Jin
BTS 2016 Winter Drabble Collection“Jin, this is a really, really bad idea.” She said from her position next to the ice rink. Jin laughed as he skated up to her, making it look oh so easy. “Come on, Jagi. It’s not as difficult as it looks. Plus I’ll be holding your hand the entire time.” he said as he extended his hand for hers. She eyed his hand warily. “I’m going to fall.” She said, taking a small, half step backwards, wobbling on the razor thin skates. “You won't. I’ll hold onto you, I promise.” He said, his voice warm and encouraging. She eyed him for a few more seconds before sighing. “Ok, fine.” She mumbled as she inched closer to the ice.
Jin held out both his hands for her, suppressing a laugh at her cute, worried expression as she stepped onto the ice for the first time. She wobbled slightly and grabbed onto his sleeves like her life depended on it. “Please don’t let go.” She begged. A quiet chuckle escaped him, “I promise, Jagi. You’re going to be fine. How about I just pull you at first? To let you get used to balancing?” he offered. She nodded and he started slowly skating backwards, which only made her panic. “Oh my god! No! You can’t go backwards!”
He thought for a second. “Ok, then how about this?” he asked as he turned away from her and secured her fingers onto his belt loops. “Better?” he asked as he slowly started moving forward. She nodded quickly, too busy holding her breath and trying to stay balanced to answer him properly. He glanced over his shoulder at her, smiling at the look of determination on her face. He sped up a little, making sure that she was still stable behind him. “You ok, Jagi?” he asked. “Yeah!” she said, her voice a little brighter than before. “Want to speed up?” he asked. “Yeah, but just a little!” she replied.
He sped up a little more and he heard her giggle from behind him. They kept that up until she felt confident to hold one of his hands and skate beside him. He encouraged and praised her the whole time. He offered to let her skate alone, but she insisted that she was more than happy to continue skating hand in hand with him. By the time they left, they were both red faced and happy. As they sat down to take off their skates, a member of staff walked by and greeted Jin.
She gave him a puzzled look. “Do you know that guy?” she asked. Jin flushed at her question. “No.” he said as another member of staff walked by, also greeting him. “Have you been here before?” she asked. Jin's face flushed darker. “I may have signed up for skating lessons before I brought you here.” He mumbled as he quickly pulled on his shoes. She smiled at him, “You took skating lessons just so you could bring me here on a date?” she asked. He nodded shyly. “I’ve always wanted to go on a date to an ice rink, but I didn’t want to make a fool of myself. So I signed myself up for lessons a couple of months ago so that I could impress you.” He admitted.
She reached forward and kissed his cheek. “That’s so sweet.” She said with a smile. “I’m a sweet guy.” He said as he picked up their skates. “Now we still have the next part of the date to go. Let’s go.” He said as she stood up and linked her arm through his. “Let’s go!”
