up, making a run for the door.

I sighed and stretched my body. It was a long time since I cracked a few ribs. I then heard the two beaten up schoolgirls wincing in pain. I saw their bags on the ground with their stuff all over the floor. I reached and picked everything up placing it nicely in the bag. Then handing it to them.

Tzuyu: Here.

Chaeyoung and Dahyun: Thank you… uhmmmm

Tzuyu: Oh, don't call and tell anyone I'm the Punisher okay? My name is Tzuyu, Chou Tzuyu. 1st year.

They nodded their heads right away. And I couldn't help but laugh rubbing and patting both of their heads. They were hopeless like I was. When I was abused by my grandparents...I couldn’t help but stick in to help them out. I then stood up and left. The following day I got sent to the principal’s office knowing that I got ratted out but instead the principal patted my head and kneeled in front of me.

Tzuyu: Mr. Son you don't have to do this please get up!!!

Mr. Son: Thank you… for protecting my daughter and giving me proof to arrest those group of people.

Tzuyu: Daughter???

I then looked around and say a picture on top of his desk and it was the girl that was beaten up the other day.

Tzuyu: They were disturbing my sleep and that's all. You should get up or people may think I forced you like this. Imma leave.

Mr. Son then got up and extended my hand to shake it.

Tzuyu: I don't shake hands.

I then left. A few weeks following, Chae and Dahyun followed me everywhere since we had the same classes and tried to befriend me. I gave in and didn't care. From then on it was history.

Present:

Chaeyoung: Remember how cool Tzuyu was for beating those mean people up!!!

Dahyun: I remember like it was yesterday!

I laughed and then continued cooking. I finished and we all meet up to eat together. We happily ate and as I looked at the Kimbap I couldn't help but remember that day… the day I met Sana… also the day that started my rollercoaster of feelings.
