The struggles of taking a road trip

The struggles of Kim Jisoo

Let’s go on a road trip. You drive and I talk and we don’t even have to listen to all the terrible songs I keep on my phone, we can play your music instead. Let’s go on a road trip and try new cafés and sleep in the same bed at cheap motels. We can share unhealthy snacks and take photographs of each other laughing. Let’s go on a road trip, as sickeningly romantic it sounds, there’s nothing wrong with being cliché. We’re lovers after all. We can spoil each other with hand holding and cheek kisses in places where people don’t know us, looking at sceneries that will make our love feel like it is cut off of a film. Let’s go on a road trip, except, this ain’t that type of blog. Now, you thought we were getting poetic and all that jazz, well, let me tell you, when you’re dating Jennie Kim (not that that’s to complain) ‘let’s go on a road trip’ stands for ‘hey, my parents really want to meet you, so let’s take a two days and one night drive to where they live’. Let’s see, I’d rather die. Excuse me, but what kind of first impression would a person give after driving for two days, terribly sleeping in an uncomfortable bed and listening to the radio (because Jennie refuses to use anything else that could damage her car’s audio system, which is a pointless argument in my opinion) makes my brain hurt at such extent I’d start wishing for the car to crash. My own parents wouldn’t want to meet me after that, let alone Jennie’s parents. And let’s have the cherry on top, the oh so sugarcoated Rosé and her oh so loud girlfriend Lisa are joining. Yep, my cracked nerves and tired eyes would make the best first impression. So, without further ado, let me tell you about my weekend on the road, featuring the best characters for a slice of life anime. The struggles of taking a road trip (which wasn’t long enough to be a road trip, but it felt long so I’ll consider it one) No.1: The driver Jennie Kim -Don’t bring snacks inside her car -Listens to the radio as if she’s 100 years old -Also drives at the speed of an 100 years old -Is angry -Yes, that’s because Rosé brought snacks inside her car -“Why did I agree to this?!” Jennie, babe, not to break it to you but you ing planned this. You don’t say that though, you know better than to mess with an annoyed Jennie Kim and your mind is already going through the fuss of the idea that the Kims might end up hating you. You really don’t want your own Kim of a girlfriend to hate you too. Instead you crash on the passenger’s seat and wonder why did you agree to this?! Maybe you’re making it too dramatic, but you still feel uneasy about the whole family meet up, that’s why every little thing – from Ariana Grande playing on the radio to Rosé singing along – is getting on your nerves. You sigh the entire heaviness of your chest out and sink deeper in your seat. “C’mon Chu, don’t be so stressed,” Lisa says. “Jennie’s parents are nice. I mean, I’ve met them once and even though I have a weird feeling they hate me- “Oh, it’s not a weird feeling,” Jennie interrupts, smirking at Lisa from the rearview mirror. “They do hate you.” “Aw, thanks baby,” you say while aggressively panicking. “That surely makes me feel better.” Jennie laughs. God, you love this girl even though she’s literally driving you to hell right now. “They’re not that bad,” Rosé rolls her eyes. “Stop exaggerating. I mean, they don’t hate me.” “Yeah, I’m sure they like you more than they like me actually,” Jennie giggles. “That’s probably why they asked me to drag you along. Perks of being a church girl I guess.” “, you didn’t warn them about me coming too? C’mon they were already sad about me dating Rosé,” Lisa says and Jennie simply shrugs. Great, now there were two anxious people in the car having panic attacks that consisted of incomprehensible words being screamed out to the void, because Jennie surely wasn’t paying any attention. Could this go any better? “Oh, c’mon, stop being so dramatic you two. It’s Jennie’s parents, not some supernatural creatures that are about to your souls,” Rosé says, well mostly mumbles muffled words. Jennie takes a deep breath, her knuckles turning white from gripping too tightly on the wheel and as cute as you find her furrowed eyebrows and clenched jaw, you’re terribly scared that her head will pop off because of anger. “She’s eating, isn’t she?” Jennie mumbles and Rosé stops munching. “I’m not,” she replies, dragging her words. Quietness collapses and suddenly even Ariana Grande has stopped singing, those two seconds when the radio station changes the songs feel like two minutes and everyone is holding their breath, waiting for the car to blow up. “it’s just baby carrots Jennie. Baby carrots won’t hurt anyone. Don’t be mean to baby carrots. I specifically picked baby carrots so your car wouldn’t get dirty and now you’re going to be mean to baby carrots for no reason. Who hurt you this bad?!” Rosé yells in a sugar coated voice and you’re pretty sure she’s about to start crying. “Say ‘baby carrots’ again,” Lisa whispers to Rosé. “Baby carrots,” the other girl pouts. Jennie simply releases her breath and looks at you. “It’s all good, right? Just peachy keen,” she says as she flinches at the sound of Rosé taking another bite. “Or you know,” Lisa tucks her head in between the front seats, smirking like the idiot she is, “carroty keen.” It takes everything in Jennie not to punch her and everything in you not to laugh. You feel your tension ease a bit as you remember that these crackheads are going to be with you the entire time, not going to let any awkward or embarrassing situation occur between you and Jennie’s parents. Or you know, they’ll probably make it worse, but Jennie’s there. Jennie’s always there and that’s quite comforting, on a certain extent, because knowing Jennie she will be teasing you and daring you to make a fool out of yourself. Thrilling. You look at your girlfriend as you take a deep breath filled with anxiety and slight anger, but it gets stuck in your lungs and you forget how to function at the mere sight. She has sun rays dancing on her face, caressing her features, making you fall in love once again. She’s finally over Rosé and her baby carrots, her muscles relaxed and her cheeks puffed as she concentrates on the road. It suddenly shrinks, the stress and uneasiness, looking at her being medicine for your nerves. This isn’t too bad, you think. This almost feels like a film. No.2: The whining passenger, aka me Kim Jisoo -I’m dying -No, not because of Jennie’s parents -Well that too, but right now I’m dying because I need a bathroom break - -“Why is Jennie so pretty?!” Oh, you know that one person in the car. The one that suddenly is too hot and when the air conditioner is on, they’re cold and oh, maybe we should open the window, but maybe we should close it because the wind is ruining my hair. You know, that person who is uncomfortably moving a

Chapter 1: For some reason, I can't see Jisoo as a Femme😅😅...
Yes she is absolutely adorable, and FY Jisoo is the epitome of what a femme looks like....
But anything else? Attitude, her comfort?, style? 😂 Idk. Good read thou. Love your wording.
