Broken Hearts of Literature.“Are you guys on good terms now?” Jaemi questioned, walking down the stairs the next morning. Her eyes were on her best friend and Baekhyun – who sat closely together as though they seemed to have been sleeping downstairs without the fireplace on. And it looks like that was the case because she didn’t hear footsteps come back up the night prior. Nami blinked, turning her attention to the blonde stopping at the end of the steps. “What time is it?” The brunette asked, squinted eyes dashing around the living room as she looked for a clock.
“It’s nine in the morning and I’m the only one up – now are you going to answer my question?”
“What question?” Nami asked. Baekhyun lifting himself up to sit upright, laughing as he nodded: “We’re on good terms now. Thanks, Jae,” he uttered while Nami’s confused expression morphed into realization. “Oh,” was all she said as she rose from the couch. There was a smile on Jaemi’s features as she came forward to hold her hand out to the brunette – taking it without hesitation as they made their way to the kitchen. “Do you want some coffee, Baek?” Jaemi questioned as she pulled Nami in further to the kitchen. “Um, yes, please,” Baekhyun uttered, getting up and stretching with a soft yawn.
“Give me details,” Jaemi whispered loudly to her best friend. Nami blinked, crossing her arms over her chest in confusion. “On what?” She asked, feigning confusion while the blonde gave her an obvious look. “Okay, fine, we made up – and he gave me this,” she said, lifting her arm that carried the bracelet. There was a smile on her lips as she showed off the bracelet. Jaemi grinned, taking a closer look at the bracelet with an awed expression. “It’s so cute,” she cooed. Nami grinned while also looking at the bracelet. “There’s little bells too, look,” Nami said, shaking her bracelet. Jaemi could tell that her best friend was obviously happy with the gift – and maybe the fact that her and Baekhyun are on good terms. One minute that were biting at each other’s necks, the next ignoring one another, and now all is forgiven.
“She’s not going to stop with the bells,” Baekhyun mentioned, gliding into the kitchen with a grin. “Cause they’re cute!” Nami exclaimed, jiggling it in his face before moving to grab the milk for the coffee. Jaemi stared at the two with wide eyes and a questionable look while Baekhyun simply laughed. It was a relieved, airy, laugh – something that he hasn’t really been able to do since they stopped talking. Now, everything felt like it was in place. He was simply happy that there was no animosity. “Maybe you should’ve got her a regular bracelet with no bells,” Jaemi uttered playfully, earning a frown from Nami while the blonde brewed coffee for the three – well, enough for them until the others started waking up.
